Criticism of what? What are you trying to improve? As far as a I can tell, without knowing any background here, it's a boring picture of a bench that's hardly in focus.

What are the arguments for and against always lining up your verticals?
>What are the argument for lining up your verticals?
muh verticals
>What are the arguments for lining up your verticals?
It's autistic and only autistic people care.
>>3022415
The human brain lines up verticals naturally, even when you're upside down you still know which way is up. I'm not saying you should ALWAYS line up your verticals, but unless there's a point or purpose it looks bad if you dont.
>>3022415
Jared told me to line up my horizonticals as well.
Are rangefinder cameras better for creepshots due to their quieter shutter sounds?
You guys ever taken a picture of somebody without them knowing?
How do I build up the courage for that?
>>3021621
Just responding from a technical point of view. Many mirror less cameras have silent shutters which make absolutely zero noise
the best creep camera is obviously a mobile app where you can press the shutter with a scroll movement

I did it in post using photoshop for thumb and premiere pro for the video. Original footage was shot on 1080p/25fps or 720p/50fps with a Canon EOS M + 18-55. Pretty basic as camera, still gives me nice results!
What would it take to create a fake publication for the purpose of attaining media passes? At what point does this fake publication become a real one?
Is it as simple as a website or even a facebook page? What kind of readership do you think you'd need for something like a small event (club level car racing, local events), or a big one (big concerts, big motorsports events)?
I'm thinking if you could fake a readership, you could use this publication to acquire passes for one and one's friends. For example: people on 4chan. Then those people would maybe write an article and submit event photos. Of course, at that point, it becomes legitimate, doesn't it?

Just make up some pass for a blog and have a barcode or qr code that scans to your website, just make it look official.
I read an article on fstoppers about how photographers can check bags for free or reduced price if they are with a media organization. The guy who said he worked for fstoppers made a bullshit press pass and they took it as valid. Will try to find article.

Nice, although there's no way that would work for actually getting into an event that passes are issued for.
is Nikon Kill?
Canon can't be far behind, why would anyone buy a compact camera now with phones producing good enough shots. DSLRs are btfu by Sony mirrorless, even in pro imaging. The crushing disappointment of Nikon 1 and Canon M, were some of the first nails in Canikons casket. Can they ever recover?
imagine if digital died and we saw a resurrection in film
>>3021947
Cameras will die and we'll see an upbringing in phones. You'll get CANON printed around your phone lens. That's it.
>>3021945

No.
My first shot on iphone7. Opinions?
4chan has a board to discuss technology (including phones).

cool thread OP.
lets start this motherfucker with this magnificent straya cunt, the excellent, high energy, Trent Parke:

This Alex Soth AMA has tons of gems.

Couple snippets:
>A lot of people bite off more than they can chew. Rather than doing a story of poverty in the south, one might do a story on woman who loses her job in Alabama. That sort of thing. Otherwise the project gets bigger and bigger in one's head and becomes impossible to tackle. (though in the end it might end up being about poverty in the South).
>Amazing pictures are happening all of the time. They are so omnipresent that it feels crazy to chase after them all. I guess that is why I limit myself to projects. I can focus my energy and attention to those pictures that serve the purpose of the project.
I personally disagree with this one, but definitely understand what he means. Right now always having a camera on me is working really well.vi can see that changing eventually though.

He speaks such a clear English. As a non-native I can understand every single word he says. Marvelous.
Why is Kodachrome so perfect, bros?
How does it have that "realistic" look while boasting, at the same time, funky and plain wrong colors? How the fuck did they achieve that?
Why is it so 3D?
You all knew that film was something else when the jews at VSCO didnt even attempt to call any of their garbage presets "Kodachrome".
>>3020274
Alchemy.
>>3020274
It has that 'realistic look' despite being so wrong because you weren't alive and actually think shit looks like that back then. The world, as documented in color, from the 40s-70s was largely documented using Kodachrome. It's the only way you've seen the workd from that time in history. It contradicts what you know the world to look like, but at the same time it's the only way you've seen that time since you weren't alive then.
Kodachrome is known for lots of things, accurate colors was never one of them. It was also a pretty mediocre film when compared to some of Kodak's later Ektachrome offerings. I shot a few roll of Kodachrome 25 as well as Kodachrome 64 and was unimpressed. At a time it was the best color film available, but by the 90s there were much better alternatives.
Another thing to keep in mind is tons of images you see from that time period were shot with medium and large format cameras. Part of the reason for that '3d look'.

I grew up and currently live in LA, it's basically designed for tourism so there's not a lot of non touristy spots
i mean UCLA or USC have really nice architecture, Griffith park gets the dankest sunsets.
Idk man, la isn't great for the types of photography you described, but if you're gonna go you should just try Santa Monica or Griffith park
>>3017579
Not OP, but flying to Cali and stopping in LA mid march. Probably around the financial district/Chinatown
How diverse is the architecture around there?
Also, any great places to eat?
>>3017570
Never been in LA, but if were to go there, I would for sure rewatch one of the thousand movies set there.

Hey /p/
Any of you guys got stories of people getting belligerent to you while you took pictures?
>>3013318
Fuck you OP.
Yeah, I had a guy grab and detain me until the cops showed up because I took a snap of him on the street. Pretty sure he was drunk.
It wasn't very interesting. He was holding on to my left arm and I had the camera in the other hand, so I couldn't take a swing at him. His other hand was holding his dog's leash, so he couldn't take a swing at me. Hah.
I tried to get the cops to charge him with illegally detaining me but they told me to fuck off.
Pic related. It wasn't even good.
