I have this nearly unused Polaroid SLR 680 with all the sheets and even an old pack of 600 film expired in the 80s. I really dont know what do with it, should I buy some of the overpriced instant film and shoot with it? or just sell it off to someone and buy a regular polaroid? impossible project is selling this model for $500+

Have you tried "Stunning Digital Photography" by Toni and Chelsee Northdrop? Check it out at sdp.io/ImAMassiveCuck
i jus want a digital rangefinder without having to pay for bullshit technologies like electronic viewfinder and electronic focusing.
>>3139370
Why though?
>framelines are never fully accurate
>no depth of field preview
>no exposure preview
>if rangefinder and lens are not perfectly calibrated you get blurry images
>parallax
>no auto focus
Electronic viewfinders are great.
>>3139376
Oh and I forgot: certain lenses block the viewfinder
>>3139376
>framelines are never fully accurate
just imagine them overlaid on what you're looking at
>no depth of field preview
what is a distance scale
>no exposure preview
you should be setting eggsposure yourself when you're not in AE ideal light anyway
>parallax
only a few cm, besides you should only have the camera on your face in the moment of exposure
>no auto focus
Ur the focus. an AF will struggle in weird light, but with MF you can always focus (preemptively too) as long as you're aware of where the subject is.

How do I deal with noises? The original photo was so noisy that it generated a JPEG file of ~16MB. This one had a Level 2 Noise Reduction applied using Lightroom Mobile.
Ignore the mobile part, I'm not a photographer but I like to improve myself on whatever skills that I feel like I can improve upon.
>Implying that noise is a bad thing
>>3139359
Forgot to add, Level 2 NR and it went to 7MB. This is compressed using an online JPEG compressor.
My actual question is how to deal with noises without compromising the details of the photo? I see a lot of crisps photos without all the bad noises.
>>3139361
I didn't. I simply want to avoid the bad kinds of noises.
>>3139359
Larger sensor, better lens. Get a higher-end FF camera with a recent sensor and a nice lens that is sharp at wide apertures.
Or shoot in / create better light.
Do you think people in the 60s got shit for using Micro Four Thirds?

Should I join the TRUE Medium Format Masterrace?
(Hasselblad X1D and Fuji GFX doesn't count)
Im thinking of buying an PhaseOne 645 DF with P45+ back and 110m 2.8 (35mm eq. to 73mm, f2) for around 6000 euro.
Want to add more lenses later.
But am not quite sure if its worth it
pro's:
-Medium format look will distinguish my pictures from all the other meme APS-C and Fullframe crowd.
-delicious depth of field rendering
-16bit color rendition, Toptier Fullframe have only 14bit
(for the normies here, remember that bits are counted binary, so 16bits means 4x or 400% more color information then 14bit)
-I shoot partly studio and I think some models and clients will have a better impression if they see Phase One.
-Leaf shutter flash sync up to 1/2000 (HSS is not really an alternative since it diminishes flash power)
-Medium format look could land me 1-2 5k/day jobs per year
Con's:
-Iso only to 800, so basically only a studio cam or good weather cam
-Super heavy, so no events possible with that thing
-Super expensive
-Old CCD sensor technology
-Shitty focusing
-Expensive lenses
-Will be memed down the road to buy one of their 40000 Euro Systems one day.
-no one gives a shit about 16bit colors, since even the biggest clients display their images on shitty 5inch screens in highly compressed jpgs.
So /p/ enlighten me with your wisdom.

>But am not quite sure if its worth it
I know this is a troll thread, but in the interests of potentially saving the financial life of an utter moron on the other side of the world, it is definitely not worth it.
No potential client that you would ever have access to would even be aware of the existence of MF digital, let alone require it.
>let alone be able to tell the fucking difference from files alone; that is literally never happening in 2017
You get MF digital when you are literally being flown around the planet on the regular to shoot fortune 500 corpo shit, or for vogue (not vogue pakistan, either).
Anything you want to do with that camera, you should be able to do comfortably with a 5d2 and 85/1.8.
Of course they don't know the existence of MF but the look is there.
There is a different rendering with that huge sensor size.
SO clients will only think "of those are so pretty" thats all I need.
i know this picture sucks anus and its underexposed, not to mention the dude is ugly
but what should i dot next time and what would you recommend i do with it for retouch in photoshop? skin retouch, colors? what else
>>3138977
The lighting, colour and composition are bad, yes, but that’s not what makes it a bad photo. It’s the fact that your subject is an ugly guy standing awkwardly against a wall in a suit he looks extremely uncomfortable in. If this is meant to be an album cover you could hardly choose a photo more likely to discourage people from buying it.
>>3138977
comp wise, shoot at subject's eye level
and not center with already a hard background, it makes for a constricted photo, yours looks like one of a dude in jail

what is this garbage?
are you surprised that people give unsolicited opinions on things?
are you surprised your supervisor looks at your work?

>work as head of av department at a school
>some stupid videographer underneath me is always skeptical of the edits i suggest
Hey! I've recently done this shoot to get some plain, simple, natural looking images.
There was no MUA, no stylist, just me and the photographer. Very little to no editing.
We ended the shoot with more sensual/erotic pictures, but anyway...
I'd like to select a few pictures for my portfolio, but I'd like to get some opinions from outside.
Here's a link to the gallery, there're around 60 pictures. Lingerie, implied nudity, nudes:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fadmc7ykva3kbrp/AADyYPjqnV3gtNA6pt5bgORHa?dl=0
I'd appreciate it if you could copy and paste names of the photos you liked the most.
That would help me immensly.
P.S. You'll see I have some self harm scars, I'm OK with them being visible. I know it doesn't look super nice and everything, but... life happens sometimes.

This is not a thread to talk about self harm. I do take it seriously and I'm working on getting better. I haven't harmed myself in nearly two months. But while the scars are there, I don't see much point in Photoshoping them... I'm not aiming to look like girls from magazine covers.
