cats are ok.
it's your pic that is a piece of shit.
no way of cropping it is going to change that.
>Hoya Polarising filter
>has two versions, one called "HD"
>HD costs twice as much
is there really a difference in quality between the two, or is it mosly snakeoil/placebo?
I do really need a polarising filter though.
>>3045468
the "HD" version is likely snake oil as you said. It may have a better polishing technique and better glass sourcing but it will go 100% unnoticed.
>>3045475
OP here, yeah I looked into it and it seemed to be just MUH COATINGS so I ordered the regular one (also a colorchecker passport)
>>3045476
Probably the only noticeable difference is that the HD one is less flare prone because of dem coatings.
hey guys, new to photography. is the Nixon D3000 a good starting device? someone is selling it for 300$ canadian around. If not, what else should i be looking for? 500 under
pic related
>>3045423
Compare a D3400 in specs to that, and the price is only about $150 CAD more than that. It depends on how much you're going to use it. However you should probably just save a little if you're going to invest in something you'll likely use a few years, 150 CAD isn't worth cheaping out on for something this obsolete.
>>3045433
D3300 is better though. No snapbridge, no option to drain your batteries on glacier slow image download even when it is turned off.
>>3045423
>nixon
don't do it.
I'm working on a music video for a client, and I can't seem to get the scratch track waveforms to match up perfectly. I have snapping off, and they are just misaligned by one frame.
On playback, to me it looks fine, but I showed it to someone a rough cut I did, and they said it was slightly off, but I always thought there was an acceptable delay by a frame or two where people won't notice.
Anyways, is there a way I can get everything synced up perfectly?
Turn audio units to be shown in the timeline and then use the slip tool to align the audio tracks.
>>3045371
cant you move them by hand and add one by one until theyre synced up?
>>3045427
They only move one frame at a time.
I've tried using the slip tool, and still it moves it by too much at a time.
I've shown it to a couple more people and they agree it is slightly out of sync.
here r some pics i took recently. i dont shoot portraits but i tried for fun & here they r. most of em are out of focus but whatever im not trying to do this for a living.

I've been a poor cuck of a photographer for the last 2 years using my Canon T5 and 18-55mm kit lens to take all my pics. Recently I've moved up from that to a Canon 70D (got it for a great price desu) and ordered a Canon 18-135mm lens with it.
Any opinions/feedback regarding photography with this setup? Did I fuck up?
Buy a 50mm or 35mm f1.8, very sharp and good for their money

no joke was looking at the Sigma Art 50mm f1.2 (I think it was 1.2 at least) but it was like $900. Trust me, if I could I would. Those Art lenses have me orgasming

who are your favorite photographers, /p/? mainly interested in art photography, but anyone is welcome and please post examples of their work

I find his work a bit depressing/sad, he is clearly still dealing with the death of his wife (quite obvious if you have seen any documentaries/interviews about/with him etc), he states himself that the core theme among all his work is sex and death. The pictures he shot of his wife is his best work.

I'd like that picture more if there wasn't a huge fucking faggot standing there and possibly a normal looking person
>>3039358
Starting a new RPT when the old one is 20 photos out. You're a raging faggot OP.
I always carry around a ff camera that takes excellent photos, and I have some experience doing journalist style photos, but I also always carry around a second body that shoots 4k, and have some great external mics on me too. So let's say in a hypothetical situation that I were to witness a massive happening, like an isis massacre, plane crash, bombing, etc. Should I take out the camera and try to get some iconic photos of the event? Or should I try to capture the entirety of the event in 4k with good sound for people all over the world to see the true horror of the situation?
And which would make me more money?
photos seem to leave a better legacy, and they're also able to be in textbooks if you care about that
>>3045532
That's true, and that's the biggest dilemma to me. The photos are always iconic because they just capture the moment.
How does it work financially with images taken at things like 9/11 or whatever? Is it lucrative? Or do your images basically get made into public domain?
>>3045534
most reputable places give citations and probably ask permission
for those who dont, lawsuits exist for them
