Yesterday there was a "Lätare" march in front of my house, so I went out to take some shots. People celebrate that half of the Lenten period is over and spring has started.
The Palatinate tradition is that kids do a play during which they defeat winter, which ends in a fire on the market place symbolically burning winter.

Hey /p/,
I've no idea what to call this so I'm having a hard time troubleshooting. Many of the photos I import from my EOS M to LR4 look like shitty 256 color bitmaps (pic related). It looks fine if I zoom in/export the photos. Anyone else had this problem? I suspect it's the Retina display, my 6 year old macbook didn't do this.
My friend's sweater. It seems to struggle with gradients in dark areas.
Top part of image/nose. These are all screenshots of what I see in Lightroom.
Photos look fine on my end so It's most likely your hardware. Screen or GPU.

>still working for "exposure"
how do you even sleep at night knowing that you're contributing to the exploitation of artists all around the world?
https://vimeo.com/197829456
How come artists are so willing to work for free?
>>3049925
because working for exposure is a perfectly viable way of working for cash later on after they garner a following. the people complaining are for the most part art school drop outs (or at the rest are people who realized its hard to make a living off art) who aren't getting paid for their art because their art sucks and isn't worth being paid for. look at the creator of the collective's work. shes another diamond dozen ((((graphic designer))))

That's simply the will of the people.
It's what happens when a labour market is over saturated.
Maybe now you'll understand how painful it is to ship jobs over-seas or to flood your labour market with Pajeets.
Never bought a camera before, I've had to resort to my shitty LGG3 camera to take nice photos.
Just wondering, whats the best all around camera I could get on a budget, where I can take with me anywhere? Around or under $450 mark

What would you like to shoot? It sort of matters. For about 450 there's a few options, assuming you mean digital.

>Your Reliance on Presets is Going to Cost You Your Job!
I happen to agree with him for the most part.. That said, I make a living photographing Real Estate (something that I do NOT think will be a viable career in the next 10 years) due to tech advancements.
So all that said, if he is correct.. What areas of Photography will stay strong? I do not live in a big enough city to transition into commercial Architecture, so I will have to gradually transition into another area of photography if I want my career to continue.
My feeling is that it will come down to areas of photography that require other advanced skills (be it elaborate lighting knowledge or high end retouching skills). What areas of phtgraphy would you bet on being strong in the next 5 years? What about 10?

I think your shift key is broken.
All he's saying is don't use fuckin' vsco, my dude, and he's right. It's pretty appalling how many commercial photographers squeak by with another person's aesthetic.
Also, stop watching youtube photography videos. Just because they made a video doesn't make them an authority.

I dont use filters (apart from the 1 time where I had 1 client request her property images to look like they had an instagram filter on them.....).
But lets be honest, if an iphone could HDR merge an interior photo 95% of real estate photographers would go oout f business, Why? Not because HDR merge is good (its fucking shit) but its passable and if an agent can take a passable image by themselves then why would they pay a photographer to take a photo that they think isnt much better than there own.

Why does most of the film in my disposable cameras keep getting ruined? Twice in a row, a good 4/5 of the photos are just a grey mess.

Why is the video on entry-to-prosumer DSLRs still god awful?
Honestly even smartphone sensors are capable of delivering higher quality videos at a quarter of the price, all the while fitting it into something that you can slip into your pocket. What's holding back DSLRs?
