So my gf here and I are going through a Museum in Germany. Why aren't we allowed to take pictures of the paintings?
>>3060586
It probably depends on the place. I went to a bunch in Berlin and I could and I couldnt.
In Vienna I could take a picture of everything except for Klimt's The Kiss

What kind of alternatives are there? I would love something that would offer better grip, that's not big and doesn't draw attention to me. I just think it looks goofy when people run around with huge rigs for home videos.
>>3059268
I wish Movi wasn't so expensive. Any cheap alternatives for a poorfag?
>>3059268
You can grab a steady cam for about £45. They're a bit annoying to use, but the footage is amazing for the cost.
>>3059279
I think I'd much rather buy a Sony A7s II, than a Movi. That way I could get decent image stabilization for vintage lenses and a Canon EF to Sony E adapter with variable ND.
>>3059281
I've been thinking about it, but it's not as discreet as I'd like. They're usually pretty big. Do you know of any monopod that works nice for video? Maybe one that I could use for support when it's not extended as well.

I gotta say, as much as I like how the nice 100 speed films look, sometimes I really hate being stuck with 100 speed film as soon as any light levels fall, or you're in the shade. Fug.
I like Provia and Ektar a lot, but I'm going to just shoot 400H and Portra for the rest of my life at this rate.
stupid question: using a minolta srt 101, light meter doesnt seem to work? how do i turn it on
>>3057674
I feel ya. I just wish there were other options in 120. 400H is beautiful but expensive, and I just can't get into Portra. I'm burning through Provia 400X at a pretty alarming rate these days.

Took a few shots over the weekend with the amazing weather we had.
Also I have to thank a few anons from my last few threads. Some people had asked me if I had any plans to go back to Japan in the near future, and I had said no. But it got me thinking. So I put in for PTO on Monday and bought tickets last night. Leaving the Friday after next. I was originally going to go to the Balkans but checked flights to Japan last minute and found a crazy deal I couldn't pass up. I'll be spending a few days in HK too.
Super excited, can't wait to finally have a reason to shoot some 645 Portra again.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve with this.
Are you implying that the claim is correct?
Or are you mocking it?
- Because your counter claim that "poorfags on suicide watch" leads me to believe that you are just agreeing with the idea that having good gear makes you better.
Also Alex Jones is an actor who is paid to appear outraged by poorly constructed conspiracies. Are you portraying yourself as that character?
Or are you just some dickhead who cant afford gear and likes to mock those who are affluent enough to buy it.
I guess if you aren't - then you must own good gear and take good photos? If so, show us your photos.

>asks for a Polaroid camera
>posts Instax
The mini8 is decent, but it prints tiny pictures and is more for taking selfies with your girlfriends to post on Instagram than any actual objects or scenery.
The Instax 210 is okay too, but the wide format is weirdly proportioned. Other than that, it's not bad. Cheap film, instant development, easy to use though very ergonomically awkward.
If you're talking about Polaroids only, yes, you can probably buy a used camera from the 600 series for less than $100. You do NOT need to buy a refurbished one from Mint or Impossible Project. You still do, however, have to buy their incredibly expensive, non-instant film.
If you're willing to pay a little more, the folding SX-70 is the holy grail, IMO. But that, too, will require you to buy Impossible film at $24 per 8 pictures, as well as separate flash attachments( either disposable flashbars or rechargeable electronic one)

Where does /p/ get their metal prints?
I use to work for a photo company
Bayphoto lab is where you can get many sizes even custom sizes
And social print studio is mainly for things smaller than 16x20
>>3056455
I've been getting my prints done at bayphoto for years now. I've done prints as large as 30x45 and they've all looked great.
The only issues I've ever had was one time the hanger fell off the back of the print, causing the print to fall and ding the corner. I called up bayphoto and without even asking, they sent me a brand new one for free, with free shipping. I've even had FedEx bend the corners of a few prints, and it's the same deal, bayphoto sent me new prints, I even got to keep the damaged ones (that are now hanging on my walls)
I'd definitely recommend using them if you're wanting some prints.
>>3056840
Sorry about that brotha. We had many issues that were causing the hangers to fall off
Examples: our high gloss came with a weird spray that blocked our adhesive to properly cure from mount to print
Experimenting with different tapes to see which was best
We hired noobs like clock work and they couldn't press the mounts for jack shit.
Now that I'm gone I hope those guys still know what they are doing
P.S FedEx always always messes up our deliveries we rarely ever if ever sent a print with messed up bent corners
What's the deal with DXOmark
No memes please. Why the fuck are their testing different on Nikon and Canon? Do they really favor Nikon( or Sony sensors in general)?
Pic related.
The Nikon sensor is slightly larger, but 3 MP more resolution??
Apparently the exact same lens transmits 0.3 stops more light on nikon?
Also the vignetting is slightly lower on a larger sensor?? What.
>>3054648
it's just lens variation.
they also tested on cameras and not test bench.
>>3054663
If you select same third party lens on different systems their values will vary. You can see how the pattern is towards a currently favored system.
Also, notice there are no open descriptions of their measuring methods and no raw data or photos of the charts published.
There is literally nothing to support their scoring.
>>3054648
I think what it's saying is that you can safely disregard DXOMark.
Regarding that actual lense though, if you're looking to buy one, rather than just shitposting about a website; it's good, you should get it and use it on a film camera.
On digi it has a little barrel distortion and very prominent longitudinal CA, but generally it's the cheapest, widest, fastest, sharpest option.
