chink shit for /p/
so i've been browsing /g/ lately and keep reading up on chink shit threads for interests and giggles actually
never ordered anything though but maybe there are some /p/ related stuff for beginners of course !
let's say i want 2 external light spots so i can take some basic portraits of people indoor.
would you rather use flash setups or just constant light sources ?
what's your advice for beginners /p/ ?

Hotshoe flash is the cheapest and easiest solution, followed by continuous lighting and then off camera flash.
>>3067377
i guess because continuous lights aren't stronger than flashes ?
i think i'll buy 2 cont. lightings since im using the xpro1 and it's hard to find good flash triggers etc.

a7 s II or a7 r II If I'm more interested in video mode but also would like to take some decent night city photos from time to time?
>>3066624
A7s ii smashes the r for video as the r uses line skipping.
A7rii smashes the s for stills because bsi & resolution & dynamic range & high iso performance.
>>3066625
Is the a7s ii not better for low life stills?
>>3066629
Nope, the a7s range are video cameras, their stills performance is pretty awful and its low light performance is actually nothing to write home about.
It's been a class leader for low light video as it uses the whole of the ff sensor with no binning.
I seriously hope you guys are using a green theme for your cameras

35mm or 50mm prime for DX? Mostly for lowlight events/portraits.
>>3065902
>DX
events: Tamron 17-50/2.8
portraits: prime, from 50mm up to 90mm. A macro lens will do fine as well.
Wanted to get another opinion on this,
I'm about to buy this used Ricoh gr for 300 bucks. Is this a good price considering the body damage in pic related? I already have an a6000 so I'm worried that this will be a useless buy in a sense. I can't get wide enough shots with my sony because of the focal length with my lenses. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I bought the Instax Mini 8, and 400 packs of film for an art project.
Unfortunately the piece of shit Mini 8 is a piece of shit. It overexposed every single outdoor shot.
The flash goes off every time no mater what.
I ended up taping it over the flash, and making a makeshift lens hood to make the images come out "okay"
At best most of the pictures had the background completely overexposed.
Anyway, I still want a decent Polaroid camera, but not spend $1+ per shot.
What are my options? I really like the small format film that the Mini 8 uses.
Is the Neo Classic 90 any good?

Or is there an inexpensive portable printer that wont cost too much?

Why on earth didn't you buy the camera and ONE pack of film, test it out, and then proceed?

Hello everyone at /p/
I'm thinking of getting into photography but I need a camera first, I think I'll get the Canon Rebel T7i since it's a beginners camera. Is this a good idea?
Pic related, the camera.

Call B&H, they're literal professionals.
I wanted to make a separate thread for this because i think this is a big question. As the subject states were comparing ok body with great glass vs great body ok glass. I currently have a canon 6d with a 16-35 f4l is and am selling it today for 2500 maplebucks to see what i can do. The zoom range isnt enough for me and i just want a little more reach but also thinking about switching to nikon because my fiancee has nikon with some glass.
So heres the question. Whats the best lineup i can get into for 2500 in your opinion. I shoot travel landscape car meets and street photo. Was originally thinking to pick up this mint nikon d750 with a 35mm and save the 500 to pick up a 70-200 f4 non vr but wanted to see what others think.

Was also thinking of picking up a used v1 70-200 2.8 vr for 1300 and a sigma art 50mm but that only leaves me with 500 for a body. Can i get anything for that?

Have you sold it yet?
In your shoes I'd keep everything and buy a fast prime and some grad filters, but I can't into telephoto so the appeal of a 70-200 is lost on me.
Option 1 sounds better, but 35mm isn't wide enough based on what you've posted.
Alright /p/, here's the problem. I was tired of taking portraits of my friends, and my family. I went on the craiglist equivalent we've got here, and emailed girls that wanted a book.
Some responded, and asked about what outfit and makeup they should wear, and that's the problem. I have no freakin idea.
I'll tell them to wear dark clothes (they're mostly white/asian), in order to bring them out. Am I right ?
I'm not a shy, introvert, antisocial person, and I'm comfortable with the idea of meeting someone. But I'm also a bit nervous about it. For example, what directions should I say about the pose ?
For all my portraits, I was focusing on the framing, therefore I let my subject do whatever he wants in front of my camera. It's ok with friends I guess, but here I'll have to step my game up.
Do I talk with them ? Tell them jokes ? Asking about what kind of photos they want ?
I read about fashion photographers like Avedon, Herb Ritts, Erwin Blumenfeld, etc. So I've bit a knowledge about fashion photography.
Technically, I have a 50mm f1.4 equiv and a couple of short manual tele lenses (smc pentax). I'm only working with natural light, I don't use flashlights, but I do have a reflector. I've never had a chance to use it because none of my friend could be an assistant (talkative they'd disturb the shooting).
Based on the photos they put on their profile, it won't be those skinny models type. Not chubby though. Just in between.
What kind of framing or pose should I do in order to showcase them ? Y'all know of those girls are sensitive about their look.
Thank you /p/.
>>3068023
I really can't add much cause I've never shot models, but I would say give it a shot, be genuine, directive and try a few times.
It probably wont be what you want the first couple of time but keep going at it
>>3068025
I will anon. However, I don't want to waste her time by delivering shitty pics or not being able to direct correctly.
It's more like, I don't want to sound like a guy who has no idea what is doing.
>>3068030
so know what you're doing, take a look at 7 or 8 pictures you like, figure out the lighting, and get those shots. save them to your phone to show her what you're going for, and do that for the first 1/3rd or half of the shoot so you know you have some solid shots, then try do whatever she wants and whatever you think might be cool, it will be a lot easier to wing stuff half way through once everyone is a bit more comfortable. Also, being a "natural light photographer" is going to severely limit you, so stop that ASAP
Help me out guy's I'm thinking of making a system switch.. I'm currently a FUJI X shooter but I wan't to switch to a FF system for various reasons but mainly issues with low light and fuji's ability to handle noise at anything past iso 1600..
I honestly wan't to stay mirrorless so sony A7Rii is the obvious choice.. but I've had my eye on a 6D.. my problem is I have a lot of fuji glass, and a lee filter system designed only for mirrorless both i could use with the Sony system
>>3067431
Why the fuck do you keep asking the same shit over and over again? You've been answered multiple times. Fuck off.
>>3067431
i posted this in a thread last night all i got was a bullshit answer about fuji's being able to handle iso and noise decently.. nobody answered the question
