Hello /out/
I'm a complete newfag when it comes to adventure.I live in Kavala,Greece and there are plenty of mountains around.Me and my friends want to go on an adventure so i would like to ask what we should have with us and what to do generally.
Sorry but i haven't done this before. We will go in the morning and leave at night.
Well in Finland we diesnt have many mountains, but allways bring water when going out. Good shoes and comfy clothes.

>Kavala,Greece
Rhodopian mountains is one of the last "wild" areas in Europe, so you are lucky there. Check the snow situation first and only go for a hike when the weather is good and stable.
For a daypack you don't need that much stuff.
>Map & Compass
>Water & Food
>Good shoes
>Rain jacket
>good insulation layer (fleece jacket, woolen cap)
>lighter and pocket knife
>a small torch
>one of those alu blankets for car windshields (so you can sit down on cold ground)
>small first aid kit.
>photo gear
Should do, tell people where you are going and when you will be back. Check online on greek sites for easy daywalks for starters.
For this board, Ignore every post containing "survival" or advice from /k/ (>>682955
) it is simply bullshit.

Also, start small, half a day or a day of hillwalking will give you a good start and you don't need expensive gear. Make sure to check the weather beforehand so you get a pleasant experience.

Pretty much what this guy said
But as a fellow greek anon who enjoys hiking, I have to add that I highly recommend taking plenty of pasteli with you. For those that don't know pasteli is a sweet bar of honey and sesame seeds but it can also be made with nuts, almonds etc and is very very nutritious and filling.
Watchout the rapefugees

Bring a knife, so you don't get raped in the woods.

Become a Muslim and you can legally do the raping in the woods
