I have started looking into making my own sleeping bag.

Primaloft gear cost so much premade and living in Scotland makes down fill a bit risky.

Anyone else have experience making there own gear? I'm dreading trying to make baffles for the bag.
You guys are gonna hate me for this, but hammocks

I've made a warm-weather primaloft quilt before. It's basically just a big rectangle, with a line of stitching down the middle to keep the primaloft in place, which isn't ideal. If I did it again, I would definitely use the yarn loop method, and sew a footbox.
A sleeping bag would be a trickier piece of patterning, though.

What's your illuminati tent made out of and how are you keeping warm?

It will cost you more to make one and it will be a piece of crap.

You mean like box baffles? That'd be a pain in the ass. Probably necessary for down, but not synthetic. I wouldn't do it personally, probably better to buy something pre made and make modifications.

Not OP, but it looks like cuben. Extremly light but has the insulating properties of tissue paper.
