This is the barest thing I take when I go in the woods. It's a Maxpedition small bag. I have a Leatherman on one side with a sure fire light on the other. Inside the bag is a Fenix headlamp, a SOL emergency blanket and also is a small plastic bag inside with lighter, flint and steel, dryer lint, and Purel. The bag is pretty small and easy to carry.

This, it's pretty snazzy op. It's the only reason I came in this thread.

Oh, that reminds me since Leatherman was mentioned.
I have a squirt that I got for x mas and I love it. Handy as fuck and feels good in its actions, opening closing taking tools out etc.
Fast forward to this last xmas.
I asked for pic related.(ignore /diy/ I never got around to making that thread)

Compared to my squirt this thing feels cheap. Tools are hard to get out.
tl;dr
Can I improve the action of this thing or should I sell it and get a more expensive full-size model?

Lubricate the pivots. I usually use this, because I have it.
>>
>>672883
Wax lube huh? Wonder if my motorcycle chain wax would work...
Probably could spray out onto something then use a small brush to apply.

Do you know if the screws put any tension on those parts?
>>
>>672918
Mineral oil or gun oil works great too. I use food grade mineral oil for cleaning and lubricating my Swiss Army knives

Drier lint doesn't work for me. Cotton lint would be good but if there's polyester or other plastic stuff in it it melts and coagulates into a big blob of plastic that doesn't work as kindling for shit.

Fire arm of some sort.
Knife.
Esee 4 (sheath has sharpening stone, as well as another fire starter)

Oh, that sucks. I figured it was OP's.
>>
>>673029

It catches fire real good, but doesn't get hot enough to catch other stuff on fire.
>>
>>673224
I use it to start fires, everyone recommends it for starting fires. Synthetic fibers are made from petroleum which burns. Trust me when I say this, it's you who can't start a fire and it has nothing to do with dryer lint. From this day forward you will be known as Sherpa वेट एंड कोल्ड
>>
>>673244

I can start fires fine. I use pine needles and leaves all the time. Drier lint doesn't fucking work.

Btw, this is my 2nd post ITT. I'm not the 1st guy.

Just a reminder to never buy gun oil and go buy a quart of motor oil instead. Or crisco if FireClean was your preferred money waster of choice.

>>673737
Because I'm autistic, anon. Gosh.
>>
>>673779
Gun oils are good, hoppes is cheap as dirt anyways. Gun greases are the real scams. You can get a tub of calcium or whichever grease you need for the cost of a syringe of Gun grease.

I strongly recommend any 15W40 oil made for diesels, and if you prefer grease, get the blue-black stuff with Molybdenum in it from an auto mechanic. 15W40 takes off carbon better than almost anything I've ever used, and Moly reduces wear enormously, but go easy on it because in dusty environs it attracts dust and unlike oil the dust doesn't migrate to the corners.

If you're using an AR, the guts of it is basically like a 2-stroke Diesel engine running at one revolution per shot. 15W40 is the way to go, in my army days we found it was better than the CLP stuff for our machineguns, and we never looked back.

Just a little tip for people who like to smoke while out, buy some nice pipe tobacco and rolling papers. Makes essentially a mini cigar that's nice for a short smoke.
