This might not be the right board for this but I think you guys can help me out.

I'm looking for a cheap place to buy/get made a blanket made out of animal furs. Normally, and obviously these things are usually stupid luxury items and are ridiculously expensive and only come from designers or some shit.

I would be using it for camping with my girlfriend now that its starting to get a bit chilly.

I'm a DIY type of person but I don't know if I'd be up for killing a bunch of foxes and skinning them and...etc.

If I could exploit the shitty Canadian dollar that would be great, other then that if anyone knows a place that could make the blanket and another that I could buy the furs from that would be great.
>>
what constitutes "cheap" to you?
>>
>>666926
Preferably free, but anything under $500 really.
>>
>>666928

Coyote call and Savage Axis in .223 Rem.

$500 for an animal skin blanket? Wtf

Is there a reason you can't just use a regular blanket? For $500 you can get something MUCH warmer, MUCH more comfortable, and MUCH lighter.... and still have like $250 left over.

The front of the couch there, on the right looks like a lady in short is bending over.

Find your local trapper or trapping org and see what they have for sale. There is only one fur auction for all of NA so you can get shit cheap from buying direct since there isn't much of a market.
>>
>>666925
did a collar with fur scraps. cost 17$/bag though. you'd need at least 20 and a lot of time and thread for a blanket. pelts themselves are very very very expensive. Unless you buy the from a trapper directly I imagine.

A better option is that more fluffy fleece. I use one of those in camping and it's a similar feeling to fur.
>>
>>667187
I saw it too.
>>
Everyone in this thread criticizing OP's desire for a fur blanket is forgetting the fact that it's simply just badass and cool and OP may also still have a huge boner from watching the revenant.

>>667285
this guy gets it, I want pic/link related

>>

Maybe buy lots of fur stuff like caps and collars from flea market and saw them all together?

You can easily find furs/pelts with which to make your own.

rabbit is what you should be looking for if its more then something you hang on your wall/keep on your couch/keep on your bed.. it is the lightest and warmest for its weight. its the pre-modern fabrics ultra light gear.

if you live in an area where theres lots of rabbit you're in luck! if you can firearms. 22lr. if not, .177 pellet rifle.

Do you realize how much space that's going to occupy?
Even if you are just car camping...that's going to take up a lot of room.
>>
what about caribou?

isn't it cheap, sturdy, isolating and soft?

Literally the exact thing I'm doing this winter, same gun, caliber and target.

OP, fur isn't cheap because it's not easy to get. At least cows are docile and farmed, but you want a real bear skin rug? Better get the gun out. It's one of the few things where people actually have to go out and hunt or trap the animals to make the product.

I don't know how good of a blanket it'll make, but you could try thrifting for coats made out of pelts. My mom bought couple for max 20€
