Hi /out/
need your input here
I am a high school senior next school year and we have this summer project to motivate younger students to go more /out/ and before school brake I brought camping guide landscapes book but my teacher said we need to present more activities that are /out/ so we could really motivate the younger, so I naturally said we should present them with rock climb/hike etc but NO those were extreme.
Now I concluded that my teacher is nuts so I gave up until today when I received a message that whoever helps out with this will be excluded from classes take younger to do stuff /out/ etc.
I know I ain't too stupid but I just can't think of a way and what content do I bring to this : Teach the younger to go /out/ project.
(the idea is to spend less time facing smartphones)
Any ideas guys?
get all the kids to make little terrariums by going out in their neighborhood and getting dirt rocks and plants from a nearby park or something. My 2 cents

Why give up the chance to molest children?

Does anyone use these Kevlar gloves in their tackle boxes? https://glgear.com/collections/frontpage/products/kevlar-man-gloves
>>1061379
I wear these while jerking it
>>1061379
Why in a tackle box? Fish hooks will go right through kevlar.
>>1061379
kevlar isn't stab proof lol why do these exist
Got this for $80 at a flea market how did I do? I'm going to live off the land in western maine for four months and I think that this will be good.

Not him but Deliverance is depressing and discouraging as fuck. It's intense, and heavy, and it's nothing even close to a happy ending. Shit's actually rather devastating.
Also, to anyone who hasn't actually seen Deliverance but is familiar with one or two scenes or aspects of the movie, you really need to see it. It's like Jaws - the most well known aspects of the movie are not what make it good.
Does anyone have tips for getting up to Oregon to see the eclipse in August?
I forgot it was even happening but I am desperate to witness it in it's total eclipse path. At this point I think my best option to drive up to a National forest (likely Umatilla) and camp my ass there for a few days because traffic and general services are predicted to be totally broken all around Oregon.
Does anyone have experience with dispersed camping in OR's national forests? I can't figure out where I'm allowed to leave a vehicle for days at a time. Definitely willing to park my car and hike in.
The other option is taking a train to some population center like Bend and illegally bumming around because anything (including airbnb and people's front yards) is totally booked.

I am a lazy asshole
It's why I'm planning this late in the first place

There's also a thread about dispersed camping.
And if you need to hitch-hike there, /homeless general/ would be a good place to get information.
Well out I've started. Through a combination of walking my ass off alongside the highways and through some very lucky hitchhiking, I've made it from the Northern California coast to Reno. Planning on heading out today to walk until I can catch a ride to Salt Lake City and then Denver. Any interest in updates or following? Hope yalls adventures are going well!

>oh look, one of these threads again
YOU ARE GOING TO DIE
YOU WILL BE RAPED BY HOMELESS CRACKHEADS
YOU WILL BE BEATEN TO DEATH BY A PACK OF NEGROES
Good luck, friend!
Hello /out/, is there someway I can volunteer my time to plant trees for charity and maybe donate them, too? Live in CO.
Just go /out/ and plant some trees.

well you can get paid to do that.
ask google
Tell me about compasses. Is ti fun having one when you go around hiking?
>>1061497
might as well ask if it's fun to carry a headlamp or knife. it's first purpose is as a tool, but you can make it fun, depending on what you're interested in.
Any russians know whats out here?
Almost looks like an estate out in the middle of nowhere russia
Is this brand of backpacking stove any good. It seems to have multiple sellers on amazon, all of which get items from the same chinese supplier? Is it any good? If not, what's a better option for under $20?
I have one of these. Id say its well made. I dont use it much because I like to use the green bottles of propane though.

I have this, it works great OP. I haven't used any other camp stove but it boiled water in less than 5 minutes.
>>1061071
IMO it's the best cooking option in terms of price, portability and effectiveness that you can get until you start spending way more on things like jetboil.

Looks like someone is lost.
Im planning a camping trip this fall and am considering Allegheny national forest in pennsylvania or Wayne national forest in southern Ohio. I haven't been to either but am hoping to camp for 3 days and possibly fish. Looking for any info on either place.
I've read there are quite a bit of a tv trails and roads throughout Wayne forest. Does anyone know how true that is?
Alleghany is pretty great but it's 100 times better if you have a boat. Still, it's great for bouldering, hiking, and swimming. There are crazy glacial deposit boulders all over the place.
Are there many smaller ponds or is it the few bigger lakes and the river and reservoir?
what's the best compass for the /out/doors+

The + is a question mark
Your bog standard silva and a good map. Or better yet a gps.

nice
Okay, /out/ I need help. I saw this monstrosity at work today and have no idea what it is. But it's big, about six inches long.
