You wake up tomorrow and the world is empty. It's just you, and if you have a wife/girlfriend, them as well.

Everyone is gone.

What do you do?

Note the world has just emptied. Nothing has started to decay yet, this is day one.

whelp pretty sure most of the world's nukular reactors are going to meltdown uncontrollably within hours or days and that's gonna suck.

but i guess i'd go full Dawn of the Dead and barricade myself in a mall and spend my time collecting pétrol and power generators and as many muh guns as help me sleep at night.

Ok, listen the fuck up. I've seen a few threads about this and a few aussies suggesting buying their own land for a white village to raise their children.

I admit, at first i shitposted you guys and thought the ideas was stupid. But it's actually quite a smart idea.

So i'm a farmer in the north of victoria, with just over 2500 acres of land situated in a beautiful valley. I'm also great mates with my local council, they come over for a good aussie BBQ quite often.

I say this, because i'm in a position to get any sort of development on my land approved and legal. This means, if we were to turn my land into a new town, i could make it happen very easily.

My land is also fairly remote, right near the NSW/VIC border and far away from the cancer that is melbourne. It's also very fertile land and somewhat near tourism hotspots in winter time (snowfields).

I need strong capable and intelligent white men of all kinds, looking to build a home for their family and turn our village into a profitable and livable place for our children to live in prosperity amongst like minded peers.

If you're skilled in a Trade, Carpentry, Construction, Etc, Inquire.

Sorry if this is on the wrong board but ive been toying with the idea of buying a cab over camper for my truck.
Id be living in it for 1-2 years or until i have enough money saved for a down payment on a house.

The truck in question is a Tacoma v6 with a 6ft bed.

If i did that i could easily save 800-1000 dollars a month from not paying rent or having to commute over 100 miles a day,

Anyone have any advice or info regarding Used cab overs i can buy?

Btw my truck has all new suspension (ToyTec lift) and i would like to explore the state i live in more (Ca).

Sell your truck and get a box van and convert it campers are not designed to be lived in they are a holiday thing they are too smalll and everything breaks far to easily also if you are planning to be parked on the street you want to be as stealthy as you can a gas heater and a 2 panel solar rig make things much nicer also
>>
>>952719
Kinda this. A 6', V6 Taco bed does not leave for much camper, shell yes. But that's more for dry gear storage amd a V6 isn't going to pull much in the way of a travel trailer, at least up hills.

A used 10 footer from Uhaul could be under $3k easy, my ex neighbor bought one for his business and flipped it when he got tired of restocking chips.

Worth looking into, plus can still pull.
>>
A Tacoma has a very low payload, so any camper you can buy will have to be extremely light. Even the absolute smallest campers will put your Tacoma over payload.

They do make campers that will work with a Tacoma, but the new ones are very expensive.

These small light campers will just be a bed, and maybe a stove with a bench seat. They generally will not have any water, or a bathroom.

Even if they did have a bathroom, you'd need a place to empty your black and grey tanks. They also are not insulated for winter so you'd need to spend quite a bit on propane to keep it warm.

You also need somewhere to park it. You'll need electric hook ups, solar won't provide all you need, especially if there is electric heat or an electric water heater.

Honestly it's a terrible idea, and I can't stress this enough that you should not do it.

Just find the cheapest apartment you can find, even if it's an awful tiny dirty place, and get a roomate. You'll save just as much.

And here's a thought, you want to save for 1-2 years for a down payment, saving $1000-800 a month? So after 2 years you'll have maybe $20k? Here's a thought.... sell your Tacoma and use that as a down payment, they hold their value so you'd have some decent money. Get a beater car, something cheap, and use an FHA loan (no down payment required) for your mortgage. Simple.

I'm in the market for a blunt tip knife for salt water use. Preferably no more than $50, needs plastic sheath with good retention as it will be mounted handle-down on my PFD. I will be driving zodiacs and paddling sea kayaks, not actually diving with it.
Considering pic related Aqualung Squeeze Ti ($48), any other recommendations?

I love the idea and look of smartwatches, but until they are solar powered I won't buy one. I still love digital watches or digital+analog watches; they seem so reliable.
>>
>>951056
Understand that. What about using solar panel + battery pack?

I want something to give me a fix independent of a bearing. Should I just get a dedicated gps? Seems like a bit of a waste if you can read a map tho.

/x/ poster here

Any good places for spiritual pilgrimage? Any stories? I just want to disconnect from the world for a couple of weeks while also giving some spiritual purpose to my trip.

Go outside. Sleep on the dirt. Be happy.
>>
>>949765

Purpose of a spiritual trip is to connect with the world - we're all one man.

The best way to do that alone... would be some9whete secluded, preferably with a lot of starlight for gazing.
>>
>>949765
Howdy /x/, there are lots of good places depending on where you are and your travel budget. But >>949774 makes a good point, you don't need to find the perfect spot. Just find a spot where you can be alone and outside and strip away the annoyances and dristractions of modern life.

A campfire helps, if you're on some sort of a vision quest (like any good /x/phile should be) you can stare into the flames and let your mind wander. Same with going somewhere dark and looking at the stars like >>949784 says (if you're really lucky you might see some northern lights).

>Any stories?
Any I have are probably pretty boring to tell whatever impact they made on me, since those sorts of experiences are internal. It's too late tonight but i might greentext them tomorrow.

Because it is mainland. It may be remote but in 6-9 hours any trash from NYC and Boston could be driving down your block. It is nowhere near remote as Alaska, and the remoteness is part of the fantasy.

The ones who have coin are the ones actually doing something and/or likely already own some land.
