How does /out/ feel about dual sport motorcyclists
>>972684
They make me feel elated.
RIP my Yamaha WR250R
>drive up Highway 4 feeling world speed by all the wayto the Sierra Nevadas. Then ditch the road for some trail and tear ass through Cali's most bueatiful wilderness.
Ever chase a dear in a dirt bike?
>such a life.
After watching The Long Way Round, I've really wanted to get in to it but my wife would kill me.

The tradition of saying hi to strangers as they pass by on a walking trail ; do you think it will die out?
almost certainly
How do you feel about the tradition?
>>972368
I love it, I will never stop saying hi to people on the trail.
>>972368
You mean being polite and friendly?
>>972576
Yes, actually.
Hey /out/. Show me your favorite lures.
>>972054
Magic
Wtf is that contraption?
You can catch fish on anything as long as it doesnt spook the fish and that you give it the proper action.
Take a look at ned rigs for example.
Even the tiniest lures catch some big fish too, like a lil spoon or a colorful bead.
Hello /out/ I've recently found out the my uncle has possession of 40 acre land, I've been out there a few timedays and while I'm well versed in camping, I've been looking into building a small cabin or something of that sort on the land, I've gotten permission form my uncle to do so as long as I build it deep enough in that it's not visible from the road, I've found a good spot that I'd like to work on and while I have a couple books on the subject I'm sure there's some tips you guys might have or something of the sort?
I recall watching some YouTube videos on this subject that people where posting here but I don't remember the name of the guy, but they where really informative and had nice step by step instructions and alot of different methods aswell.
TL:DR- Looking for some tips or YouTube videos on building a small cabin in the woods, any help would be appreciated.
Not sure what kind of cabin u have in mind. But here's one video. This kind of log houses are known to last hundreds of years.

Thank you that was one of the styles I've been looking at, at this point I'm kind of a one man wrecking crew, but I think I've got a friend who may be willing to get roped into this with me, if so that'll make that method alot easier.

One fast way would be to build a frame and then board those walls.
Is it possible to just move around the US wandering until you find a new place to live?

No permits no papers?
https://youtu.be/P8JW75Lv25k
i'm kind of thinking of doing this. i figure i can get a gym membership with planet fitness to shower and roam around in my car, camp in national forests and try to get odd jobs on craigslist or temp agencies when i feel like settling in a place for a little bit.
i wonder how viable it is though.
Hi, in German we more or less call this "Landschaftsrahmen" (a rough translation maybe could "scenery frame). But what is a proper name for this in English?
>>971623
In America we call that an obstruction of a good view.
>>971628
Kek'd
>>971623
Why?
Which one should i pick?
>>971574
The price tags are not for USdollar right?
>>971574
I prefer the one with a full flat grind, all other things unknown.
Better pics
Just ordered my awesome new stick snapper from biolite. Fuck knives and hatches, the stick snapper is the way to go! What do you think /out/?
>>971507
This is a joke, right?
the only justification i can see for this is if you're an amputee with only 1 hand.
It seems that that was last year's model. Hopefully this year's model works on twigs as well

Don't camp in the ghetto.
I am going to take a short hike in a state park with some fags from school. My prof recommend us taking a PBJ sandwich. Should I put a metal lunch box inside my hiking backpack or should I just keep it in a sandwich bag?
>>971476
You're going on a hike with gay people? Why would you do that? Gay people cannot hike. You will perish from excessive gay people whining.
>>971476
Are you seven?
Don't hike with gays until twelve.
Not OP but i'very been considering upgrading from shifty plastic tuperware to a metal sandwich/lunchbox for work. I'm a forester so I'might normally working out of a vehicle so weight isn't a huge concern. I don't really wanthink a steel ammo box though before anyone says, seems like overkill. You guys got any suggestions?
I was thinking about starting a thread like that for some time now.
I'll put the few things I carry, maybe give some ideas to some, maybe others will post some interesting ideas too.
>> Compact sewing set.
This never gets mentioned, maybe young people today no longer know how to sew, but think about how stupid you'd feel, if you would rip your wardrobe or a backpack stripe in the middle of nowhere and had no way to temporary repair it.
>>Small pliers
I prefer Swiss knife & small pliers to Leatherman.
They aren't heavy, that tiny compact one on the left weighs nothing - but I haven't tested it in the woods yet, maybe it's too small.

Forgot pic...
>>Tiny glowlight the size of a match
We are all familiar with glow sticks, but not everyone knows about this one. Don't know how it's called in english, this is something designated for people who go fishing at night, they attach it to the float.
It proved to be very useful while out.
If you hold it like a cigarette it works like those tiny pocket flashlights, you can easily read a book with it, hanged in the tent will give enough light to do everything you need. They are cheap, surprisingly bright, disposable, and weightless.
Saw a couple RV related posts recently, thought we should bring them all here.
Post your RV/camper/5th wheel/pop-up/travel trailer/ect ect.
Yes we all understand you think it's dumb to own one, no reason to get mad about it.
Ask questions, post pics, get glamping.
Really only use it in the winter.
>Insulated
>Furnace
>DC and AC wiring
Fairly minimal as far as amenities go... not like i'm "camping out" in it though - it's just a place to change and sleep.
Battery runs furnace fan and lights.
Propane burner in the furnace.
Generator can fully recharge the battery (and computers) in about 3 hours.
Furnace can run 24-36h on battery alone, depending on how cold it is outside.
New trailer got completely gutted, new siding, insulated, bunch of work inside.
Garage/shop in the back 2/3, front third is living quarters.

Anybody on this board go innawoods on a dirt bike? If not, why no? I go riding at least 3 days a week out here in the NJ pine barrens reserve. Thousands of acres of woods and hundreds of miles of trail right out of my back yard. Really fun, especially with friends. Also posting some pics I took.
