What's the best national park in America (besides Alaska) to visit. I like mountains and trees, so don't recommend any parks in deserts. Currently I think The Grand Teton Park is where I'm going.

Get a clipboard and a reflection vest.

If you get caught
Say you're doing a survey for an Independent contractor.

Also excuses having a camera. But it won't excuse tools to break in, like crow bars or bolt cutters.

Old buildings often have security trigger alarms, but usually not motion detection.

Find a side hole that homeless people made. Also be prepared to encounter homeless (looking like a construction worker helps here too)

>RUCKSACK

Where the hell do I find a waterproof pack with good waist and shoulder straps?

I'd even go for a dry bag if it had good straps.

Looking for something 80L or larger, 100% waterproof, and preferably light weight. Must have epic straps.

What would you guys consider a viable candidate? Looking for extended backpacking in rain forest conditions.

>And tents. God dammit.

I can't seem to find a small enough tent. I need a VERY waterproof 2 person tent, that can pack down to a very small size. What do you think is the smallest option I could find?

You don't.

Dryvags for your kit not a dry rucksack, it's just not practical in actuality.

Sqr m comparison pu coated.fabrics are heavier, more vulnerable to abrasion and puncture.

Just buy dry bags for your gear and use a regular backpack.

But seriously when no one is doinh something (using 90l dry bag sacks) there's usually a good reason....
>>
>>981491
Almost nobody also traverses the world solo

I need gear that REI's dick isn't big enough for.

Considering making my own rucksack.

Doesn't solve my tent problem. I know I won't be able to use a hammock.

May be onto something here for anyone else interested

This pack, nice straps, 90L, and if I sprayed a can of clear flex seal on it the damn thing would be a raft. A can of flex seal is only like 16 oz so it wouldn't add too much weight.

I for one think using flex seal on just about anything would be fantastic.

>questions/concerns?

>the tent

For this I could also likely find the smallest possible 2 person tent, and yet again, use clear flex seal to make it 100% waterproof.

Again

Questions/concerns?

Is flex seal the ultimate way to get into extended backpacking?!

So, as some of you may know, In Russia you can just apply to win a free hectare of land in the far east frozen tundra and if you can develop it in 5 years the goverment lets you keep it forever. ( https://www.rt.com/business/345022-russia-far-east-free-land/ )

As far as I ahve been able to see, this offer is only valid for Russian Nationals. However I am still going to try to apply for it by pestering my local Russian Embassy and talking to some people there. I may be able to work something out ( Being Brazilian and part of the BRICS economic block may help me ) or even adquire a second nationality with them (Getting it only requires paying some taxes to russia every year apparently. Not that hard.)

How would the people of /out/ go about working to make that land in those 5 years to get to keep it? What sort of crops would you raise in that frozen tundra? How would you build your small house there? How would you deal with the though weather and land to make nature your bitch? What sort of hilarious hijinks would you go through?

We have had threads like this one previously, my biggest doubt is in regards of the quality of the land that you are given to. It will probably be some shithole middle of bumfuck nowhere where your provisions have to be dropped by air or something like that.

That being said it's in fact interesting thing to look at with more detail. As far of growing stuff there you'll need some type of greenhouse to take the most advantage of it.

Anyway I kinda like Russia but desu I don't really trust many things there, from access to healthcare to them having your personal info so it's not for me. I'm an Euro and my government from time to time does similar shit like offering beneficies for people willing to go live in old villages and such, you being a Brazilian have nothing to lose anon.

>my biggest doubt is in regards of the quality of the land that you are given

Me too. I am looking at what the best plots of land they have to offer are. If I go through with this I will try to get something as far south as possible, just north of the Machuria. Idealy somewhere relatively close to a city (1km to 15km) so I can get internet and electricity without too much hassle.

>As far of growing stuff there you'll need some type of greenhouse to take the most advantage of it.

Also true. I was thinking of having most of the land open but with a 10mx10m greenhouse so I dont stop my crops fully for 7 months a year.

>you being a Brazilian have nothing to lose anon.

2true4me my dude. I have about 5000US$ in brazil money with me in total savins. I could probably get started there.

How is it Montana really like? And I ask this as an European, I have this glorified imagine of a place with crystal clear water, green pine trees, dark grey mountains, few, dispersed people.

Do you think the type of person who shoots has changed over the last 15 years I shot pigeions and went wild fouling occasionally shot pheasants with my dad when I was a kid and most people seemed quite normal country types but was talking to a mate who said these days it's a lot more London banker types also what do you think of the guns on your shoot
>>
>>978322
Most certainly.

Nowadays I'd say at least 80% of our clients are more often than not city folk and mostly work in some sort of financial background.

It's a shame but I feel that especially on our Pheasant, Duck and Partridge shoot you'll rarely see farmer Brown from down the lane. I've heard this from many other keepers throughout the UK and it's general consensus that due in part to how much some of us charge per bird (£30-£50) it seems out of reach for the ordinary person. Although our shoot holds 'invite days' where keepers invite friends and family to shoot, most people don't really get the exposure to game shooting the same way I did when I was much younger (3-4ish, im 20 now)

Pigeons and wildfowling still remain some of the best sport, pigeons especially. They're such an unpredictable quarry that although you know when and where they're going to come in from, you have no clue how they'll do it.

Most keepers, excluding most I know but perhaps that's our mentality, treat the father and son shooting pheasants for fun as poaching, which it's certainly not. But as long as you shoot them after the season ends, you'll be doing us keepers minimal harm as long as you stick to shooting cocks. (we need those precious hens for laying)

Thanks for the question!
>>
Fellow UK fag, own 100 acres in Scotland. Surrounded by lots of forests.

I mostly shoot deer and fox, shot a few ducks + pigeons. I like the idea of going on a shoot but it seems awfully expensive.

What do you shoot with? How far are you comfortable with taking down a deer? I personally wouldnt go beyond about 250yds

Get a fire going with oak wood, then hang your fish or whatever above it.

Next you get a fireproof blanket thing and cover up the fish and the fire

The fire will go out and start to smoke. Make sure you close up the blanket very well on all sides

You can simply do this in your backyard if you want
