So I've come here today with a question. How do I cut down a tree quickly. and quietly? I want to merc a tree in front of a school but I don't know how I should do it. I'm thinking a gas chain saw is too loud, I don't have an electric, and I know nothing about axes and handsaws. I'm just asking for some knowledge from people with tree cutting experience. Side not, it is a m/s sized tree.

>>
Powerful chainsaw and a wedge.
If done right you can drop the tree in less than 5 and flee the scene.

Other options include gasoline to light it on fire or drilling a hole center mass and placing a home made Bangalore.

Regardless it won't be quite, focus on anonymity/escape/response time instead.
>>
Just cut it with a petrol chainsaw and get out of there, Nothing you really can do unless u want to sit down with a saw. How thicc is the tree?

today i was walking in the woods near my house and came across a weird chestnut looking thing under a fallen tree. i went to tap it with my foot and as soon as i touched it it fell apart into brown dust or sand. i'm sure it's some type of spore or something. location is central ontario, canada

You think that's wierd?

I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;
And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.
When I had laid it on the floor
I went to blow the fire a-flame,
But something rustled on the floor,
And someone called me by my name:
It had become a glimmering girl
With apple blossom in her hair
Who called me by my name and ran
And faded through the brightening air.
Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done,
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.

I know for hunting you have to find clothing that doesn't make a bunch of noise and a camo pattern similar to the environment, but is there anything else I should know about?

Depends on the hunting, how much you need to move around. I wear swiss alpenflage in the winter because of all the pockets, its warmth, and the camo does a great job blending in everywhere, even snow
>>
>>980822
Alot of fags thinqk the camo has to match exactly, but the more you roll around in dirt and leaves, the more stains you get and the more it looks right. Well worn acu blends in to whatever because of all the white squares that stain.

In my opinion it is better to do your stalking before hunting season and set uwp a stand or blind where you predict the game will go. If you do that you can wear blue jeans and a tshirt if you want.

Greetings fellow /out/ists

I'm planning an action packed hiking trip to the US to celebrate me finishing college, and because of the fact that this might be my last 3 month vacations since I'd have to find a job once I'm back and also start my post graduate.

Problem is I'm from the southern hemisphere, so I can only take this vacations from late december to late march, which of course means winter. Since during winter doing the PCT is not an option, I thought of doing the southern half of the AT.

Is this a good idea? if so then:

>How far can I get in 2 months if I start from Georgia?
>How much money should I bring?
>How will the climatic conditions be in january-february? (cold, snow, rain, etc)
>Should I be worried about the wildlife I might encounter?
>How many people might I encounter on the trail in that time of the year?

Thanks in advance and please advice me on anything I might not be considering.

Also, I might add that I have limited experience hiking.

I hiked argentinian patagonia both in summer and winter, but I stayed at a hostel, so I have little to no experience camping, let alone in cold conditions.

Aliens will rape you.

>Better get up here soon José cuz it'll be hard to hike when Donny's wall is in yer way! Lol.

Anyways, it gets really cold in the far south and far north during the winter because the mountains are highest at those points. You may be better off starting in Virginia and hiking Maryland and maybe Pennsylvania where it will be warmer. As far as distance from the GA start goes, it depends entirely on how much snow falls. Especially in the Smokies.

Don't try to plan how far you're going to go, especially if you have limited experience. Just pack lightly but make sure you'll be comfortable enough. Make whatever miles you make, figure things out when it's time to go home.

DEFINITELY get AWOL's guide book -----> http://www.theatguide DOT com

I would bring about $100 cash at the beginning, but make sure you have means to get more later (bank account whatever). Once you get yourself established hiking, you'll probably want to carry less.

You probably won't see that many people.

You probably will see more wildlife than usual, and if you're not an idiot, it will be a interesting and memorable experience.

Hope this helps José

How feasable is it to travel across America hitch-hiking. I'm an Anglo /out/ist male and have read about Chris Mccandless. He got around with practically no cash however this was in the 70's/80's. Today is different and I know not much is free these days.

What alternatives to hitchhiking are there. I want to travel from East to West.

Thoughts?

I am actually planning to hitchhike the us, a lot of the information i have got is from hitchwiki which is really good.

I think although it is harder to hitchhike today and a lot harder to jump freights it is easier to connect yourself with people that can help, like workaway.info where people offer bed & board in exchange for work or couchsurfing where you can stay in peoples homes for free, theres also a section on the app for meeting other travellers.
>>
>>979293
differs by region and by state
for example, you'll get harassed by cops for hitch hiking in new jersey

also you can't hitch hike on interstates, so very long distances are hard
>>
>>979334

How easy is it to free load on a freight train?

I'm looking for a new daypack, preferably with an arched, trampoline back, between 20-30l.

Is this Berghaus a good buy for £35 ($44) ? Is Berghaus stuff still good quality, or it's just for fashion now?

It weighs in at a total of 13.8lbs, hiking poles not included. The pack is made out of Cuben Fiber, same material competitive sailing has been using to construct sails for the last decade or so. Tent is made out of the same thing, it's ridiculously light.

Also, no nudes.

We all have those woods we would play in when we were growing up, right?

Did the same thing happen to yours? Did they cut all the trees down and build houses over it?

When I was a kid I'd steal equipment keys and gas cans over night to slow down the construction. Where else would the deer go? Neighborhood on one side, highway on the other, what other woods did they have?

And what about all of the neighbor kids, where would we play?
