I want this
which album is better guys? jimmys kind of sounds like a continuation of the dave driving soundtrack
also what are some good driving soundtracks?
just get a 90's-cocaine-testarossa-miami-paradise suzuki across
an l/p-plater riding anything custom-looking will probably get fucked (as you probs already know)
>tfw driving around to future funk proto vaporwave during the day and listening to ambient synthpop like Daves at night
Everyone needs to know this feel. Is the /dat/ music page still being updated? I got some shit I need to add.
It depends on the mood and what kind of vaporwave. Future funk is vaporwave but uses funk tracks as the base and adds a lot of compression and effects. Here's two faves of mine
This guy back again. Should I try and get the guy I know back down to $7,000? The car is worth the $10,000 he's asking for and he'd probably get it if he waits long enough for the right buyer. But I want to buy the car now so will that give me any edge at all?
Vaporwave is kind of an umbrella term now. That meme tier slowed down 80s shit is still around but there's tonnes of cool stuff out there. I agree too, future funk is some good shit.
Is he that moron with a Mazda that thought changing the spark plugs added a few grand to the price?
>Is he that moron with a Mazda that thought changing the spark plugs added a few grand to the price?
No, but I was the guy who wanted to buy that. Won't say what the car I want to buy now but will of course reveal it if I do buy it.
installing a car radio
Ive been coming across people talking about radio codes, no videos ever mention this.
my haynes manual also mentions this but no videos or online guides make any mention.
anyone who's installed a radio here? dont want to fuck up.
radio codes are generally codes you enter into the radio when you first install if so that if its stolen and put into a new car, they cant use it. generally only stock units have codes though.
if you have the manual for your car, have a look in that.
Radio codes are annoying, Everytime my dad takes the battery out or it dies etc he asks me for the code because i memorised it when i had to figure it out manually because there was no service book saying the radio code.
the previous owner of my shit box took the stock unit out and engraved the code onto it.
the code is there for security so if it's stolen it can be used but he's made it clear for anyone who happens to take it... doesn't matter anyway because fuck stock units.
>The Bradfield Highway is designated as a Travelling Stock Route which means that it is permissible to herd livestock across the bridge, but only between midnight and dawn
Holy shit, why has no one done this yet?
>I bought a wiring harness. there is a yellow and black wire running from the harness that isnt connected to anything.
and that would be why it's not turning off.
did you fucking read the manual anon? I bet you didn't. don't fucking lie, I know you didn't.
take 45 seconds to read it and you'll know what to do.
yeah i didnt, stupidly assumed harness would be foolproof.
there isnt a reciprocating yellow and black wire, so im not sure where that goes.
blue/white on radio side arent connected to blue and white on car's side.
sorry, just not very knowledgeable about electronics.
everything that comes up is spanish/turkish/italian.
only english video which comes up is a guy just plugging the harness in which isnt helpful.
this constant connecting/disconnecting car battery is doing my head in lol
>oh no I couldn't possible watch a video where they are showing me what to do they're speaking another language.
fine, fine! go watch might car mods, that shit's in Australian English and you'll have Marty and Moog tell you what to do.
nah m8 stereo installs were done before they sold out so it's just the two of them.
watching old eps from season one right now.
>cheap diy mods that you can do at home yourself
oh how I miss the good old days...
it turns off after 1 minutes and 40 seconds after car is off
should this be a problem?
i cant have wired it directly to the battery if this happens.
fromwhat ive readonline heaps of aftermarket radios stay on for up to 10 minutes after car is turned off.
i dont know why people buy skodas. they're literally the bogan cars of europe and they're built by czechoslovakians. buying a euro car built by a former soviet state is all kinds of bad.
an 80s mercedes. no really, they have the softest suspension after jaguars. some guy on /dat/ even made a song about them, thats how damn good they are.
i dont know why people buy VL commodores. they're literally the bogan cars of australia and they're built by derros and abbos. buying a euro taxi built by a former and current convicts is all kinds of bad
no shit. i had some bitch tailgating me and then switching lanes constantly. i got ahead of her in a lane next to her at the stop lights and ended in front of her again, which forced her to do the speed limit. her rage was top level when the car next to me matched my speed.
>tfw no LAND CROOZAH
it hurts sometimes...
no, fuck you. it's vans, BMW's, asian hatchbacks
merc drivers are either P plater fuckheads with no cats and oakleys or pensioners who got their 2016 G-class AMG Mercs from their superannuation fund payment. So it's retards and old people. Cant really blame their shittiness because they're mentally handicapped.
falcodore ute drivers here in melbourne are generally the most civilised bunch of people on the road.
dont normally post much on /o/ but saw aus thread,
old man passed away and got his shed key.
had two project cars in his workshop.
88 vette and an 89 fairlady z32.
so selling my Imported MR2 to a friend for 10k or so for enough cash to get one of my old mans projects on the road and be living memorabilia. opted for the corvette because the GM motor seemed a little bit easier to work on than the Upside down vg33 in the fairlady.
after thorough going over of car, doesn't need much , new radiator as the plastic end tanks have perished on one side , so slow leak, and tensioning of fanbelt. drove it to mechanic a few days ago , turned key for first time in 14 months literally untouched since my old man drove it last.
Danger Zone on mix tape in tapedeck.
tears and feels.
I'm not a robot.
dropped it off at mechanic for general service and new radiator and alternator since it's there.
hope the rest of you are having a good week.
I'm jealous. Tfw I'll never drive a Corvette on the highway blasting Danger Zone.
you can do anything anon
think the fairlady actually puts out a few more horses
but so much needs to be done i just couldnt justify the money
dont have as much mechanical knowhow as my old man.
m8, with that ratio you could use a 500kg milo tin.
>Replace 25 year old springs with new ones
I like this album but most Vaporwave bores me.
Grandpa used to own two V12 E-Types. Running joke was by the time he got one back from being fixed he'd go drop the other one at the shop.
>they're literally the bogan cars of australia
I'd say they were, they're getting old now and honestly I'm not seeing them nearly as often as I was even five years back.
There is an exception for essential modifications, eg if something fails and you HAVE to use an aftermarket part, but the replacement has to be more or less identical to OEM.
The other exception is air filters if I recall, as long as they are designed fit in the original air box.
I've got an aftermarket RPI exhaust system on it. Sounds like a fucking Lamborghini once you pass 5000 RPMs.
507 bhp. Crazy fast and extremely loud. Makes me smile everytime I drive it.
>A Melbourne teenager discussed painting a kangaroo with the Islamic State group's symbol, packing it with explosives and letting it loose on police as part of an alleged terror plot on Anzac Day, court documents have alleged.
>Yo dawg, we heard you like v8 engines so we put a v8 on your v8 so now you can v8 while you v8
Even sounds like a little v8 on the test bench as well.
>he got 2
He bought them new in 1973. Waited something like six months to get them with the close-ratio four speed.
This though >>14330511. One day if I have throwaround money I want to do an S85 swap into an E36 M3. There's a dude who put one in a compact 318i and left the badges on, hilarious shit.
Killer. E60 M5 are one of my all time favourites. The best thing about them is they aren't really too flashy. The engine speaks so much for itself the car doesn't need to act fast. Does that make any sense?
Remember seeing a supercharged S85. Was making something like 700-800hp.
>just under 200,000km
Will this car explode the first chance it gets?
first time buyer http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/varsity-lakes/cars-vans-utes/2008-holden-epica/1102436360
Yeah im thinking too good to be true for the age.
im considering this just for the assholes that go by every hr or so
>having shit tier taste
>not post-ironically enjoying that perfect 80s production
Help me /dat/
I've been a neet for about a year
I was meant to take a gap year after hs but all I did was fuck around at home and drink with mates, and now the uni year is starting soon
My sleep cycle is fucked, I have no job, no car and no money. What the fuck do I do, I feel like I'm a failure.
as long as you're at least looking for a job and thinking about what you want to do, you're not a failure. i'm in the same situation as you but i've been learning other languages and learning piano in the meantime. get hobbies and shit man, doing something is better than nothing.
Download an alarm for your phone, set it for 8am and get up and stay up for one day, that's how i fixed my sleeping pattern.
I also did a gap year, it was such a waste of time I wish I went to uni instead. Go to uni or get a job, simple.
sorted out the not turning off.
now memory gets wiped everytime i turn off car.
yellow and red are connected.
all wires are connected except yellow/black which seems to go no-where and doesnt get mentioned in the manual.
>Pull up at lights
>Cops in wagon pull up next to me
>Light turns green for us to to turn
>Lancer evo on other side of lights runs red light and swerves through the give way sign so he doesn't wait behind the cars at the other lights blasting past atleast 80km from a stand still with turbo spool going off
>everyone freezes at lights
>expect cops to turn siren on and pursuit
>just keep on driving slow on their previous course
yeah what the fuck
>/dat/ Steam Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/DailyAusfagThread/
lol that's just sad, jimmy
Nah, It's just easier for me to use a market one. Click 2 buttons and alarm is set for whatever I want it to, and it leaves it in the notifications so you look at it everytime you look at your phone.
Cops never react how you think
>Few month ago sitting at lights
>Used to turn bikes idle speed up due to cold weather
>Decide to turn it back down while waiting
>Brainfart and twist it the wrong way
>Revs jump to 4k
>Cop next to me revs back
I thought I was fucked.
>falcodore ute drivers here in melbourne are generally the most civilised bunch of people on the road.
>Click on webm expecting skidz and smoke
>Cunt can't even get it to hang out
>Not a single mark on the road but plently on the parked car
Literally how? My 5 litre Xh would go nuts and this ute should surely have more power/better equipped to light em up?
Read any good books lately?
Keep clicking the random page button on Wikipedia until you find something interesting.
Or see how long it takes you to get from a random page to Hitler, idk.
What does /o/ think of Outbacks?
I want a wagon for around the $10-12k mark which is big and comfortable enough to sleep in, as well as being fairly easy and cheap for a newfag to repair.
Pad made for OP, copypasta just got easier!
Add more useful /dat/ related shit m90s.
This is the latest bike guide version I saved.
Is there a more recent one?
found a car I want but the stock engine has been swapped out for something else, reason was because the original engine died not because the owner was after more power. I just want to know if I buy this is it P Plate legal or what?
give me ONE (1) good reason not to buy something like this (apart from "it's not 80's")
>see ad for new mitsi challenger
>now called the pajero sport
>literally say "the best family SPORTS CAR"
Well, they were always called "Pajero Sports" in the majority of global markets anyway.
But then, I'm only interested in the one that's packing a 4M.
Not a bike I'd want to learn on honestly. The balance on them is really odd and the centrifugal clutch stops you learning how to shift.
They're great fun, but the skills from a CT110 don't really transfer to other bikes.
I'd probably add the RVF400 as well.
Get the owner to drop it to you for some extra cash. When I got my first car (old manual shitbox) I was horrible the first time I drove it, horrible the second, then I could suddenly do it on the third day.
In SA it most likely wouldn't be legal for a P plater. Even if the engine was a factory standard it'd be considered a performance upgrade since the rest of the car isn't the same as the model with the engine.
The one exception I can think of is recall/warranty engines where the equivalent replacement makes more power than the original. That's a pretty rare situation though.
I've got 2 grand and need a car, what's the best I can get?
I wanna learn manual and I want it to be semi reliable/comfy.
(on my greens if that matters)
I'm not from Australia but I just have to post these pics because they are so
R A D I C A L
Can someone add these two to the next thread OP? Half of this thread is people asking for car recommendations.

Probably not a large enough file size or resolution for the compression to kick in.
Upload it to one of the pomf clones like mixtape.moe
Just saying cause people assume they're bad on fuel but don't understand the extent on how shit they are on fuel.
Its got a button to switch fuel tanks that gets heavy use lol
only makes 20 more hp than the i6 but quite a bit more torque.
It's like 280hp IIRC and roughly 400nm of torque.
Obviously its not built for power output. a testarossa engine is smaller displacement with way more hp and torque.
I will never understand why people build classics with old tech, unless they are going for a restoration, there is no point. Stock 351 clevelands only makes 224kw and stock 4L turbos make like 300kw and weigh 100kg less.
Holden 308 makes 180kw and stock LS3 makes over 350kw stock
Probably better than most cars, Australian cars were designed to handle the roughest roads, they'd rust pretty easily i reckon.
Pretty sure the Barra weighs more than a 351
Also it's not cheap or easy getting a new engine in an old car, especially the electronics
And 351 is a powerhouse for very little effort and money. Far better choice financially
Your post is stupid
>Pretty sure the Barra weighs more than a 351
Cleveland Weighs 250kg
Barra weighs 175kg
>Also it's not cheap or easy getting a new engine in an old car, especially the electronics
That's what I don't understand about this country, you pay almost 6 figures to put an engine that has better emissions, better fuel economy, better driveability, etc. and in other countries you pay fuck all to do the swap. Electronics aren't hard either.
>And 351 is a powerhouse for very little effort and money. Far better choice financially
It's a good choice for most things but not all
175kg for a BARE SOHC LONG BLOCK
Holy fuck people are stupid, look up the weight of a FULLY DRESSED BARRA TURBO and get back to me
> other countries you pay fuck all to do the swap
Are parts free in other places or something?
Just shut up kid it's painfully obvious you have zero fucking clue
>Friend got his grill plus volkswagen badge plastidipped
>Looks bad, all black on a white car
>Already starting to peel
>Ask him where he got the cans so I could grab some more and fix it. May look shit but it was triggering me
>"I didnt buy them, got a place around from me to do it for only $300"
Why are vw owners so retarded. $300 for badly done plastidipping just blows my mind.
He's pretty dumb with money, comes from a rich family and since his parents paid the 10k for the car he has too much money to throw around.
Me on the other hand worked at fast food and coles through highschool to buy my car and had to do all the work on it myself.
That's the problem, They will never be taught the value of money. He will just get things for free from his parents, he will always waste money and try to live the rich life in his 20s and fail. They are good to be friends with because you can sell them shit for more than it's worth.
I have a rare /dat/ sticker for my bike. Where should I put it? Already have the wat aticker in pic related location and can't decide whether to put it under it or somewhere else.
Grandpa used to always respond to questions about his V12 Jag's fuel economy with, "If you have to ask, you can't afford to drive it." Did something like 20-25L/100km.
I should throw one on my CBR once it's rebuilt. Not putting any stickers on my current bike though.
Yeah, My dad has an EH Wagon Special sitting in the carport and once a month we get a knock on the door people asking if it's for sale. Dad told them it's for 50k (so high that no one buys it). Then there was this 1 guy my uncle knows and he asked how good a 289w powered xr fairmont was on fuel, It has to be the stupidest question asked for cars like those.
>It has to be the stupidest question asked for cars like those
You get it for all sorts of stuff though. People are always surprised that my bike is thirsty in comparison to theirs, what do they expect?
Bikes use nothing though, I don't think i've seen a bike that uses over 5L/100km.
The commodore I currently drive because my daily 's motor fucked itself big time uses more fuel than a LS1 powered commodore and it's a v6
>Jesus, That uses the same amount as my GFs Hyundai. What bike is it?
R1. It uses about the same fuel as the Mirage I had briefly. Does make three times the power though.
I usually get 160-180km before the fuel light comes on.
Not bad, My dad has a DR350 and the tank lasts him a month he travels 10km a day so thats about the same fuel economy as you
R1 would be good fun, My dads co-worker had an R1 or R6 with a joker on the back fender, that bike was fucking quick though.
