Keep it stock and stick to Mitsubishi fluids and parts when doing maintenance/repairs and the car will outlast you. Another obviously option that I'm going to get shit posted for is a 2015 wrx.

It's available as a cvt, which I've driven and it's actually great, and it comes with a new twin scroll fa series motor.
The car makes boost fast, is very comfortable inside, looks way more mature than before, and the cvt is actually great if you want an auto. There are different shift modes giving you the option to shift from 5-8 different "gears". There's no annoying winding out like other cvts as it holds to mimic gears. While it's in a little bit of a different catagory as the evo mr there are a good amount of advantages.
It's still being made. It's brand new, not from 08. And its much cheaper to buy and own. It's at least worth checking out.
