ITT: You say one nice thing about your car, and you say one thing that drives you nuts. The rest of us try to guess what it is.
>Grips like the freshman girlfriend who tried to impress you
>why the fuck won't you stop rattling
With that description it was probably a toss up between the WRX and Evo.
beast 0 to 30 time
lots of interior space
back seat acts as a strut brace
long throw suspension and good ride hight
passenger door can only be locked from the inside
doors cant be closed while locked
can dent most trees it hits
sitting in the centre of the roof or bonnet does no damage to the panels
30 to 60 takes forever
vague gear lever
light but grabby clutch
body roll of the gods
bad fuel consumption given its slow speed
either speed or street triple
i had a street prior to the speed. the SD is a buddy of mine
Currently transitioning to a Ram 1500 on Thursday so I will do both.
>easy to handle, decent on gas
>fucking annoying 4 cylinder engine and fucking fiat
>dat manly V8, tons of fucking room, have a fucking bed on wheels, makes my dick feel less small
>has a fucking automatic tranny
Wait shit didnt read the instructions properly
Not even close, unfortunately. It wasn't an easy one to guess.
2014 scion FR-S, yes sir. It was this or a FiST but I liked the way this looked for one, has a larger aftermarket, and RWD was a plus. Nothing bad in the fiesta though, they are fantastic little cars, but just not the car I wanted. And I got the FRS for a lot cheaper than the fiesta.
honestly, i've never got why people complain about that thing being slow. it felt flike a fucking starship when i tested one, a GT86.
then again, the fastest car i had driven more than an hour prior to that was a VAZ-2106
im better off now though
Man, fuck it, that's close enough. LeBaron GTC Turbo II
There's a gasket troubled perfect tan body one for sale near me with tan interior for about 600€, so like 800 or so USD.
Same 2.2 intercooled 174hp engine as mine in 5 speed manual, but with better paint.
Finland. THere's like one in mint condition running for 3k€. I'm so, so, so tempted to sell my E32 and get that fucker, but then I would have two LeBarons and my garage can hold only one of them.
I remember seeing one with leathers, hard top, 2.2 intercooled and 5 speed manual for 2 grand, but it needed some bodywork done.
I'm talking about my 7 series BMW here.
I do own a Benz though too, a W123 300D, but no way in hell that one would warrant for LeBaron money, it's a fucking terrible shitbox.
Yeah, I'm gunning for a 730 straight six manual as my winter car that I'm going to pass down to my sister when she gets her license, going to keep my 300C and LeBaron after that.
Going to devote myself completely to Chrysler products till the day I die.
My first ever car was that LeBaron that I'm still rocking. Put about 120k km on the fucker and still running strong, thing's been driven like your typical teenage kid with his first turbocharged car would drive, I raced every single honda and VW I could find.
For me, Chrysler products have been some of the most reliable ones I've owned, giving me pretty much zero problems during the years.
Only managed to break one, a Neon that I tried turbocharging and ruined the 2nd gear synchronization. Hit a curb with that thing and decided that it was time for it to go to the junker.
The 2nd gear synchro was kinda my fault. I mean, the clutch was already showing age and wear, but I decided to push it. The fucker got some massive slip when I was on the highway. Decided to stop by the next gas station and pull over, 2nd gear was showing some major trouble so I decided to just force it in gear. That was a huge mistake and that groan from the transmission seemed to agree.
Yeah, nothing else done except the turbo. I mean, the car was a major shitbox when i got it, thing had been neglected all its life and I couldn't be arsed to spruce up a 300€ shitbox with 300k on the clock.
My GF had one completely base but it had the shitty 3speed auto in it, I wish it had been manual so I could have taught her and it would have helped get out of its own fucking way as well
Seats 7 and is fantastic on logging roads with the locking diff in mud and snow
Three doors is a pain in the ass, only two windows roll down, hot bitch in the summer with no AC if you sit in the back.
I'd really like a SRT4 Neon, but they were never sold in Finland, probably never sold in yuropoor in general. would have to import it, but that would make it the ultimate USMD machine. Or just buy a GT Cruiser engine and drop it in a Neon or my LeBaron.
But yeah, the autotragics in those were horrible. Replacing one over here runs about 5 grand
small block v8, comfy, really durable and a trunk that can fit anything, yet still better mileage than any SUV.
cons (arguably also a pro): people usually slow down rather than speed up when they see me (dead giveaway)
I would drop the GT cruiser engine in a neon, you'll have less issues with fitment, ECM/TCM, and there are a fuck ton of parts for the platform, its also stuffer than the LeBaron, and it should be kept a 2.2 turbo anyways
Judges? Ding! It's a "civilian" model though, the LX - custom ordered leather seats, EATC, [comparatively] fancy audio, etc.
The 60/40 bench is comfy but a PITA sometimes.
