How far can you make it into the video?
I made it 3 minutes before I closed it out.
Looks like he just death grips the wheel in place as soon as he loses traction, then starts sawing away at the wheel while he's spinning, pretty odd. If you spun twice in the same session at track days I go to you would get pulled off the track.
>incredibly obnoxious faggot smile
>"lol ~faaaiill~ I suck at this ~ look how much I fail ~" attitude
>piss annoying voice
didn't even survive 3minutes of that fucking heap of a video
>ITT: benchracers criticize inexperienced drivers who are out enjoying their cars.
I don't understand the problem. He's learning.
Most of you faggots don't even have cars, let alone track them.
This looks faked; otherwise they would have been weeded out through dying on actual highways for losing it. You wouldn't go to the track to be a dumbass all day unless you were there for a purpose - being a youtube jackass.
There seems like there is something wrong with the suspension geometry or the way he has his car setup, that level of oversteer and bump steer seems terrible, maybe his suspension is way over damped or over sprung because that looked terrible.
Like I said at most track days if you spun twice in the same session you would get black flagged and booted, yet somehow tons of people manage to not spin out over and over. If you can't learn by repetition like the guy in the OP seek instruction, because any of the trying he is doing isn't going anywhere.
this video totally make him look like one of these people who think maximum hard suspension means fast by default.
seriously, there are tons of idiots who just makes everything hard as possible without thinking things through
out of curiosity, what happens when you get booted? Do you get chewed out by the organizers or blacklisted form further events? Or do they just give you an understanding "hey, maybe you should probably try taking a performance driving course before the next event" sort of thing.
>benchracers being mad that he didn't break down crying and prostrating himself before the car gods as soon as he spun out
I don't know the exact procedure since I've never fucked up that bad, but they aren't going to blacklist you, most likely they would send you out with an instructor the next session and he would give the OK if you are good to go or not. 99% of people after spinning once cool down a bit, take it down a notch, and slowly ramp back up over a few sessions, not just go do the same thing over and over, the OP video guy is just an outlier who doesn't belong on a track that has other drivers on it and will likely always be that way since he demonstrates he doesn't have a mind that can learn from repetition.
They've only ever booted one person at my track when I've been there. If you spin out once in a session, it's fine, but twice and they usually make you take an instructor on the next session so he can tell you how much you suck and help you fix your errors
Wait, how? It doesn't even seem like they're moving that fast.....how are they spinning out so much? Am I just blind and they're actually taking these turns at 140?
Legitimate question. Can someone explain please?
>RWDlards think that "oversteer" is good
lmao meanwhile my civic cuts corners as if it's on rails with a few simple mods.
These kids would be found embedded into siderails if they were on my touge. Just saying, no hard feelings but RWD will never ever ever compete.
I'd like a more detailed answer to this as well. I can see that the road is not in the best condition but can someone explain the other things wrong with this?
Seriously? This fucking guy welded the pipe to the turbo outlet on a near 90 degree angle just to clear the radiator, flow is fucked, turbo is fucked, and reliability is fucked. Not to mention the additional heat from the rad. Professional installation right there.
After years of tracking FWD cars in the Honda Challenge I bought a AP1 my first half a track day went just like this. Then one of my buddy's sat me down at launch and explained how to drive a MR car. For the most part you can't modify your speed in a corner. you select a entry speed and stick with it, lifting in an AP1 means you go careening ass first in to the run-off. My family owns a self serve junk yard and all the s2ks that come in her are smashed in the sides or rear.
This is all I need
But I (2nd moment of area of a shape, say a chassis) is a good analogue for the flexural stiffness of a structure and J (Polar moment) is a good analogue for the torsional stiffens, for vehicle control you want all of the wheel movement to be relative to the chassis and to achieve this you need a stiff chassis with relatively soft suspension.. You can't do that with a convertible because it's missing one of the main shear planes (and as I'm sure you know the distance between shear planes increases the I & J values as a square rule). So to achieve the same wheel rate relative to the road you need to use stronger springs and dampers and include the undamped chassis flex, this gives less control over the wheel geometry and contact with the road. Hence why Corvette, Aston Martin, Porsche and Ferrari all run the hard top versions of there cars in racing.
>im a girl btw
>feels need to irrelevantly identify gender on anonymous board
I cant stand it when bitches think their gender matters when it comes to their opinion
I wish I took a picture of this but... sadly all I can tell you is the story
>Cousin works at a "Japanese" restaurant
>I go there a lot because it is close, I chat with him every now and then, its chill
>see a red corvette boat-tail pull in
>Older guy goes in, gets his food
>I was in a rush so I didn't go talk to him
>walk outside, notice that suspension in the rear is SAGGING
>notice trailer hitch mounted to the car, an 5 inch drop hitch mounted upside down
>start to cringe
>fast forward 3 weeks
>eating there again
>by chance corvette guy shows up again
>try to initiate car talk esque conversation
>Oh, that's just my 65 vette, it 'pulls pretty good'
>almost lose my lunch
>about to say something, but he excuses himself and leaves
>watch the car drive off towards the neighboring home despot parking lot
>all of my cringe
>there is a twelve foot landscaping trailer loaded up with mulch sitting in the parking lot
>watch this dude hitch his car to it like he does it all the time
>watch as a very sad corvette tugs a pile of bagged mulch off
>fast forward a month
>corvette guy shows up at sansui again, this time with a ford ranger
>"transmission blew, sold the 'vette."
CAN'T WAKE UP.
There is only one way to help this guy. Every time he enters a corner in the middle of the track, or worse..., I get to punch him in the balls. Either he stops or he loses the ability to procreate. I consider that help.
sounds like you have never driven a MR or any of the cars we are talking about this place is full of neets peace out
Is he actually in neutral going down the highway
fuck me with the sharp side of a shovel but what the hell is engine braking?
I've been driving a 93 toyota pickup with a 5 speed for the past year and I've heard people say this and I have no idea what it mean. it's probably something I do without knowing the correct term.
I mean, why the fuck would you put it in neutral when you're going down the highway, not even preparing to stop or anything. He just pulled out, floored it, fucked every gear change, then str8 to neutral.
You can powershift without dumping the clutch, and you can dump the clutch without powershifting
Yea he's pegging the rev limiter for the fraction of a second that the clutch is in, but he's FUCKING KICKING IT. That thing is going to be fucked within 5,000 miles with him driving like that
>You can powershift without dumping the clutch
No you can't.
You seriously don't know what you're talking about. That fucking tranny was garbage, but he was performing perfectly. You need to be quiet now.
Yes, you can. Slipping the clutch for a fraction of a second isn't going to suddenly put you in a class of "not powershifting" and it's going to save your transmission from grenading
Have fun when the clutch plate on your civic flies through your block because you were trying to get hektik and hit dat vtak
50-50 doesn't mean a car can't be tailhappy. I could make a limo 50-50 Ffs but that doesn't mean the ass won't slide out. A miata has a really short wheelbase that keeps it's ass in line unless you really push it or purposely kick it out
say your in 4th but you want to slow down. put it in third (rev match optional) and your car will slow down. that's engine braking. every time you let off the gas, that's engine braking too, but engine braking works better at high rpm
>It's like he's never seen Jeremy Clarkson take a corner.
>he actually thinks the scenes with clarkson driving well is actually clarksson himself driving and not actually a pro driver
>if you spun twice in the same session.....you would get pulled off the track
ok then what the fuck is the point??? i thought the track was suppsoed to be the palce to go to push your limits, possibly push past them, and have a safe place for hektik skids if you lose control. i always hear people say "Take it to the track so its safe if you lose control" but here i find they kick you off if you spin....?
>In this Video you will see what you referred to as Camel riders,,, well let me tell you something about us camel riders,,, we are the richest people on the globe,,, in the video You'll see 17-18 years old kids who drive 300000+ thousand dollars cars,, we live in the country of free gas,, free of taxes,,, insurance and education and hospitals are all free,,, so yeah we have long names and long bank account balances too lol... I feel very sorry for you that you became such a hater because in your country,, y'all do drugs and smuggle drugs and try to smuggle yourselves into the Unites states,,, Most of women in your country are hookers because of poverty and you probably are a hooker yourself hahahaha
>"All of my knowledge comes from wikipedia articles"
i dunno, dude is on track enjoying his car responsibly
i'm a fucking shit track driver but i have fun safely too. never spun tho but i'd lose my spaghetti if i did. this chill dude takes it in his stride
fuck the haters
image captcha was noodles and spaghetti wtf
If it was he wouldn't slide through every fucking corner.
If he was he wouldn't slide through every fucking corner.
He does in the first two slides.
Nah, but I do like to reference things when making an argument to make sure I'm not making an ass of myself.
He corrects barely. Which is fine, the car will pull itself out of 90% of these if he'd quit fingering his pussy and just step on the gas.
Because track days are garbage now.
Long gone are the days of open tracks with practice and testing.
Now it's all a bunch of faggots hosting "driving events" with retarded rules and low track time.
>constantly playing with the shifter.
Freud could write a book about that shit if he wasnt dead.
You're a fucking idiot. Yes you probably could slam the transmission like that if it was built that way, but don't expect it to last. He's not racing, there's no need to slam gears like that. It's okay to slip a little when pulling on the highway. It's better than blowing up your fuckin car.
I don't understand why they're not having more fun with it. If you're that shit, and you're driving a miat, your lap time will be in the toilet anyway. May as well intentionally do as many hektik skids as possible
My lug studs...I fixed them now and it was easier than I tought. Yay for no more steering death wobble over at anything over 70 km/h
Not cringeworthy at all.
The primary goal of a rollcage is to protect the occupants of the vehicle in case it rolls over.
In this design, it is pretty clear that the side impact protection on the car is weaker on one side rather than the other, and since it is probably LHD, I would have the cross member going the other way for that, though it might be RHD and I just can't see, no telling. Regardless, side impact protection of a unibody car is pretty good to start off with, so the lack of support from the one leg getting pushed in is probably irrelevant.
Anyway, Having a truss structure like this with a single diagonal member instead of two is perfectly strong. This rollcage also looks nicely built, with REALLY nice tig welds done.
