Just got myself a Mazda 6 with a V6. Sure it isn't the fastest car on the road, but it's faster than 90% of anything you encounter daily in traffic.
Having a V6 makes you feel like a step above everyone and their little 4 cylinder pieces of shit. I love it.
>not getting the Speed6 with the same engine as the Ecoboost Mustang
>my civic is faster than a V6
And? I got a park ave ultra with a 20$ 3" pully, a 100$ homemade aftercooler, a set of 30$ injectors, and i regularly beat camaros and cars that are worth more than 15x what my 2k$ pos is worth.
V6 a shit faggot.
Mazda a shit faggot
Also, a 1000$ civic with a d17, 800$ worth of turbo parts and a 200$ tune session will tear your ass open like tyrone will in prison, while being more reliable even with over 100k miles.
Protip-build a sleeper 3800
Wouldn't mind the new Skyactiv 6.
Still. Rotary gods trump all others. Instead of being a step above, trundle a few steps down another road entirely. In a haze of oilsmoke and blue flame.
Everytime I think about getting rid of my Rx, I just can't think of a car I'd be as happy with.
V6's really shine when you build them up and fi.
I.e. turbo honda j-series ive seen a few in vue sleepers regularly get over 30 mpg while having 400+hp.
Another example, the 3800 is a fucking pos stock. With literally just a 15$ 180° thermostat on the s/c ones, you can get well over 35mpg, just because they run so fucking hot.
Stock v6 a shit, best of both worlds built though.
I guess your right.. I never actually tested my Si's stock speed. I have however tested it after some tuning.
Currently my civic is making 212whp and 0-60 in 5.8 seconds...
So yes i am benchracing when i say i assume it's faster than your 7.5 sec v6 garbage.
I think mine was made on a good day in the factory. It's tolerated dogs and kept going like a champ. Battered around racetracks, driven to and from work, taken friends on long trips.
It's never failed to start. Never failed to run. Never flooded. Just kept humming on. Keep the ignition happy, keep the oil in it and premix and it'll go like fuck.
It's a car that if you grok what it offers, nothing else will ever do.
There's very little out there that goes up to 9000rpm without flinching. Early S2000's maybe and some glorified Fiats but that's about it.
Honda d/b16's with a balanced/knifed crank, valve springs, and a decent belt can get way up there, i've seen 8700 on stock internals and just what i've said
4g61's with pretty much the same rev really high as well.
Stock RX8 does it from the factory.
D585 coils, dwell remap, and either run it with premix of fit a sohn adaptor. Doesn't need much more than that and an eye on it for a good happy life and do 9000rpm all day.
Biggest weakpoint of the Renesis were shite ignition coils causing a whole load of secondary issues, some under-oiling in one ECU revision, and maybe side-seal springs being a little too light, but none of them are tricky to fix.
PRL Cold Air Intake
Full Race catless downpipe
Full Race catback exhaust
Hondata flashpro tuned by VitTune
Boomba racing motor mounts
My first mods were the boomba motor mounts. Only costs $200 and basically bolts the engine to the frame. No more wheel hop+much smoother shifts. They completely change the way the car drives i would totally recommend them as a first mod especially if you plan to increase power.
inline six is way better than a v6. prove me wrong.
Not bad. Any weight reduction?
How does it do higher up, 80+ mph?
I have a 450hp lt1 firebird w/ a 6 speed and i notice a lot of civics (the ones i race at least) launch damn good but lose out from a 40+ roll, especially in 100+ runs.
So what are you proving to OP? That because you spent a thousand or two and modified it, you can catch up? Wow, congratulations. Anyone who'd put those type of mods in their V6 car would blow you away.
My car stock
Enjoy your grocery getter top kek
>Cold air intake will most likely throw a check engine light / lose power without a tune.
A buddy of mine got a cold air in his s2k and he has had no issues, although it is a performance car. He also put a G chip in it if anyone is wondering
>everything stock from the factory
Literally the opposite of what your car is
Holy shit look how butt hurt they're getting, they must all be mazda owners kek
>gets proven wrong
>b-b-but its not that much faster civics are gay anyway
Because freedom, that's why.
Just got myself a Chevy with a V8. Sure it isn't the fastest car on the road, but it's faster than 95% of anything you encounter daily in traffic.
