"Sports" cars with FWD are always just souped up econoboxes. They aren't worth redesigning the whole car for RWD, plus they are rarely putting out the power that really neccessitates it.

Real sports cars that are designed to be sports cars from the beginning will have RWD (or 4WD) because it is better for performance in a number of ways.

The Civic SI and Speed3 are fun little cars, but they are not purpose built performance cars. They are compacts with a couple extra bits.
