Where were you when you realized GM had achieved utter perfection?
>alternatively buy one of the two slowest cars of all time
i love it
>that engine sound
>that offroad capability
>that interior space
>that commanding view of the road
>that towing capability
the best part too is no one fucks with you on the road. everyone immediately gets out of your way. makes commuting quite a bit easier tbf
>>needing an SUV to be fast
nothing needs to be fast m8
its always somethign to consider tho
on top of that, the land cruiser's problem isnt that it "isnt fast" its that its so slow that merging or doing anything that requires evasion is so unbelievably slow its legitimately dangerous. drive one youll see what i mean.
theyve made plenty of shit but so has every single automaker that has ever existed.
condemning an entire brand is absolute noob-tier.
every manufacturer has made at least a few good cars.
Fuck yeah. My dad has an 05 z71 with 315,000mi on the clock. Thing won't die.
He tows his boat with it and even does some mild offroading. It gets beat on pretty hard and is still kicking.
>Dem front hub assembly bearings
>dat intake gasket leak every winter
>dat rust under the drivers door
>dem hard as fuck leather seats in front
>dat second row leg room
Source: parents owned a 2001 Tahoe up until 1 year ago
the first two are incredibly minor and fixable problems.
the intake gasket was also addressed in the '03+ models anyway.
as for rust, that can be said about any car if its in a shitty environment or not taken care of.
and i have no idea what youre talking about with the rest of it, there is retarded amounts of leg room and the front seats are comfy as fuck
you should buy a tahoe
you still can't buy a more trustworthy vehicle
>hurr these pictures somehow prove something
im not saying the land cruiser is a bad car
it is a good car
and so is the tahoe.
they both have their faults and they both have great things about them.
the retarded fucking anons that always want to turn every thread into this car versus that car are shitting up the board.
are you even reading my posts?
i dont have anything against toyota. theyve made plenty of good cars and plenty of bad ones, just like gm. if it helps soothe your autism, i own an fr-s in addition to my tahoe. brand dickriding is chilish. you retarded faggots who claim an entire brand is shit clearly have no experience with cars.
>hurr gm was trying to kill people
>hurr toyota is the perfect brand
your newfag is showing. just like the other guy said, every brand has its faults and plenty of them.
dont make me blow ANOTHER head gasket
>replacing hub assemblies every 50k miles
The front seats in my mom's z71 were the hardest seats I've ever had the displeasure of road tripping on. I often used the phrase leather covered rocks to describe them. The only car I've sat in with worse seats is my sister's 99 monte Carlo. And of fucking course the drivers seat was worse. The second row leg room may have just been the fact that, other than my mom, everyone in my immediate family is at least 6'2.
>>replacing hub assemblies every 50k miles
that is a complete exaggeration m8 at least make your arguments logical. my fathers tahoe has north of 300k and he's never replaced a hub assembly a single time.
i admit it is a weak point of the truck but lets keep it factual here.
obviously it can do it, thats not the point. any car can eventually get to 60mph. is taking over 11 seconds to get up speed and merge while shaking violently safe? absolutely not.
>why would it violently shake?
kek thats a good question for toyota anon. clearly youve never ridden in one of them.
>as long as you can get on the freeway at speed then there is no issue
have you ever merged with a mind-blowingly slow car before? there absolutely is an issue. youre usually no where near freeway speed by the time you're forced to merge. youre left with no choice but to cut people off which is incredibly dangerous.
jesus christ you dumb nocars faggots are starting to get annoying
nigger thats my truck and it would cut off anyone i wanted to and still do 115+ on 33s
>implying u know shit about shit
They used to be Top-Tier, unfortunately they let the MBAs out of accounting and the product started to suffer by the early '70s.
GM built their last great truck in 1972, their last decent truck in 1987, and stopped building trucks altogether in 2006 RIP
do u own a car?
my FZJ was smooth as silk until i banged it up offroad
now it shimmies from 55-60 then its good :)
sure you have.
both of the land cruisers ive been in shook heavily at (or even near) freeway speeds. they arent designed for it, its not really a fault of the truck, they just arent meant to do that.
i think you might have a disability 2bh
>implying the 11.4 0-60 isnt factual
good luck not causing pile-ups you stupid faggot
your friend's landcruisers needed work?
i dont care what my truck 0-60 time is
i still beat 99% of other cars through the light without stressing the engine
>is the what trolling looks like?
it's fucking shit, even the 2016 model. i drove one at my last job as a chauffeur (2016 suburban) and i was embarrassed about how shitty the suspension absorb bumps on the road, how noisy the carbin is, how much tire noise can be heard, how crappy the transmission is at selecting the right gear. the only things i liked about it was the large size and decent mpg (averaged about 24).
please tell me anon of all the land cruisers youve ridden in then.
im sure youve ridden in dozens!
them shaking at freeway speeds is a known issue im not pulling this out of my ass.
your nocars is showing
Nigga you dumb.
If it shakes there is something wrong that needs fixed.
Simple as that. The ones you rode in were abused and needed fixed.
Same thing happens with Tahoes and suburbans and expeditions etc etc.
stfu little boy
since everyone is so upset and clearly cannot turn this into a my car is better than your car discussion for the 9001st time, here is a cammed tahoe
let it deepen your sorrow
i own this
i think these>>14259224 are neat :)
i like land cruisers too. really great offroaders.
if i was going to choose one of the two purely based on offroad capabilities id pick the lc 2bh
in my friends lc we went up what was honestly the closest to a 90 degree angle i have ever seen with ease. had rocks in the way too
It's not an exaggeration. I replaced the ones on my mom's 2 times with the 100k that she drove it from 140k to 250k. Your dad's exception doesn't mean that many of them don't have that problem. I also work at an auto parts store. Aside from pads, rotors, and calipers, guess what I sell the most of on that generation 1500s in general... That's right, hub bearing assemblies. I'm not talking out of ass here, I've had experience with these trucks for 9 years.
I'm not even that same guy but you are retarded I think you need to reread his post. No where did he say those trucks were meant to be fast. You are completely missing the point.
>2007 sequoia ground clearance 10"
>2007 tahoe ground clearance 9.1"
>sequoia approach angle 27deg
>tahoe approach angle 17deg
>at least 99% of the Tahoe is higher
>tip of rear differential might be slightly due to a larger ring gear
You can look at pictures and see the Sequoia clearly does not have 10" of ground clearance. There must be some fuckery going on with the specs, likely due to you lying or with marketing. This is further evidenced by looking at the bumpers and approach angle. The Sequoia has more overhang and a bulky bumper that slopes up and back. The Tahoe bumper slopes down towards the wheels to help the approach angle.
>inb4 muh toyota beefier than GM 1 ton rear end
The 8.25" and 10.5" were available. The 10.5" is the same size as the smaller 3/4 ton GM rears. Most GM 3/4 tons have the 11.5" Stock tire size for the Sequoia is 245/70R16, that's 29.5" diameter Divide by two and subtract .5" for deformation from the weight of the vehicle, that's 14.25" to axle centerline. Half of the 10.5" ring gear is 5.25" At .25" gear clearance and .5" for housing material, that's 6" the diff should hang below centerline. That's 8.25" ground clearance. Comes to 9.375" for the 8.25" ring gear.
just reading the specs bro
i dont own one
i could be wrong
it wasn't the coating, just the shitty metal toyota used for the frame
you can find tahoes left and right here in Texas for next to nothing, because mexicans and niggers alike recognize their 100% American value, but those toyotas are way overpriced pieces of jap shit that only stupid white people would spend money on
I don't know where you got those specs, but they are most definitely wrong unless there's a completely different non-US Sequoia and Tahoe I'm not aware of. The Tahoe approach angle MIGHT be right for the hybrid model, which has a lower hanging air damn because GM figured people buying the hybrid model weren't buying it to rock crawl with.
Because morons on /o/ one time read an article comparing Toyota's larger axle to GM 3/4 ton. They think 8 lug = 1 ton, so that changed from a comparison with 3/4 ton to a comparison with 1 ton. And exaggeration changed that comparison into "The toyota is better", which they then applied to all Toyota axles.
