Bring back Group B.

I'd have thought Audi would be more likely to run an A(RS?)1. Short wheelbase, yo.
Where did you guys find all that sweet art ?
>rally
Only a thing so fwd won't kill themselves
>>14244705
what is reverse image search
>all of these pics
Fuck yea
Make it happen
Group B was a coincidence of history, a one-time thing. Like the Concorde. Sorry bro
>>14244670
I feel like the photoshop on this one is particularly blatant and bad. Just look at that bar on the front.
>>14244789
Doesn't make either less awesome, but you are right in it being unlikely.
>>14244646
Fix the spectator/crowd issue and I don't see why they could not bring Group B back
>>14244705
They're all ripped from a Car Throttle article
>>14244835
Don't fix the spectator issue.

The fucking thrill of the possibility of people dying, people who wanted to be that close to the cars.
Close enough for contact.
Keep it. It makes it so much better to watch.
We need to be like saudi arabia and execute a few people every so often, claim that it's part of the culture.
Life is better this way. The group b that is. Not so sure about public execution.
>tfw it's never coming back
>>14245065
Based
there is no way group b could exist today in the way it did back then. its just not politically possible.
>>14246421
Lol, why would you think that?
>>14246514
Th-think of the spectators! There's children among them!
THINK OF THE CHILLUNS
>>14246514
m-muh safety
If they kill snek for not having curtain airbags, why would they let super powerful cars fly through the streets just feet away from pedestrians?
>>14246526
>THINK OF THE CHILLUNS
I think they would cause less damage than an adult, better aim for them.
>>14246544
>sarcasm
>>14246514
This will make our children want to be "rally drivers". These are people that pilot over a tonne of steel at dangerously high speeds through forests and tiny streets, never slowing down.
Don't let your child do this! Save the children!

did you say children rally drivers?
https://youtu.be/06OC5OZgkCg?t=157
If I ever have a kid, I'm going to plant him behind the wheel of a rally car at the earliest point possible, seems like a solid way to ensure he's not going to grow up as some kind of a queer
>>14246713
>>14246714
>Finland
Those people are fucking mental.
Getting your driving license takes a long time, but people start driving really fucking young anyway.
Hell, you basically have to be a rally driver with the forests and weather there. No surprise some of the best drivers come from Finland.
What kind of engines do rally cars use? 4bangers with turbo or what?
>>14246785
uuhh
not every rally car is the same anon
>>14246785
Most Group B cars used 4-bangers with massive turbos, superchargers, you name it.
Audi used their famous straight-5 turbo.

Straight 5 Ecoboost mousetang
I enjoyed this thread.
>>14244789
That's not necessarily true, every street car homologation series reached a similar end with the manufacturers making dubious, ridiculously priced, and questionably sold to the public street cars. It's definitely likely there will never be a similar series again, but it wasn't the only one.

>YWN BE ALIVE IN THE EARLY 80S TO SPECTATE GROUP B RALLIES
WHOS GOT THE TIME MACHINE
How about you dorks fix group a first?
Just watch or do non-WRC independent events. You can race a 2000hp, 1500lb car if your heart desires or a real or "resto-modded" replica Group B car.
Hillclimbing and GRC cars are close enough to Group B.
>>14246682
>group b
still based as fuck tho
>>14248902
LINKS?
>Take the rallycross cars.
>Put them in rally stages
>Call the class group X or something.
All those people who cling into the old times just want "muh hp" and crazy ideas. The second won't come, because the italian teams will whine about everything then try to use underhanded tactics themselves. And then judges will ban anyone for slight things, like how they did back in the 60s with 3 minis who finished in 1st, 2nd and 3rd for improper auxiliary headlight placement. GRC cars have more HP than anything that was on group B, and they don't tend to explode when a bird drops a turd on their engine. Plus they don't have massive turbo lag that has boost only in the top 1000 rpm.
Now take the carthrottle pics and go post them on some facebook group.
>>14244680
pretty neat

>race car technology has improved in the last twenty years, the post.
>>14244704
Audi's more likely to never run a rally car again. The factory group B program was driven into the ground decades ago and the Volkswagen group(Audi's owner) would run a Golf/Polo if anything. A return would be welcomed, but not likely.

ive been finding some great hillclimbing stuff, its awesome, this guy has balls of steel, much more exciting than other racing ive seen lately.
