I think my idea of a 4-seater mid-engined car that has a boxer engine mounted under the rear seats is a decent one but lot of engineering effort has to be made for making a smart subframe for the engine that allows an tolerable access to the engine. Also a car like this could have a decent sized trunk both in front and rear and should have a great weight distribution and handling.

Call it the Demon or the Copperhead, 32K starting up to 45K loaded. Offer a supercharged version with 500hp for 50 grand, up to 70K for a track-pack monster.

This would totally fit in with Dodge's current plans:
>V6 Demon/Copperhead roadster
>V8 Barracuda pony car
>V8 Challenger muscle car
>V10 Viper
It'd work as long as Chrysler goes to a modular architecture that easily scales between V6, V8, and V10. Preferably retaining the current V8's heads, the V10's cam-in-cam VVT, and, finally, an aluminium block.

Watson Revel 8.jpg
596KB, 800x900px
I present to you, ladies and gentlemen, the Watson Revel 8. A large touring coupe with quad doors, a Traveler style sedan hatchback truck tailgate trunklid, and an extended range electric drive. A multifuel V8 will run at the most fuel efficient speed most of the time to charge a set of supercapacitors which in turn power torque vectored electric motors in each wheel hub. There are multiple modes which dictate at what supercapacitor charge the V8 will kick in to recharge and how quickly the supercapacitors will be allowed to discharge into the motors, and additionally a freestyle mode which revs the V8 in sync with the motors and releases the V8 produced electricity directly to the motors to give the impression that you're operating a petrol engine driven vehicle while retaining the torque and vectoring abilities of quad electric motors.

If i built one myself its a 2 door coupe liftback. 4 rotor in na and turbo. Tuned suspension. Line lock and launch control included as options in the sport version. Front end styled similar to the fd or original viper in terms of looks with an ass end more square. Front aero included in sport package. 6 speed manual. Great bolstered bucket seats. Driver side has oh shit handles to help you get out since it retains the rx7 sit on the floor style seating. Somehow make a regular road condition safe 4 point harness style seatbelt. Overboost warning light that flashes danger to manifold.

connected to a manualy controllable variable transmission. The transmission would be controlled with a throttle quadrant similar to a jet engine. You push it forward and backwards go dial in your gear ratio.

So, the transmission. Would you still have a throttle pedal, or would it keep a constant rpm whilst you fuck around with the transmission ratio to set your speed. Because I can see it being really useful for long distance driving.
