THE ONLY reason people do this is because #1 they're common engines, and people think a 1000$ ls engine taken from some shitty 2000's pos camero/corvette is a good idea to stick into a performance car, and #2 they're under the impression that LS engines are easy to swap into shit, and that the gain is worth it, but the fact is that they're a shitty outdated engine, and only exists because it gets boomers panties wet. They're terribly inefficient for their size, tall as fuck gearing that is needed to put the power down fucks up the performance on the track, the added weight and size fucks the car, and most importantly, it's not as easy as slapping this pile of shit to the stock drivetrain. Custom fab + wiring is needed, and good luck maintaining driveability on the street.

The fact of the matter is that the fastest street raced time attack cars are all using small turbo engines because that's how a performance car should be built. F1 cars do not use high displacement low revving engines either for this reason.

It's not a cheap build, and you'd be far far far better off putting a built turbo 4 banger like a k20 into it with a turbo if you actually give a shit about performance instead of dick waving who can cram the shittiest engine into a small car because "hurrdurr mini corbette!" "hurrdurr muh shelbu!"

That's the weight penalty of a turbo kit but reliable and torque everywhere.
