I used to be (not to the videos degree) when I was younger, and had plenty of time to waste and principles. I sat handcuffed in the back of a car for an hour once because I wouldn't show my ID or give my name and they let me go. These days it's definitely not financially viable for me to get hauled into the station just in case they call the bluff, I still fight tickets though even if it's a losing proposition monetarily to miss a day of work to do so. You don't have to be like the people in the video, but the truth is most cops are incompetent and can't do their job correctly, you shouldn't be bending over letting them do whatever they want because you don't want to be "autistic".

Here in Canada our cops are, by and large, great. They are very professional and constantly being trained/re-trained. People here try to extrapolate the cherry-picked examples from the US, and import them to policing here, but it just doesn't fly.

Probably varies from state to state, too, I would imagine. I know the cops in Quebec have a reputation for being pretty crooked, but that's more indicative of the general milieu in that province (everyone there is a piece of shit).

Also, if you're getting tickets you probably did something illegal. Fighting it is fine, it's your right to do so. But breaking the law, knowing you broke the law, and then refusing to accept the consequences, is the hallmark of a true cunt. Take responsibility for your actions.

Which the people in Oregon, don't believe the state has in this case because they are trying to arrest a man under charges that he already served a sentence for.

See he was sent to jail for 1 year for Arson. Even though the burning of his land was given the go ahead by the Bureau of Land Management. This fire spread to neighboring areas accidentally, this land was owned by the Bureau of Land management, and they tried to have him arrested. Similar incident involving lightning fires happened a few years later, and he was this time sentenced to 1 year on 2 counts of arson i believe.

THEN after he got out, they tried to say he needed to go BACK to jail for 5 years because someone his "Arson" was considered "terrorism" and even tho he wasn't tried as a terrorist when he was arrested; they're basically saying "oops we meant to call you a terrorist back then" which comes with 5 year minimum sentence. Its all very semantical, and people in the local community think its unLAWFUL and should leave him alone.

Saying "if you fire apon us we will fire back" is VERY different from saying "WE WILL FIRE APON YOU" They are prepared to defend themselves, not to commit murder.

Police officers know a tiny fraction of the law, it's impossible for them to know of every precedent setting case relating to arrests/citations they are performing, or even every law at the local/state/federal level that concerns them. They aren't educated much to begin with and even people with actual legal knowledge have to research each case to know it up and down. You can go on with "well they mean well and I'm a good law abiding citizen so all cops are great," but I'm a pragmatist and look out for myself when it comes to legal issues. You are projecting your own emotional issues on to me, I have no feeling about police on an emotional level, I just realize they are typically not able to perform their job properly (no fault of their own, the standards are very low) so it would be foolish of me to go along with their wishes and whims rather than look out for myself.

My BA in Criminology, the countless professors who have told us this, the countless police officers and recruiters who have told us this, internal census information, etc.

StatsCan doesn't track such things, it's not nationally relevant. But it is a requirement for getting hired these days, unless you've served in the military or have a ton of additional skills (i.e. speak 2-3 languages, years and years of in-depth volunteer experience).

And those who are/were hired without a degree, have since gone on to complete theirs. Half of the professors I had (who were older, and since retired from policing), completed their BA/MA while working as an officer.

Not sure why you find that so hard to believe, uni degrees are becoming the norm these days. It would seem strange if cops didn't have a degree, considering their level of responsibility and how much they get paid.

Over in Australia you're playing Russian roulette when you get pulled over. Some of our cops are alright and might just be telling you that you've got a brake light out. Others are outright cunts looking to fill their pockets with an "on the spot fine" for something or looking for an excuse to defect your vehicle.
