Basically don't go buying an old 944 or something because your wallet will hate you. Research it heavily and it can be an amazing experience for cheap, certainly better than driving some jap shitbox. Don't buy into the Acura or Lexus meme unless you want to drive a Toyota/Honda with a fancy badge on it, the older ones (which I'm assuming you're looking at since you're asking about costs) were a lot less differentiated from the standard econoboxes than they are now.
An E39 is a good example of luxury that can be had for cheap without having to pay shit tons of money for maintenance.

I bought a hard drive from china with a chinese clone of the Mercedes STAR dealership software on it, through it in an old Lenovo laptop I got off craigslist, and it worked well enough, but since it was a shitty chinese clone, half the shit was IN chinese, and it could be hit or miss about linking up to shit through the ebay serial adapter

Whats amazing about the MaxiDas system is it fuckign does EVERYTHING. Already bailed 2 friends out of thousand dollar repair bills with this thing

Most of them aren't bad. The higher end japanese ones like Z's are nice. It's just the econoboxes that suck balls. And the higher end japanese cars are just as temperamental as german cars, if not more so.
Basically your options when it comes to cars are slow POS that you can be a total nigger to and never change the oil or fast car that you need to take an hour or two out of every month and make sure everything's in proper condition.

I owned a detail shop. Eventually stopped cleaning them because they would fall apart or split seams on the leather or paint (cheap ass mother fuckers) would fall off the center console.
Corolla interior is objectively better.

Whenever i see a luxury car i just cant help but thinking of all the useless shit in that car that will eventually stop working and cost a small fortune to fix. In essence, you really only need a handful of amenities to make for a comfortable ride. Hell, I drove a kia forte last week that had enough amenenities to keep myself pleased on the ride home. not sure what good a 6.3 biturbo engine would help me with when im going to the countryside for my wine and crackers.
