>people who sell cars that are more than 15 years old and 200k or more miles for 10k or more
>"The tranny is busted... BUT THIS CAR RUNS LIKE A CHAMP"
>calls car owner me "hi im interested in your car on craigslist" them "which one?"
Having four cars, needing to sell two of them at the same time, and needing to sell both of them on craigslist thus making yourself apparently the ONE retard who actually does this, is indeed unrealistic. You should probably just go breath some exhaust now.
Currently trying to sell it
I don't get how that isn't realistic... But ok
whats wrong with a Miata bitch?
>ran when parked
or even worse
>ran when parked over 10 yrs ago
>salvage title but cosmetic damage only
>DCTs and SMGs listed as manual because those retards don't know how to drive and are insecure about it
>modified lease vehicles
>stanced and catless
I was gonna post about this too.
I usually have my daily diver up on the barter section cuz why not.
And I'm selling my old shitbox.
Not to mention all the scams that start out with some texts and the title of the ad.
As hard as it is to sell shit on craigslist, its a pretty decent way to start out a convo.
Also, it can tell you how they feel/guage interest
>the sweet dirt bike
>the shitty volvo
Things that piss me of-ignored questions.
You send message asking 3 questions, you get a
"was good for autox yea drives strait."
Yea, i asked if it had been aligned since the damage dingleberry.
This times a million. The odds of you getting lucky and the thing actually working are staggering. And if the stars align just right and the thing fires up you pretty much need a new fuel system anyway.
My favorite though is people asking over 10k for a car that is basically a twisted pile of scrap metal. Nobody cares if it WAS a 69 judge. What it is right now is garbage.
That and the whole, well it had a 440 engine in it, but now it's a roller. As if the fact that the engine bay used to have that engine in it actually matters and you can charge more because of the. And yes I know the suspension and transmission set up can be different between a straight six and a big block V8 but whatever it's still really annoying.
Sorry I just have a lot of rage built up after looking for a fairly priced muscle car.
>Nobody cares if it WAS a 69 judge.
Sure they do. Barret-jackson auctions are full of oldfags with money who want a 69 Judge. As long as documentation is right, then they are willing to pay for it.
> As if the fact that the engine bay used to have that engine in it actually matters and you can
Wrong again, it does matter. If you can provide another engine same year, same cid, it will effect the value of that car. It won't get the price of a numbers matching example, but a correct representation of the car still holds good value.
> Sorry I just have a lot of rage built up after looking for a fairly priced muscle car.
I believe I've found the problem. Just because you don't like the fact that these cars are out of your price range, doesn't mean that they are not worth what someone else is willing to pay.
>inb4 hurrr durrr boomer
I'm not a boomer, I'm just looking at it logically instead of emotionally.
>Sure they do. Barret-jackson auctions are full of oldfags with money who want a 69 Judge. As long as documentation is right, then they are willing to pay for it.
Who cares, take it there then, keep it off Craigslist. Nobody wants to pay 30k for that shit, and then tear apart countless other cars, to build a car that is ultimately less then the sum of its parts.
>Wrong again, it does matter. If you can provide another engine same year, same cid, it will effect the value of that car. It won't get the price of a numbers matching example, but a correct representation of the car still holds good value.
That's an entirely different case, if you've got the same engine lying around then that's one thing.
What I described is when someone tries to capitalize on an engine that the car, and they, don't have. You're paying for nothing.
>I believe I've found the problem. Just because you don't like the fact that these cars are out of your price range, doesn't mean that they are not worth what someone else is willing to pay.
Wrong, I'm not even buying these cars, I like looking around through to get a feel for what they go for.
You have a point though, SOMEONE might be willing to pay that kind of money for what boils down to a few scraps of metal and a name plate.
>I'm not a boomer, I'm just looking at it logically instead of emotionally.
Logically, in the single most autistic way to make an argument, by green texting someone's post and responding to each portion of it.
And yes. I know what I did.
By the way this is a Craigslist hate thread. Not a logically think about this thread.
Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay. Don't like the price? Fine, don't buy it.
Bitching about the process or market value however is just a waste of time. Just like this thread, and just like this argument if you are not able to admit these are your personal opinions, and not a fair assessment of current pricing.
No, the ignorant ruin cars. There's a thread on drifting that goes into how the 240sx is junk that idiots are paying Bronco money for.
FYI: Any full-sized Bronco is worth a few bucks. They're hard to kill and they do everything well.
Different person but the rage comes in when they keep reposting the car every day for a year so you have to see it all the time....ask all you want but if your desperate enough to repost it everyday maybe you should drop the price a little at some point so it might actually see
Can you not understand supply and demand?
Can you not understand that just because YOU don't think it's worth the money, doesn't mean someone else would pay it?
Read my post again, except this time not from the point of a pissed off child who is mad because he can't have something. It is simple economics that I am not going to waste my time explaining anymore. I've made my posts, they speak for themselves, it's not my fault you faggots are too dense or butthurt to even want or try to understand.
>ITT fox + grapes + ignorance = fags that honestly believe they control market value of something
Hey don't let me stop you from whining about things you can't have. That's all this thread is, a hug box for fags like you to cry like a little bitch.
>ebil boomerz ruin everything, it's just not fair.
Do you go around arguing with people about the value of the dog turds they throw away?
> B-but anon, you don't determine the value of that dog turd, the market does.
> T-there are people out there that would gladly pay asking price for that dog turd.
> you're just buttmad you can't afford that dog turd anon.
Because that's what 90% of rollers are. Worthless shit that isn't worth the time and effort they require.
And yet you keep coming back? Why is that? Could it be that your the one who's bootyblasted?
Also, not once have I mentioned boomers, strange that you keep coming back to that.
It's Mazda's logo before they switched to the flying bird. It sure is underaged in here. I remember when they used this logo on some RX-7s along with the efini badge in some regions. The MX-6 and MX-3, the 323 and 626 had it too.
>do you go around arguing with people
Only when I'm on /o/. Thankfully most people I associate don't have the mental capacity of a spoiled child who is angry they've been told no.
By all means, if it makes you feel better, go back to your safe space where you can whine and cry. I promise I'll stop bringing reality to the discussion if you aren't grown up enough to deal with it.
>the mental capacity of a spoiled child
Glass houses anon.
The salvage title thing really gets me, or better yet no title at all. What are you supposed to do with it? Only use the car at a track?
Interestingly Montana has this law where if it hasn't been stolen they can reissue a title, but in WI your basically fucked.
>fucking idiot doesn't say how many miles it has
>"YOU HAVE TO COME SEE IT TO READ IT IM WASTING MY TIME"
what in the fuck? how FUCKING STUPID are you? i don't FUCKING understand these people. it hurts me physically. how do you expect your car to sell, then?
>The Fox and the Grapesis one of theAesop's fables, numbered 15 in thePerry Index. The narration is concise and subsequent retellings have often been equally succinct. The story concerns ananthropomorphizedfoxthat tries to eatgrapesfrom a vine but cannot reach them. Rather than admit defeat, it denies they are desirable in a rationalisation that has been identified withcognitive dissonance. The expression "sour grapes" originated from this fable.
I had a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport wagon 5speed I sold on CL, got 4k for it with 160k on the odo. Had alot of rare factory options and was in nice condition.
4k was a fair price, all cars i sold on CL were 100% turn key cars that had tons of maintenance and care put into them.
I regret selling it but I do dislike 90% of the retards selling on CL.
>Using a mathematical symbol to denote a qualitative difference of degree
Around where I live that's actually a very fair price, I once went to a dealer that had a outback sport with that kind of milage and the tranny was about to go out on it to boot.
They wanted 7k for it, and it was a 2002
Funny, that literally the exact description of the ad where I found and bought this lil gem.
Drove 100 miles away and $2000 later had this with a spare engine, trans, and crates of rare parts.
The owner thought Subaru was an Australian car maker.
Drove the car back as well.
Yeah worse regret I ever had selling a car.
It wasn't great on gas, but it "Fuck it drive anywhere" appeal is what I miss.
The guy buying it saw all my maintenance records, smog Cert, alignment print out, and took a small test drive and didnt bullshit me.
Just handed me money.
I assume they mean they'll help you put it on stands and take the wheels home with them.
In any case, never buy from these kinds of people. They are obviously keeping the wheels and selling you a lemon.
It makes sense for some cars if you seek a rebuilt title so that you can legally drive it.
What I hate is when the owner claims a side swipe was the cause of getting a salvage title.
Either they were trying to commit insurance fraud by exaggerating damages or the car was seriously wrecked. Either way the seller is not trustworthy.
I actually don't want a piece of scrap metal. I'm sure some people do though, but it's ridiculous and pretty much maximum Jew to try charging the price some of these people charge for based on a name or what it was. It's worse than ricer tax that you see.
If the thing actually does have an engine, and doesn't have dents bigger than a whore's vagina, then by all means you can ask for a higher price.
The price is set because it's the people who are selling them set it that way based on something it is. And unfortunately they have idiots buying them at those prices because either they have to, or are actually willing to buy them at that price.
