nth for IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES
Play with us on GT6 or find a clean racing community if you don't want shitters ramming you online otherwise shit's good. Lacking cars in a few areas unfortunately and half of them don't have cockpits but best racing game for last gen.
Oh also, I'll extend qualifying to 20 minutes so you've got time for two laps, and timescale will be 10%
Well in that case you're not going to be able to sit back and watch a tv-style stream of the race, it'd just be the front cam of a single car + voice chat over the top
rallycross is as much rally as a guinea pig is a pig
>bunch of tarmac stages by the SimTraxx team
let me guess, 3-5km each and going both ways counted as separate stages
Oh ok, I was hoping that someone would just be a spectator and streaming the race for everyone else.
Anyway, even on-board cams are good I guess, go any link for those usual streamers?
this is one of the regulars, he has VODs of almost all the "official" races we've done in the past year.
He also has a playlist for when tried to cast F1:
I’m contemplating whether to race or not, since it's my birthday, and I don't want to race while being drunk.
That said, I was planning to start from the back and just chill for the most of the race anyway.
Standard, crummy cockpit, racing endurance or online: Bonnet/roof, with HUD
Otherwise: cockpit, no HUD
GT5 let you disable everything but the timing on the HUD from the pause menu. I was disappointed that they didn't bring that back
The career mode in 6 is much smaller than 4, but other than that it's all good. You can find good online lobbies if you know what to look for, but your best bet would be to join our club and add the members as friends. If you're going to get a wheel, get one that's PS4-compatible, i.e.: Thrustmaster T150, Thrustmater T300 or Logitech G29. Good luck with your cockpit build.
Are you a Shinkansen?
>Playing with the aids on
Reminder stay well away from these cones.
i would except my rig's in oodnoo and i'm in magnificent park. enjoy the race guys
I didn't have another fitting image so have this cute picture instead.
>let me guess, 3-5km each and going both ways counted as separate stages
Nah, I spent a few neetbux to get into their beta testing and they are RBR conversions. Really good shit. y u so jaded?
SimTraxx tracks are free, if you donate you just have access to the beta versions. So just wait and you won't have to pay
Here's a list with most of the rally tracks currently WIP for AC. Most of them aren't available yet though.
>He thinks Semetin is bad
>He thinks Sorica is bad
Are you being serious, or is there going to be:
>4 cars sitting on the track waiting to take me out
>kicked every 9 minutes by server script
If you can't afford ~10 bucks to beta simtraxx stuff, wait patiently and get hyped for the imminent surge of hillclimbs on their way.
There is also amorebieta, zelezniki, eradelcardon etc.
Touge is still happening on Irohazaka this week as there was no clear consensus
If no one shows up though I doubt I'll cancel the series considering the concerns expressed over the track
Forgot muh pic
Have a spoonful while I wait for the post counter.
There is a buyer's guide that will go live later tonight on the main page, but it already has its own section on the site.
>6 people want it cancelled
>2 people still want to race but change track
>5 people want to race irohazaka
Would rather actually run a race than not do one considering some people still want to race
Just throwing an idea.
How about we do a drift muscle style event for this week?
Pick a part of a track(like tsukuba) and use it to do sick tandems, and have others judge the battles. Shit could be fun as fuck, and it will be the only time the tires before the direzzas would be relevant.
Nigga I will start the race with a burnout. Mark my words.
If you were one of the people who got dropped the first time we ran the nurburgring because of how rfactor handles packages, make sure you bind a button you use frequently like maybe your clutch or shifter to ping the server, otherwise you risk getting disconnected
Sorry aspi I really fucked that up, I broke a bit too late and just couldn't stop the car in time.
Netcode has always been a problem in Assetto Corsa but that last patch seems to have really fixed it this time. Nobody teleported into anybody and I was racing side by side with a guy with 250 ping and we tapped each other a couple times without it suddenly sending us flying into the wall at 300mph.
Spork Juct PC Repair is ready for Bathurst
maybe I just wasnt paying attention, but the start? were we on formation or rolling? I was following the car in front of me in formation but someone went by me in a GTR. also kita qualified not last but close to it and somehow he started the race in second? and kraid didnt make a qualifying lap but he was started first?
>kraid didnt make a qualifying lap but he was started first?
He was meant to wait for the cars to pass before he started but instead just went for it as soon as the pack turned up
not kraid's fault in the slightest. It's the fault of two people. Scottie should have fixed the track properly and tested he fixed it and Valrys should have also tested the track to see if Scottie fixed it. Simple as desu
Sorry Lancer for the bully in practice
Sorry Panselmo for the bump in the race
If Kraid wasn't blasting at racing speed, other people could have gone by him - him sitting stone still in the middle of the track would have been just as bad. But considering that all but 2 drivers were on mumble, and yet they still couldn't follow simple instructions pretty much means everyone is as bad as each other desu senpai.
Also next time I see scottie I'm wringing his neck - I accidentally put an unfixed version of the track on the server and him and Mayor whined and whined until I changed it over to scottie's 'fixed' version.
Anyway that was fun while it lasted, but due to it being a mess I'm going to try and organise another 2.4hr fun race in something that isn't GSC in something that isn't our meme gt3 cars.
>BUT ITS A 2.4 HOUR RACE GUYZZZZ SO MUCH TIME TO CATCH UP GUYS XDDD
nah quli positions still matter in longer races. It is dumb to be forced to start behind people who cant even hold themselves togther on track.
>>Also next time I see scottie I'm wringing his neck - I accidentally put an unfixed version of the track on the server and him and Mayor whined and whined until I changed it over to scottie's 'fixed' version.
(Missed a sentence there) and yet neither of them had bothered to actually check if it was working. Yeah sure neither did I but jesus. Damnit scottie.
Blame the broken track and people being unable to follow simple instructions
Yes, I could have checked it but
>conversion of a track that was fixed and successfully ran last season
>brought to me by the guy who converted it and begged to run it
>after I accidentally put the non-fixed layout on the server, him and someone else beg me to change it over to the fixed layout for this precise reason
>It was broken all along
Just one more item for the list of "don't trust anything ovg says"
So I saw you guys organised a race school series of rf2, which is very cool.
But say I don't play on PC and I only have pcars to use, what similar track progression could I use to learn?
Sadly, the only tracks in common between the series calendar and pcars are Silverstone and Cadwell park, so I need alternatives.
Here's the list of tracks available:
Yeah I used to use a tunneling service to play GT4 online all the time, would run the 276 horsepower cars on road tires with a group of friends.
I had the DFP steering wheel, which was epic. I miss it dearly.
Driving the road cars is great because you have enough time to do finite inputs that really influence the handling. It's not the same with the LMP's or F1 car. I could put up some hardcore laptimes.
The tracks picked in the rf2 driving school have nothing to do with the difficulty driving on them. You can learn driving anything on pretty much every track. Shorter tracks probably help doing so.
FINALLY MINIONS ARE RELEASED
i5-3210M, 2.5 GHz
8 GiB memory
Intel HD Graphics 4000
It's a baby potato
i have the exact same specs as you, i can run rf2 on the absolute minimum and with the "Sim Processor Thresh=255" thing i can get about 30fps playing online with a full field, also make sure you have the latest drivers senpai
Given the description in the wiki, I was assuming there was some sort of progression in the way the calendar was organised.
So what other tracks have the best assortment of corners/bends/inclination changes from the pcars list?
I was planning on using similar low power cars like the Clio cup or the Formula Rookie.
>>Given the description in the wiki, I was assuming there was some sort of progression in the way the calendar was organised.
No, they're not thrown together in any particular progression - they're just short tracks that are (mostly) fun to drive while allowing competitors to tackle all sorts of corners, elevations, overtaking opportunities etc
vod of that funny race we did
actual start is at 1:08:00
I noticed now that the resolution is still at 1080p because I'm an idiot who didn't downscale.
Too lazy to do it again so lol enjoy these big ass webms
no my friend this is me destroying my laptop gpu by forcing it to run games in 1080p even though it barely managed 720p to begin with.
I tried running GSCE at full settings with the AI at Interlagos, and it was fine. Then I raced Okayama in /ovgt3/ and even at the low settings I currently run, at T1 the frame rate dropped to mid-twenties.
>The drunk me thinks it's a good idea to run nordschleife with a 24 hour cycle.
>DQ myself so I wont crash anybody in the start
>Manage the fuel and pit one lap later than everyone.
>Gain some spots and hustle myself to 6th with a broken front at the end of the race.
I think I did well if I say so myself.
1 sporky 2 sporky 3 sporky 4, I wish kevin would stay with us a little more
>the version of the track we used wasn't even the one I uploaded anyway
yeah but keep blaming me you mentally ill cunthole. This series has been fuckup after fuckup with only one common link - you. NOBODY has any trust in you as an organiser any more and you still think people are just fucking around when they say you're a shit organiser. You said that being a series organiser is more than just picking tracks, cars and a race format, so why the fuck is that all you did except for producing drama?
With that aside, the aiws look the same, so I don't even know what the problem was because I didn't race. But trying to put the blame on me for converting a track everyone wanted to run that we had previous experience with is a load of fucking bullshit, I literally dont do anything other than click a button, rar it up and upload it. In the end it's YOUR role as the series organiser to doublecheck that shit still works like it did in rF1, and if it doesn't, actually ORGANISE a workaround so that it's close enough - whether that's reorganising grid positions or whatever, or whatever the fuck was needed to fix what the issue was today.
thats what happens when you try to cheat
because this thread is full of attention whore tripfag retards
if everyone was anonymous no one would give two fucks and just tell the faggot to go away
High Line = Divine Line
I think what we might have to do is use Race2Play for our next series and just use funny names. Our series organizers have been so bad, easier to just pay a website to do it and race under fake names.
>tfw spend 90% of the race hotlapping
can we do this again pls
burgerking at night is so much fun
Might move to a sneaky St Bernardus Abt 12 a little later
I'm using controller

I think my problem is that I'm using L1 and L2 to shift, while it's cool as fuck it just plain ends up not being as comfortable as face button shifting.
Friendly reminder controller is master race
I should really know better, I also use /ck/ a ton I'm just tired as fuck.
Maybe someday I will upgrade to being a patrician, but not today. Today I have to learn how the fuck to drive a Miata and not crash horribly.
>You post track link to mumble and say that it's the fixed version from last year
>I take this link, download it, put it on the doc
>download it to server
>put track on server
>no you moron that's the wrong, non-fixed layout, please use the fixed layout
>worked fine on server
>drove fine (yeah yeah sev I know)
>nothing seemed broken on my end
>I wasn't around for it last year so I had no idea what the fix was for and figured you and Mayor must have known it was working if you were complaining about it so hard
And i DID do a workaround, we placed the grid manually by hand, and after that still didn't work we organised a manual formation lap. All relatively calmly without throwing a fit, except ovg didn't seem capable of listening to simple instructions. Should I have checked it? Yeah. Can you blame me for not checking it? Hell yeah. But this is one situation where you, mayor et al. were much more qualified to tell me whether it was working or not than I was, because until a couple of weeks ago I'd never turned a lap of the nurburging in rf1 or gsc. So go fuck yourself, because frankly every track or thing you've attempted to 'fix' for us this season has been broken in one way or another.
And the plot twist here: I've just loaded up an AI race with 25 cars on the track we used last night......it worked perfectly. All cars spawned on the dottinger hohe. Fuck knows why it didn't work with real human beans.
Which also means of course, if I had tested it, I would have simply gone "yup it's fine, roll on Jan 9th" and then still been fucked anyway. Literally cannot win.
So what you're saying then is that I could've literally edited it so the entire grid was facing backwards and it still would've had the same problems.
Remind me again how this is all my fault when I did NOTHING except upload the exact same version that we have experience with working perfectly? Besides, the original layout that was on the server WAS broken, because blood-1 only fixed the 24hr layout. The vln or whatever the fuck it was called layout still had every car after x position spawn a minute behind the dottinghole, so in addition to whatever issues there were today there would've been that to deal with.
After hearing what actually happened on the race start, I don't think there's anything you could've done differently except tell people who drove off early that they're getting DQ'd or something. But the point is that none of it was my fault, so calling me out in the thread trying to divert blame from yourself or GSC is bullshit. Converting from rF1 to GSC is something literally anyone could've done and you wouldn't find a single difference in the output, I just did it because I was one of the people with the track and already had the converter.
>only 2 stages
>with 2002-tier graphics and detail
>but only when viewed directly from the road
>otherwise 1998-tier detail if 2 meters away from where the driver is supposed to look at
why can't we all just get along and play video games
clutching at straws there desu senpai
Guys I have a really dumb idea for next weeks touge event
We should do a survival race on Transfăgărășan
Just keep racing up and down the mountain until only 1 car remains working. Would get funny when people fall behind and are coming down the mountain as people go up
What would you call a good stage then senpai? Cause I'd say Semetin is good quality. It can't help that it's got shit graphics cause of the game its in. I think the detail is quite good too. The stage is really nice to drive so to say it's a bad stage simply cause you can't drive down exit roads which you aren't really meant to drive down anyway is a bit odd imo. That's why I say you're clutching at straws bud.
I don't know what you're talking about, James: the Hommell Berlinette looks great in GT6!
Take note of the advice here. On the off-chance it installs before the final race of Spec Miata tonight, do a Quick Match event and you'll be able to afford the Mazda Roadster Touring Car easily.
rally has as much to do with navigation as it does driver skill
imo, until a rally game simulates the transport stages and allows the driver to go off-stage, it won't be a complete rally simulation.I want a game with the same size map as Just Cause 3, that you are able to freely roam and enter rallies as you like.
one of my major gripes about almost all rally games is how strict they tend to be about staying on the stage, while you can watch real life rally footage and find drivers making huge cuts through fields and driving well off-stage. These reset zones tend to make crashing less fun and realistic as well, as you're placed back on the track in the middle of a barrel roll having taken almost no damage.
also spectator contact should be fully simulated with ragdolls, none of this black-screen OMG YOU HIT A SPECTATOR RACE OVER bullshit. While yes, a real rally would be stopped in the event of spectator injury, the way the games tend to handle this is way too politically-correct and dampens the simulation value.
t. literally the only person in the world who doesn't love RBR
it can and will happen, it's just a matter of a developer having that same brainwave. Clearly someone considered it in the making of RC2K since you can take real shortcuts and launching your car into a ravine won't immediately reset it or give you a cop-out message before your car even touches the ground again.
I don't like it either. It feels like an old version of Dirt Rally. The physics are passable for the era it came out in, but they don't feel complete, as if the game was never intended to be used for anything other than smooth gravel and tarmac stages.
Right now BeamNG is the top of rally simulation simply because its damage modelling is god-tier. If your rally game doesn't appropriately simulate what happens when you treequinox a Ford Sierra, you don't have a rally game at all.
>drowning in a car
This is my greatest fear.
Tanak's radio cord almost got snagged and pulled him under.
I have no idea how to do rally setups. I guess it's better to soften the suspension and raise the ride height then on tarmac it's the opposite stiffen the suspension and lower the ride height.
My goal over the offseason is to get into Dirt Rally, both rFactors, and I guess Game Stock Car Extreme before the Rolex 24H at Daytona. I want to try GSCE for the F1 V6 turbo-hybrids and the Brasil Stock Cars. I didn't like any of the new F1 mods on AC. and when pCARS first came out I thought they would add the V6 turbo-hybrids for Formula A, but I'm glad they went with the Vettel-era screamer V8s instead.
I think there were a couple of PSX and PS2 games that had the South American touring cars but I never tried them.
I just installed Dirt Rally today and I'm excited but I didn't get a chance to really sit down and play it yet. I played some WRC 4 as a warm up to get used to rallying but it was shit. I thought about trying WRC 5 thinking it might be better but I haven't bothered. Having all of the accurate stages from the WRC calendar is the only good thing about those 'official' WRC games.
It's too narrow to kick the arse out without hitting anything.Even a DS3 feels too big. The original mini-cooper would be better.
>Trento Bondone takes over 11 mins to finish
This is why you'll never be a works driver.
This hillclimb is fucking difficult. I suck at hillclimbing except for Goodwood. You need something small to stay flat out through the narrow parts. I don't know how on youtube people do Trento with all these normal sized cars. Isn't there a co-driver/navigator app for AC?
>wanting to play GeneRally again because of Nostalgia
>going to the game's website
>big Generally 2 banner on the site
>dreams finally fulfilled
>look up the development roadmap
>early development phase: planned end Q1 2015
>crying because it seems like game is dead
trento isn't bad in any roadcar I've driven, if you're not using a track map just look for the obvious slopes you will be climbing and estimate your braking/throttle off those as you can't always see the hairpin turn coming up
can't wait to try it when the C7 and official Mustang come around
You should try out the Abarth 1000tc. It would be perfect for Trento
Uh you aren't signed up for RD?
well try the direct DL link
The latest AC updates have been cool but I think I was content with staying on version 1.2.
Kunos keep trying to improve the AI but you still end up having to edit the AI yourself and extracting data.acd files and shit to customize it. Sometimes they are too dumb and easy and other times they are over aggressive and kamikaze each other on the second lap.
The whole pit stop system still needs an overhaul in both single and multiplayer. Ditch the pit stop animations, it's more work to make different animations for each different type of car and different type of pit stop. You don't need that. Just keep the pit stop accurate to the rules. Like in sportscar racing fuel first then tires, in single seaters no refueling and only tires etc. Then you can have actual pit strategy be a part of the race instead of being restricted to 10 laps with fuel consumption on.
But the actual driving feels fantastic. I like the physics the way they are now; so I don't want Kunos to screw around with it too much. Compared to early access/ver 0.7 it does feel like a completely different game. No weather and pit stops doesn't bother me that much anymore. But the more I read the changelog the less I think Kunos are going to add rain and redo the pit stop system. It's a good game but Kunos just need to focus on the right things to make it even better. I don't know how Kunos expect to release AC on consoles and have people try to install mods, enable dev apps and extract data.acd files without the NTFS file system. like pCARS had no mods from the beginning so it was a different situation and they had mad bugs glitches and all kinds of teething problems early on in the console release that they had to keep patching.
Normal Version > Stage 3
The stage 3 has too much torque. Makes it harder to drive. I can't be the only one that doesn't like the stage 3 that much.
yeah it was kinda dumb in WRC 4 the full rally weekend was 6 stages long. 2 different stages each day. That was the longest you could set it. You didn't do the full 3 days with reverse stages and 100+km long like in the real WRC.
