Why can't we have nice things?
>>14197655
because you post blurry pics.
>>14197661
It's a leaked pic.
But you can see they went for cheap shitty projector headlights which really ruins the look of the car.
Why can't we have real nice things?
>>14197655
Americans can never compete with the Luxury cars of Japan and Europe. Can't these murican manufactures just stop making cars and flooding the market and roads with their shitty, un-economical and un-reliable cars?
>>14197671
Are LED headlights even legal in the US or is it gonna be the same thing as back when they mandated outdated sealed beams for another few decades?
>>14197655
base trim anon. i guarantee there will be a nigged-out version
>>14197672
That picture reminds me of the time I stole a Rolls and quickly glued Ford badges to it.

What, the Lincoln Continental?
I wish Ford would make Lincoln a high-end luxury brand that makes cheaper hyper luxury alternatives to Mercedes. Can you imagine a Lincoln competitor to Maybach?
Just like Caddy makes faster BMW-like luxury cars than BMW.
Unfortunately Lincoln mostly competes with acura and buick instead of going for one of the german big 3..
At least Caddy is trying real hard even if people ignore them. (yea i know caddy has faults that need to be ironed out)
They are going in the right direction with that interior though, i like it.
>>14197688
they are, the escalade was one of the first cars with full LED headlights
euro spec LEDs generally aren't because of the turn signals and high/low beam
>>14197690
Looks like the new MKZ.
>>14197704
>hyper luxury
>cheaper
I don't think you know how hyper luxury cars work. No one will ever consider a Corvette a super car either regardless of how fast it goes because it's a cheap, widely available fucking everyman bucket.
>>14197704
There better be an all-blue interior option on the new Continental. That concept was fucking lickable inside.
>>14197719
>No one will ever consider a Corvette a super car because it's a cheap
No, no one will consider a Corvette a super car because its not... the Corvette is a cheaper alternative to the also-not super car 911.
The stingray competes with the base carrera and the Z06 competes with GT3's/GT2's and they get compared in test a lot.
>widely available fucking everyman bucket.
is what both the 911 and corvette are trying to be which is why they are so common (especially the 911)
>hyper luxury
>cheaper
>I don't think you know how hyper luxury cars work.
I don't know man, if such a thing exist it would be a alternative to the Bentleys and Maybachs not a replacement. Basically just offering the luxuries of those cars with a fancy interior package at a cheaper price (not because the car is cheaply made or has cheaper materials)
Those Bentleys and Maybachs may cost a lot but they are just souped up versions of cheaper cars (s class for Maybach and pheaton for bentley continental gt) Ford could probably afford to make the price cheaper and take less profit on them as they make lots of money on other cars and don't necessarily need to make a killing off Lincoln.
That's just my theory though.

>Those Bentleys and Maybachs may cost a lot but they are just souped up versions of cheaper cars
ford souped up the most luxurious car it could muster
Ford didn't want to get sued for their knockoff Continental Flying Spur.
>>14197655
Because concepts are actually sellable, unlike their nerfed counterparts
Because it's really just a long wheel base Taraus.
>>14197704
>I wish Ford would make Lincoln a high-end luxury brand that makes cheaper hyper luxury alternatives to Mercedes.
You mean like this? The original Continental Mk. II was the most expensive American production car. It rivaled Rolls Royce.
>>14198850
>With the Fiestas quad clutch AWD system and a 400hp engine
Pretty cool IMO.
>>14197672
Look at that shitty LCD screen. Fucking backlight bleed. They couldn't even use one with IPS lmao
>>14197655
0/10 would not get my head blown off from afar in.
>>14199465
kek
>>14199465
Am I crazy or are the proportions/sheetmetal exactly the same as the concept? (i.e. the concept was just a blinged-out production shell). Even the trick door handles look identical.
That means there's nothing stopping them (or anyone) from giving it the same detailing as the concept (i.e. LEDs, dat chrome).
>>14197655
>Why can't we have nice things?
Do you work in Finance? Then no, you can't.
>>14197671
The ones in the bottom look better though... what headlights would you have wanted?
>>14199453
that car was made before you were born
The leaked pic must be a stripper model (why they'd want to sell a stripper version of their range-topping luxury sedan is the real question). You can see in this shot the headlights (and everything else) look identical to the concept apart from the chrome strip along the bottom in the concept (not sure if that's better or worse).
>>14201492
It looks like any other american car.
If you wanna see broken dreams, the the '63 T-bird Italien. Finished at the end of '63, they redesigned the jet-exhaust taillights before they even had chance to fully explore its beautiful potential on European-style fastback cars...
>>14197707
at night these fucking things blind anyone that doesnt drive an suv
>>14203622
prolapsed anus
>>14197692
It looks like a Y34 Cedric/Gloria.
Like near exact
>>14203622
I don't know what you're talking about, because that greenhouse doesn't fit the car nearly as well as the one on the Starliner two years -earlier-.
>>14203916
you have shit taste
>>14203934
Maybe, but at least I know when European styling looks out of place on American cars. You have to style the whole car one way or the other, you can't put a curvy European roof on a jet age landbarge.
>>14203876
This.
Happened last night.
There is no point in having such a "cool" headlight design if you're blinding everyone in front of you before they can see it.
