i normally just power up wheelies. even third gear the front wheel comes up easy as. currently using 13/42 gearing and 4th gear comes up easy over crests without clutch.

it's good through tight twisties. anything over 60mph/100kmph and it isn't as fun. you can take corners at 120kmph but thats not where the fun is.

even in a straight line 140kmph feels sketchy. the best fun is within the torque range.

it's not a long distance bike but it can sit at 110kmph doing 3.5k rpm with 14/42 gearing.

to be honest you wont gain as much fun as just riding around local backgrounds. on my sport bike i had to ride an hour to have any fun. but on the motard i can ride out my driveway and it's instant fun.

I'm test riding the Africa Twin this afternoon. If it turns out to not suit for some random reason, should I go with the Japanese Panigale or its bastard adventure child (The VFR800X)? Handling is absurdly confidence inspiring, much better than a bike that high has any business being. Basically, everything about it is spot on.
