Can someone explain to be how the NSX is apparently a supercar? It's a great car, no doubt, but I don't see how it's a supercar.
>>
Because Honda fanboys need something that isn't a FF econobox to benchrace
>>
>>14195192
Its performance rivaled a Ferraris at the time. I'd say that qualifies.
>>
>>14195192
It handled as well or better than super cars, was as fast or faster than super cars for it's time, hand built aluminum frame, limited production, exotic looks and expensive.
>>
>>14195217
and yet it was slower than rx7s evos and stis. none of those are considered supercars.
>>
>>14195192
Because "supercar" is a set so poorly defined it barely means anything more than "fun car wot I like".

>hand built
>aluminum chassis
>exotic
>limited production
>luxury
Performance is not the only thing that makes a supercar. If it was then there would be no 90s supercars, because Rx7s and Evos still dominated them in racing

don't get caught up in meaningless terms
>>
>>14195272
>aluminum chassis
still managed to weigh 1400kg+ pigfat garbage imo

>exotic
just because no one bought them doesnt make them 'exotic'

>limited production
as above

>luxury
lol, leather interior does not equal luxury. besides honda and luxury ROFLMAO
>>
>>14195365
What makes a car luxury?
>>
>>14195192
It's not a super car (the older ones). People on/o/ like to word play and argue and shit.
>"It's super! That means it's a supercar!"
>>
>>14195192
>labels

Feeling the need to compartmentalize and pigeonhole everything is literally a sign of autism. I'm not joking.

The world isn't so black and white. Thus such labels become meaningless and totally superfluous. Whether or not a car is a "supercar" doesn't change anything about it. It doesn't make the car any faster or slower. It doesn't change how exotic and different it is. It doesn't make the body any more appealing. The word is devoid of meaning.

Moreover, the term is completely subjective to the individual and the qualifications of "What makes a supercar?" is as vague and nebulous as it is varied. The is no official agreement of what defines a supercar further debasing the use of the term.

TLDR: Don't waste your time on such ideas, OP.

Hood ornaments? That's what makes a car luxurious?
>>
>>14195488
Such luxury
>>
>>14195516
and 200 dollar oil changes.
>>
>>14195516
This is the IRL true face of autism. He sees a hood ornament. Non-linear thinkers see it as a Mercedes emblem used on a hood ornament and know that Mercedes is a luxury brand.
>>
>>14195540
Mercedes interior is just leather that falls apart along with buttons that fall off and a center console that won't open or close properly.
That's not luxury either
>>
>>14195548
>luxury cars aren't suppose to eventually deteriorate and fall apart because luxury means they don't do that.
>>
>>14195562
Not when my corolla with 323,000 miles has no rips in the seat and everything works as it should
>>
>>14195570
So now your Corolla is a luxury car?

Fucking cheap shit
>>
>>14195418
in the design far more so than the materials
>>
>>14195595
Seems to me it comes down to foam density, how easy it is to turn the steering wheel, and how much of the road you can't feel or hear.
>>
>>14195418
Using the highest quality materials and craftsmanship for every single aspect of the car. Honda has literally never done this and never will. If you've ever been in a Rolls Royce you'd feel stupid for considering any honda ever luxurious.
>>
>>14195618
I didn't say Honda was luxurious.
Just wanted to know because it seems arbitrary
>>
>>14195629
It really isnt. And Mercedes hasn't made a luxury car in decades. They just cram shit from Sharper Image into the interior, add some lights and make the car do everything for you.

it's true tbqh. they will never match the no-holds-barred luxury of the 600 any time soon. the maybach is just a done-up s-class.
>>
>>14195669
The only quality aspect of the maybach is that back seat oh my god that back seat. I reclined it fully at the dealership and almost passed out. But the only true traditional luxury car maker is Rolls Royce. Having driven most of they're current lineup. Wow. I wouldn't buy anything else. Not even to compromise on price. I would just end up being dissapointed.

It's not.

Please shut up, don't embarrass yourself.
>>
>>14195806
All those cars were basically hyper cars, the fastest of the fast
The NSX competed with e try level Ferraris and Porsche 911s

Funny thing is it could still out accelerate a Testarossa
>>
>>14195235
The Rx-7 had 200hp in 1991 and the other two examples you gave didn't exist yet.
Your point is moot anyway a 2015 Z06 is plenty quick, but no one considers that a supercar.
