>17 hour drive
>brehhh
>never again
Thats why hotels, rest stops and reclining car seats exist you double nigger
>>14194636
>hotels
Extra cost added into trip.
>rest stops
Great place to get killed.
>reclining car seats
Great way to fall asleep behind the wheel.
Seems like you're the doublenigger here.
>>14194573
>20 hours
Never again... Should have only taken 16 but there was a 4 hour dead stop at 2AM because of an overturned truck.
I drive for like 20 minutes and Im done
so boring
My wifes son is the same
He can't stand 20 minute car rides with me
>>14194573
32 hours is my record. Georgia to Arizona, straight through.
Crashed at a motel and slept from check-in to check-out.
>>14194706
>he is incapable of finding cheap hotel rooms to spend the night in
>he is incapable of stopping at a rest stop, locking the doors, reclining the car seat and sleeping for 4-6 hours
If you're honestly driving 17 hours to get anywhere, you'll have enough money for a hotel room.
I love driving long distances. Longest was 10 hours from Maryland to see my cousins in Rochester.
>>14194573
>20 hour drive
>with your family
>>14194820
I did a month long road trip with my mom two summers ago. Longest single day was like 18 hours. After we got home I decided I was never going to do something like that again.
>>14194573
Step up nigga
>left 11:30am on Saturday
>arrived 9:00pm on Sunday
Bitches all of you.
I drove 18 hours a day for 3 days in a row, during my first deployment to Iraq.
Body Armor, helmet, loud ass, rough riding, HMMWV. That was the only vehicle in the convoy with out armor. Sleeping 4 hours on the ground, next to the truck.Eating just MREs. The only thing that was ok, was that it was January. So the temperature wasn't 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
>>14194861
>I chose to be the government's bitch everyone pity me
>>14194805
>he is incapable of finding cheap hotel rooms to spend the night in
I can drive 800+ miles on $40 worth of fuel, I don't see why I should double my travel budget instead of getting a coffee.
>he is incapable of stopping at a rest stop, locking the doors, reclining the car seat and sleeping for 4-6 hours
Are you also incapable of realizing that people are killed at rest stops while sleeping in their cars? Glass isn't impenetrable.
>>14194851
>Minot
>Not even once
>>14194876
Why you think I was hauling ass outta there brah
Drove 28 hours once with an hour nap break. Hated it at the time but i'm thankful for the experience now.
>>14194874
Don't stop at a fucking empty one at night and you should be good.
>>14194874

You stupid quad nigger.
First gas stop, get gas, get a drink, take a power nap.
Just recline, and relax for 20 minutes.
Next time you have to piss, do the same.
Power naps do so much. Even if you dont fall asleep, simply resting for 20-40 minutes will prevent you from falling asleep at the wheel.
I've driven plenty of 17-19 hours at a time, specifically from Chicago to Denver, and then to Crawford without sleep. Just power naps every 4 hours with my regular rest stop.
Tell your GP you have wakefulness issues and ask about getting modafinil (or order generic modafinil from India). God drug of keeping drowsiness away. Not an upper. It just lets you decide when you want to sleep and completely bypasses drowsiness. I use it on long road trips and have gone multiple days of 12+ hours no problem. Pretty fun at first because your concentration goes way up and you notice every detail of the road. Feels like time slows down and reality is limited to you and the drive.
It does make your piss smell like sulfur though and sometimes leads to what I can only call deep anxious hunger.
>>14194706
>Great place to get killed.
How many rest stops have you been killed at?
>>14195441
>deep anxious hunger.
Lol why am i laughing?
>bring blanket
>sleep in car
>>14194798
>32 hours
>Georgia to Arizona
WTF? Is it really that long?
>>14195260
>park in a black person's driveway
You have to go to Halifax to do that. That's what wiki says anyway.
>>14194851
hmm you air force?
22 hours Calgary to Thunder Bay, but my girlfriend drove for about 4 hours in between while I slept so it wasn't that bad.

>>14195528
What kinda of car do you even trust with trips this long? Im assume cars made 2010 and newer, with low mileage?
>>14195544
I did this in 2010 with an 02 330i. ~100k miles at the time.
I still daily it.
>>14195544
I drove over 2,000 miles in a 92 isuzu trooper with 160k miles on it in one go...I also drove the same suv with a 3,000lb+ trailer 600 miles over some pretty intense mountain ranges scattered across the trip.
I still think that was the best rig I've owned.
>>14195528
And back in a 250K+ Km '06 grand caravan two years ago, with a pop up trailer behind it.

Hello newfriend.
i bought a car in northern norway this september. drove all the way back to oslo in one go, 36 hours with only stops to get coffee and food.
17 hours may seem like a lot at first, but you will adapt quickly after the first few days.
When I first started my chauffeur business, I'd only sleep for three hours from 1:30am to 4:30am.
Quick shower and change of clothes, and be back in the car by 5:00am.
Then I'd catch a half hour nap during the day. Maybe two if I could spare the time.
This went on for three months until I got another car and hired another driver.
The longest I've gone driving without real sleep is three days.
I drove 15 to pick up the nova, it's not that bad if you get a good night's sleep before and rest if you need to
>>14194874
What fucking place do you live.
I do 12 hour trips to Florida twice a month. Rest areas have 24 hour armed secruity that patrol.
>>14196885
Best I've done is averaged 100 mph for the Florida turn pike.
I was chasing the rabbit had a car up ahead of me doing 100 as well and I kept back where I can just see his tail lights.
Followed him most the turnpike till I see him slam brakes and blue lights flashed.
longest trip I did was ~800 miles in one day in this car, the last half with a transmission in the trunk
it didn't mind the weight at all
