I'm afraid hondas get stretched too, :(
I have something called metabolism
>Speed and lack of due care, road conditions (gravel)
they can never totally just blame themselves can they? gravel or not you weren't making that corner.
I cannot think of a bike with more concentrated meme content than the mt-09
>tfw I just bought a "new" used 12-year-old KTM
Mt-07 is a good contender. The memeness is so strong with it the owner of this one became a meme even though you can't see the bike at all.
Ah fuck it. All yamahas are memes
Go back to high school.
I said that all members of Yamaha are memes. That doesn't mean or even imply that yamahas and memes are equivalent. All I said is that yamahas are a subset of memes. You stupid retard
I'M SO JEALOUS REEEEE
>tfw its been 3 weeks since I've been on dbt
At least I finally conquered my fear of the freeway.
Also addicted to pinning the throttle now desu.
Dude my TW hits 75 on the highways.
I ride it at 55 MPH to work and back five days a week, and I don't even ride in the highest gear.
But I like the TW. Looks like a great shitbike to have fun on that is street legal, which is rare in america to find bikes similar.
Coming up on the first check in service on my baiku, what exactly do they do? Is it going to take a long time?
I have a general idea of how to power everything, but I'm concerned about little things like fuses and correctly doing the ignition. Would I run the wire to the ignition coil through the key?
Well on normal bikes they change the oil and filter, and then do some checks to see if it's bresking in properly, albeit since you ride a BMW you might be looking to replace the forks, swingarm, block, valves, pistons, rims, tires and some other minor things.
The rudolph nose and antlers are cute
it's not about "hating bmw" it's about not denying reality.
Because they're too short to ride them.
Why are all motorcycle riders manlets?
>guy explains to me all the bikes they have are lowered suspension
>"Haha we dont get tall guys like you too often"
>mfw barely even 6'
They will change the oil in the crank case and the gear oil if it's shaft drive. They will check brake, clutch, and coolant levels. They will scan it for error codes. Then wash it.
kek, really? Is that normal? My 700GS is my first bike ever so I have no idea what to expect.
I remember seeing that after getting my GS and feeling a bit worried.
But service is supposed to be free for 4 years, lets see if they actually honor it.
>I don't like it so it's not real
>lalalalala I can't hear you
I think you are mistaken about free maintenance on your bike. BMW Motorrad doesn't offer any. Your dealership may have a special deal with you.
Also, buy one these DVDs for your particular bike. They will tell you all service to be performed at what intervals. They are worth it. They cover literally everything.
4chanX has a filter by Image MD5 optiion, which filters the image no matter what he renames it to.
He would need to edit every single image just slightly to get around that, which would be time consuming as fuck.
I've tried 4chanx but didn't like how it changed the way the page looks and acts, so I uninstalled it.
I'm not just doing that for that one poster, or just this thread.
I'll look into it.
Are there any computer programs useful for drawing up vehicle wiring diagrams?
>tfw snow in the hills
should i stud my tires and tempt fate in the foothills Saturday?
-1 exposure and lower iso will give nicer looking shots, overcast kinda shits all over color quality.
Do you think having the camera pointed at a headlight made it bad too? I wanted to see how photos looked with my lights on.
Did you use the full BD kit when you DSed your XR, or just the headlight? Did you have to upgrade the stator or anything? I'm curious because I want to get my EXC ready for street use, so I want to see how others have gone about it. I already got the plate but currently think of it as unfit for the road.
i built it up myself, so just the headlight.
no stator changes, all LED lighting on DC power
as for taking pictures, what are you using?
you can focus on something else then pan to the headlight to get a better light balance and let the headlight bleach out.
ill see if i can find some side x side examples of just over vs under exposed shots
>tfw too short for a dirt bike
Fucking kill me.
What's a good bike for someone my size?
Was the original lighting AC powered? Did you run into any problems with not having enough DC power to run everything? Got any diagrams of how you wired it? Is the BD headlight gud?
Sorry I realized I'm bombarding you with questions.
You'll have to lean over when you stop but you will get used to it. The only problem comes when you have to put a foot down unexpectedly, especially if it's downhill.
Also I think the CRF230 is slightly lower.
Try it. good luck.
The perfect height for a motorcycle rider is about 5'10.
I know I'm too tall for sportsbikes...
originally it was AC, no diagrams yet.
for wiring i cut the regulator out and put a generic 12v rectifier on it, my wiring uses a keyed ignition that grounds the ignition and breaks the battery connection from the rest of the bike.
i did use the frame as a ground as opposed to doing a floating ground.
never had power issues even with the halogen bulb in the headlight.
what all does your bike have electrically as of now? i might be able to tell you how much wiring you need to alter vs just add in
Factory wiring shown here: >>14193535
I want keyed ignition. I figured I could just run the stop switch through the key, but the switch must be open to cut the ignition. Also want 12v lighting controlled by key, and I'll need a brake light switch.
Just posted last night about getting a supermoto of sorts last night, and an anon suggested a KTM 690 SMC. I will be picking up something either tomorrow, or sometime this weekend, and came across a couple choices.
Came across pic related, went and looked at it today, seems very clean. But I wanted to make sure, if anyone else had any experience with them.. Going to be used for single track on weekends, as well as occasionally driving it to work (30 mile commute to, 30 mile from) probably 1 or 2 times a week. How will this do for me?
My I was originally looking at a WR450, but don't seem to see any except brand new at dealerships.
Also is it possible to get knobbies for a SMC 690?
Correction: 690 SM, not SMC, im very bad with KTM model names
get a power/ignition keyswitch one set of contacts closes and one opens when you turn the key so the stop button just gets wired to the closed contacts when off.
all you have left to do to be legal is signals which just needs to piggyback on the taillight circuit, use LEDS and you dont need to worry about amp draw issues, but you need an LED relay so they'll flash
you already have a battery, rectifier and lights so you likely have a +120w stator which will handle at least a full power head and tail light in halogen while still charging.
the XR has like 5 wires total in it from the factory and i cut out 4 of them to build it
I think what you pictured is a 690SM, not a 690SMC. I'm not sure of the exact differences between the two, but I think the SMC is based on the 690 Enduro, while the SM looks more like the Duke.
I'm not sure the SM would do so great on trails.
I tried sitting on one and I was still stretching my legs out to an uncomfortable level with the kickstand put away. Shit sucks man.
Do they make a 230L? I want something street legal
I'm reading up on the TW and it seems like my best bet. Looks like a pitbull of a little bike. I like it.
little harder with phones, but if you can set exposure, change it down a step, if it lets you focus and set light balance before shooting like the 2 stage button on a camera does, focus in a bright spot then pan to your target
if you ride a dirtbike or DS you should only use one foot at a time anyways.
if you weigh under 170lbs it might also be a little oversprung for you
Yea, I know not to expect it to be anything like a mx bike, or a trail bike, but it'll be more for I guess adventure single track, not quite a woods weapon, do you think it would get by?
Yeah, I messed up, not super familiar with KTM's at all for that matter, looked at craigscunt after someone suggested the 690, came across pic related, and loved it, only to realize it was a duke, and a good call for offroad
I'm not too worried about the turn signals actually. I can just do hand signals. I'll try to find a key switch like the one you said.
The headlight is the main concern to me since I can barely see it during the day (>muh visibility) and can't see shit with it at night. Plus it would be nice if I could keep the lights on without the engine running. For DC lighting I suppose I would run wires from battery+ > keyswitch > lights > ground?
Anyway I might have to change/rewind the stator because I read somewhere that the original stator on these KTMs is meant to divert its power to the AC lights, so it will struggle to charge the battery and the DC lights. I'll see about that.
230L was an old model.
>rode xt225 finally after all this work
>only got one video on my camera
>kinda too far pointed down
shit anyways, going to make a few webms
bike isn't even done, still need to redo forks, front brake master cylinder, and new tire /tubes
didn't record the part where the front end started shaking like hell out of a turn because forks are pretty fucked
get the 3800 lumen headlight if your existing housing takes an H4 bulb
and get the ignition/power switch further down
Should I get some more meme stickers?
Was hoping BSG would make the "death by throttle" sticker, but it looks like he has took everyone's money and ran.
no I was just turning around
cut off the end, but a truck was about to turn into the street I was on and I stalled kek
anyways all my interesting footage was actually later on which I didn't actually record I guess. A guy in some scion mini car cut into a driveway right in front of me, and right in front of a cop.
this bike doesn't seem to like shifting from N->2 or 2->N
anyways thats it for now
You got no key?
Also my new bike is impossible to move into neutral while stopped, and takes a big kick to get into 1st or 2nd while stopped. Bonus: no neutral indicator so I have to feel it out every time I think I might have it there.
my drz400's brakes are shit
what do you faggots recommend as a less shit alternative so put on the cunt
What you guys use for backpacks? A friend personally recommended the ogio mach series but reviews say they are uncomfortable for regular daily wear. Kriega looks cool but seems a bit overpriced.
got steel braided brake lines yet?
cheap 35L molle pack. fits a ton inside, and you can strap endless amounts of shit to it.
Did the oil change on my DR350.
Man it was uglier than my ex wife. Less metal to report, still sounds like the cam is shit.
back into the same boat I was in before I toasted the previous engine. Is it even worth a rebuild it should I just keep dumping oil into it?
I'm contemplating getting a Grom because of cheap, cheap maintenance and I think I forgot to mention cheap.
Or I can get a V-Strom.... >:D
grom isnt gonna be real cheap to maintain since those little motors wont last with your riding.
plus a 125 just isnt gonna push a lot of miles before its tired
a strom stands a better chance
I haven't pulled the head cover off yet, but I know the engine well enough to know that when I see bits of ugly flecking in the strainer that they came from the cam journals.
I'd imagine that it's been chewed kinda sorta bad, but not bad all the way. Still looking on ebay to replace it.
Wombatanon, you need to start posting with a name xD
Grom for city, DR for the dirt and other fun.
why do i need a name, those who need to know figure it out pretty fast
Goddamn what a giant floofball.
Headwinds ain't shit. It's crosswinds and gusts that suck. See: New Mexico.
I learned two threads ago that the artist does/did futa doujins. That means at least one of the girls has a ponos.
im goin to bed nigga
gonna think on how bad an idea it is to stud the xr tires and go play on the ice this weekend too
When I get the DR back to what my stepfather built it to be, sure. I'll race you. Race you. I'll race you all day long. That big bore he put on it used to beat XR650r bikes out in the Rimrock Grand Prix back in the mid 90's
Bruh, the D100 is right around the corner. Seriously, how hard is it gonna be to tickle some balls and get the week off?
Don't forget to cross thread those fuckers and sacrifice a spare tub to line the inside of the rubber. tack it in place with rubber cement ever 6inchs so it doesn't move on you while your getting hektik.
Well the problem is I took 10 days off to ride Moab with Wombatanon like a week after the D100. Can't really afford to take two weeks off
I don't work until 2pm tomorrow fuck yeah. Working on this bottle of awful blended scotch I bought.
W-wut? I don't think I have any rekts of others on film
Pretty much. Awful. Solidifies my dislike for blended scotch
Also gyroscopic effect made it want to lean toward engine rotation so it was a constant fight to not turn with the rotary bikes.
Ooh shit I thought you were Impact as anon.
I'm conflicted because JW Red and Black is still good, but when shit like Glen and Oban (expensive tho) exist, I have a hard time going back to blended. JW has a hit and miss cycle, some times it's good, other times it goes down like Southern Comfort mixed with Barton's.
I'd rather not another ban for supposed off topic conversation (that only took nearly four fucking years), so can I get by replacing the clutch in my GS1100 with cork plates? I've never done a bike clutch before, nor am I a fan of organic material for friction application (however, this is a wet application), but this shit is expensive for the type of distance riding I want to accomplish with a thick bitch, it's not going to be raced.
its really messing with me watching bike videos. when they go knee down the look like they arent taht low but on the bike getting ther is so difficult.
or maybe i need someone to help
not really i wouldn't buy another 125cc after owning one poor acceleration for making turns on busy roads and stuff like that and screams at 58mph top speed
pic related what i have buying a small cruiser this weekend though for 1K
reminder to thank the goat motorcycle god
>nor am I a fan of organic material for friction application
Any particular reason for this? Just curious.
You had to get re-certified for the guard? Inprocessing is never any fun. You got the DR back I hope?
I have the DR still. I just need to put it into storage, since my buddy and his wife need the space it was occupying to put a new fridge for their upcoming kitchen remodel. The re-cert was pretty basic. I didn't lose my aircraft qual, just the cert that allows you to hack the mish. Finally got my pay straightened out. They have one more thing to fix then I'll be getting paid normally.
Just pick up a small uhaul space. Can mean the world to your sanity.
Scratch my statement of I've never done a bike clutch before, I've replaced the CRF clutch twice, once with cork, last Kevlar due to the cork clutch not lasting. Organic brake pads I've used for the bikes too have also been subpar. I meant I've never replaced a clutch on a 1.1l DOHC before lol, same shit though.
The price gap for GS1100s in organic and Kevlar is around 50-80 bucks depending on what I buy. I'm deciding whether to use cork since it's only street application.
That's because you bought the most shit tier 125 available
It's funny because that's in your browser history now and your ISP will also have a record of it for 7 years as mandated by law. Not to mention the cookie you accepted and the targeted ads you will receive
NB4 "I-I had cookies disabled".
fuck off cruiser faggot!
like i care
Anyone happen to have the mirror for the latest No Prisoners video?
I remember some cunts were complaining that it got taken down and I think someone posted a reupload.
can't really help you out because the first day I went out with proper leathers that had kneepucks I got my knee down.
