All fox platform cars welcome. I love these threads because there a quite a few anons with some really nice foxbodys.
I just remembered today to email you about the badges. My bad bud.
$600 shitheap checking in
lol np I don't expect much
>tfw I miss the notch I had
>tfw I miss the Mark VII I had before that
lol inb4 flyover state etc.
no I had to sell her unfinished because college
>tfw you will never own a car that shares its birth year, month, (and 1/31 chance of the day too) with you again ;_;
feels bad man
How is it restoring an aero mustang? I feel like there is way more replaments parts for them compared to four eye'd mustangs. Some parts for four eye'd mustangs are a fucking bitch to get and don't even get me started on some of the Capri specific parts. Fucking too me for fucking ever to find a Capri bulge scoop.
The only aero parts that are difficult to get are
>unbroken ashtray door (mine wasn't broken until my friend decided it was a good idea to shove something big inside of the ashtray and force it shut)
>legitimate Cobra parts
>a complete set of lights that arent yellow
Then the typical foxbody shit, complete black interior at the top of the list
fuck that sounds nice.
>that feel when a company out east is going to reproduce side molding for 79-84 mustangs and capri's soon
>I already bought some off a donor car
>I paid way too much considering they are going to reproduce them in the near future
fuck me sideways
That feeling when you can't even get gas tank straps
I wouldn't get too stressed about it. That company may never follow through on their plan. Happens all the time. Besides, repops always suck compared to the real thing. No exceptions.
> Like a rocketman
>tfw you don't own Huber's car
Why go on
It's a Mercury, and when they were selling these back in the 70's and early 80's Mercury's slogan was " The sign of a cat," and they put that cat on a lot of different cars. I wanted something that looked stock and Capri's came with ten hole wheels and cougar caps from the factory.
This looks nice anon where did you get that?
My notch wasn't really "stock" and it wasn't really "modified"
was an original base model '85, 2.3 auto car
Was a big mashup of different year parts
>5.0HO from an 88 GT
>T5Z from 93 Cobra
>8.8 from 95 Cobra
>5 lug front hubs and brakes from 96 Cobra
>87+ nose (RUINED THE CAR)
Only aftermarket shit that I found was the carb, intake, headers and H-pipe. Damn thing even had a pair of mufflers that had "Ford" stamped onto them
If you could, try to get an '86, best year
>the non shit Fuel injection
>less weight than the Aero cars
>looks better than the aero cars
The wheels? I'd rather spend money on other areas of the car first before I go with some rims. Also the only other sets I had were some trx rims that cost $1800 to put tires on and some disgusting cobras.
I just bought mine right before Christmas and the guy I bought it from had no records at all on the work the guy before him had done so as far as what is obvious so far
>H.O. 5.0 swap
>Edelbrock 4 barrel carb (plus another and a Holley for rebuilding/tinkering with)
>True dual catless Flowmaster exhaust
It definitely has some big ass cam in it too you can hear it in there at idle. I should really record the exhaust note because it's sexy as fuck. One thing it doesn't have is a T5, it's got its original SROD 4 speed and it is violent. I'll probably shop for T5s soon I may even try rebuilding one if I have fun with the carbs.
One thing I'd like to be able to figure out is what rear end it has in it. Is there an easy way to identify them?
>trick flow intake
>ported afr heads
>a/c delete and elecric fan
>3.73 gears with a differential cover
>short throw shifter
>70mm throttle body
>a shitty bama tune
If you do any mods first do support shit like
>sub frame connectors
>control arms and suspension
Then exhaust because 5.0 sound the best out of any pushrod v8 imo
My 8.8 before it blew a few holes in the old diff cover. 2 ring gear bolts backed out. And I just FUCKING PAINTED the whole rear end a few days before
