Any car made after 2000(Besides econobox cars, e.g. Hyundai elantra, kia soul, chevy Aveo) has an immboilizer in it. And Immbolizer usually cuts the starter from the ignition, and always cuts spark and fuel from the Factory.

There's no need for anything crazy on new cars. The best you can do is called. Not being an idiot. Don't leave your car running and walk away from it. Don't lose your keys. Don't leave your keys in an obvious place at a party etc.

And if you're running a car before 2000, or one of the shitboxes i've listed before, just put a alarm on it with an immbolizer, that has to be deactivated by the remote with NO valet switch.

Seriously, I've seen people put "Vipers" in their cars, and they can easily be bypassed by locating the valet switch and holding it for 5 seconds.

Physical deterrents are always stupid. The best deterrent is always electronic.
