Fishing,kayaking, hiking/general innawoods exploring
Also woodworking when I have time and a project to do
Picking up blacksmithing aswell soon when I have time to build some shit
>go to shop with Christmas voucher from cousin
>pick up a few things for doing my oil changes and a can of penetrating oil
>not paying attention to prices
>voucher is worth £25
>total ends up being £24.72
>leave feeling good
>pull into McDonalds
>go to pay window
>qt actually says something to me
>instead of replying just spaghetti smile and hand her my cash
>clearly missed my chance to know a trashy McD's employee while scoffing a quarter pounder
I'm looking for a second bike and to sell of my ninja 250
Looking for 350-700cc
Year doesn't matter
Standard, sport standard
Japanese (or if its euro, aftermarket must be viable for long term (10+years) ownership)
studying, photography, general exploring
I also like languages but won't learn any new ones, instead improving the ones I know already
I've been thinking about trying out cross country skiing, there are many trails around and usually much snow
and also I'd like a bicycle I could take through the forests
but I can't afford stuff at the moment
>tfw the cb600f is much better than the cb650f
There i said it.
It is more powerful and weighs less.
>Is probably going to be in Amsterdam.
Couldn't tell you to be honest. But I would guess half an hour would be around 100-150 Euro's if the rates are anything like they are here. Unless they're more expensive in Amsterdam which they could well be since it's a meme hooker city. Probably plenty of cheap ones around too but I'm guessing you want the red window lady experience.
why do americans always say they are really free?
3 strike laws,
That whole NSA thing,
Police are scary and will probably shoot you,
If police don't a mentally disturbed teenager will,
America sounds like a horrible place, the only thing you guys seem to have going for you is the ability to buy military grade weapons as a regular citizen.
they have a much bigger country though, with much less densely populated areas
something we don't have in central europe, and that sucks big time
Busas are honestly pig fat meme bikes that are only useful if you want to go in a straight line.
>266kg "super bike"
Obeying a law is less like "do as we say" and more like "don't do this stuff".
It's a subtle concept. But there are differences.
That's the Yamaha, right? If I don't like vtec, that would probably be a great alternative.
I kinda want to stay away from kawi. Don't get me wrong. I love team green. But I want to broaden my experiences.
A dual sport/adventure would also be great. But I want that as my second bike I would own at the same time as the bike I'm currently shopping for. This is for long term ownership and enjoyment. After that is the practical car(if I buy a cage). And then comes the dual sport.
I know how big australia is m8, what do you want to say?
I won't post all of them though, they are from this thread if you're interested
In my experience riding a bike with vtec it is fine as long as you keep it revving above the switch.
How comfortable are you with revving a bike to its limiter?
takes me a half a day to get to the tunnel
and then a day to get to the interesting parts
Takes me a few hours to get to the ferry ,where you sleep, and then you're next to the interesting parts.
>bike backfires when in high revvs down hill or dropping gears after revving the shit out of it
>performance is fine. No downsides and kind of like the noise desu
I'm gonna change oil filter, fuel filter, air filter today so may as well do plugs too.
>what plugs should I get that could help with backfiring? I realise its more to do with fueling/carbs being slightly rich?
Do plugs make a huge difference? Will some gap sizing take advantage of richfueling
It's a gs1200ss
has nothing to do with your plugs, popping when going downhill is normal as your bike runs richer when decelerating which it is doing by engine braking, and it'll be even more noticeable if you have an aftermarket exhaust and haven't rejetted/remapped for it
>mfw will be meeting drop anon next SEM if neither of us dies
I never know what to say. I think no one cares about trivial things because I dont care about them, so I never say anything.
kek , I had to move my friends bike from my barn to inside my garage for winter storage (he left it there when the riding season ended), rode the MotoGuzzi Griso 1200 for 100m and it stalled like 20 times during that trip due to cold... It was almost mirror-ice on the road which I had to ride for 10m to get from other end of my lot to the other end, needless to say I have never ridden more carefully...
>and he didn't crash
After that I had to ride my own KTM 690 around my yard, worked like a boss.
>tfw next 4 months nobiek
Yeah I guess the same goes for me.
Awwwww yis, new project bike.
Post your new acquisitions/projects DBT.
I can manage but sometimes I drop my spaghetti and it's worse because I look like a normie and it's more noticeable when I say or do something retarded
>cheap KX sold
>YZ guy not available to talk until tuesday and wouldn't go below $1200 anyway
>WR250 four stroke sold
>emailed WR250 2-stroke and haven't gotten a response
I think I'm going to buy the more expensive KX tomorrow.
>same friend who was making fun of me for waving at riders the other day brings it up again
>we were talking about what we do when we take a shit
"Hey brb I gotta check if I have cancer"
>what do you do in the bathroom, do you wave to other people?
"hahaha fuck off"
>those goddamn Harley Davidson stall users amirite?
if your going to cafe racer it pls fucking leave nigger
Went for a 20km test ride. Nothing exploded and I didn't get arrested, so far so good. It's still a death trap, but it's a consistent deathtrap now. As in, rear disc is too fucked? Ha-ha, who needs that.
>100€ on pads and bearings plus an oil filter
>40€ on a Chinese rear disc
>40€ on a battery tender (although that's not bike specific)
>still gotta ring my homeboy Juan Carlos in the mainland for two front discs he's going to get me for 100€
Just fuck my shit up. And I'm merely trying to make the thing safe, I'm not even remotely done sorting all the problems. Fuel budget for the rest of the month: 15€.
B-b-but anon, it looks pristine! It doesn't even look like it will consume your soul with 50 different problems that interact with each other and are impossible to troubleshoot!
Get a job, hippie.
I'll get your job, shitface.
Pegaso 650 GA
Well enough because working as a paramedic for a while made me stop giving any fucks but almost all normies are really fucking boring/predictable so I usually excuse myself quickly.
Has anybody here tried Pirelli Scorpion Trails? I want to get new tires next riding season and I'm hung up between the K60 Scout and aforementioned ones. Had Metzeler Tourance before and they were an absolute hazard in the rain. Not quite sure if I want to do even a little offroad riding since it's illegal pretty much everywhere here.
Nah mang, gonna strip her down and clean her real good, plastics are peeling so I'm gonna sand it and paint it. Just gonna clean her, I hate how many fucking idiots take these cool little cbs and defile them and charge ridiculous amounts for some faggy hipster bikes. Give me a month and I'll have her looking like new.
Too bad its so fucking expensive after selling you the other half of the bike
My boss actually needs more people, not too many people can stand the stank in my job, we sort through trash, recycling, etc cuz our school's to incompetent to put their stuff in the right bin. Easy job if you can handle nasty shit.
I'm trying to go for the half faired SV650 look ehueheuhe
With time I intend to get the stock fairings so I can make this thing look like it should look.
I can then sit outside one day with a beer in my hand and contemplate the glory of having restored a 90s sportsbike back to it's former glory, as the space time continuum intended it too look all the way back in 1995.
And then crash it on the togue afterwards for the glory of Satan of course.
HRrRRRRRR TOO SNOWY TO RIDE
Come work at tarczynski s.a.
All the Ukrainian qts you wish, free sausage and all of $1.50 per hour of packing suasuage
I am currently reading the report. Later in the thread there isnt much shitposting anyway. Nice to see that the destination I want to take is looking awesome. But I guess I will need another bike for a trip like that. My Zephyr is not made for anything off road and my KTM would probably break down before I leave germany.
is this instant food?
>my KTM would probably break down
so wahr ayy lmao!
>$1.50 per hour
Maybe if the Ukranian qt's are going to blow me while I work.
why does this sound so familiar
sometimes ok, sometimes rather meh
yeah it's better later in the thread.
I started reading it because I was looking for pictures of kyrgyztan.
There are very nice pictures in that thread.
And there's also an other trip he did, I started reading some time back too but haven't finished it
Kinda sorta. People eat them like chips in travel because they don't go stale as fast as other meats
Anyway how's it going
>Pretty bad. Pretty much this: >>14158990
Also I get concerned about people taking things the wrong way so I just don't talk a lot.
Could be worse.
Just give me a drink or two.
After riding my dad's 1200GS, I must say I prefer the R1150GS. The 1200 is too boring, it feels more like a i4 than a flat twin and just no mechanical feeling, all electric.
>Post your new acquisitions/projects DBT.
Not really /dbt/ related though
It's post income tax. Really, most people who work there are either Ukrainians who zapierdalają 12 hours a day and so don't even have time to spend money anywhere, or schoolkids like me who needed to be shown how brutal life gets when you fuck up
Seriously I dont think the engine would be a problem but theres other stuff to fail.
Yeah I am always impressed by the pictures some people make. Makes me feel like I have to instantly pack my bike and just start riding. I just hate the winter and not being able to seriously ride.
You have hepco & becker cases right?
Fair enough, there seems to be a lot of people who prefer the older and seemingly more rugged GSs.
The difference in power, no cruise control and other changes would be a big detractor for me in highway touring though.
She's about the size of the livingroom, only now it looks big, because there is nothing in it.
Mine has a throttle lock, which can work as a cruise control. Don't really miss power on the highway, it can cruise at 140km/h with ease.
But yeah, for pure highway touring the 1200 is better, but I didn't buy mine for highway touring.
>just start riding
I rode on a few days some days ago, I just hopped on the bike and took some random turns whenever I could, which was a lot of fun
I imagine it would be amazing doing a longer trip like that, with just heading east for example, and 2000 moneys in the pocket
>hepco & becker
Yeah this reminds me when I was new to riding. Back then I really took random roads since I didnt know any.
I would love to being able to just leave here and end up where ever it will take me. But then theres the paperwork coming up like visas and that always destroys my vision of being free and everything.
I just start to hate this western lifestyle of producing the maximum amount of waste you possibly can and I have to get out of it.
How do you like them? I have a hepco & becker frame for my Zephyr and cant decide if I should get some cheap used h&p cases I could get for 70€ or if I should get some aluminum panniers.
Isnt it fucking annoying that they open to the side so that everything comes out if you open them while they are on the bike?
maybe if you're a 12 year old redneck and don't need to go over 35 mph
You kidding? The TW is the king of all shitbikes. In fact, it's THE shitbike.
It's a 10/10 beginner bike for someone who wants something different from the typical crotch rocket look.
>don't need to go over 35 mph
Where are you getting this from? I can hit 75 on mine. I cruise at 60 mph on a regular basis.
Nice agricultural bike, farmboy, also be more gentle on those chickens and pigs.
I wouldn't doubt that there are several TW owners on /o/
It has been around for longer than most 4channers have been alive, and they can be had for pretty cheap compared to other bikes
>not having a bike you can drive to work, then immediately go on a fishing/camping trip with bros as soon as you clock out and tearing up some dirt trails
I feel sorry for you low clearance street bike fagets sometimes, but to each their own.
Anyone go anywhere cool this weekend?
Although there are some countries where you can enter for two or three months without a visum that's true for most non-EU countries.
I think I know exactly how you feel. I can't put it to words very well, but I also dislike the lifestyle of just consuming as much as possible like most of the people do and stuff like that, I'm starting to get sick of it.
I like the cases. I only them seriously a few times yet yet, the front end of the bike starts to get really wobbly when I put all the cases on the back, but that's more a thing of the bike I think.
I don't have any troubles with them opening to the side. There are these rubber bands inside that hold the stuff in the case at their place, so it's not too much of a hassle if I need to get something out of the side cases while they are mounted.
We've proposed a Deals Gap/Appalachian Super AmeriMeet a few times and people have shown interest, but nobody has taken the time to organize something.
If anyone wants to go there some time this summer I'm down to take a trip, but I doubt we can get any real meetup without planning months in advance.
And the problem is especially non eu countries attract me at the moment.
But somehow its good to hear that other people feel the same way as me. Maybe check out this site: http://reisemotorrad.eu/?report=faq&design=nature
He also has a lot of ride reports and is exactly the kind of guy that just does something instead of dreaming of. Maybe a bit illusory but still nice to read.
I guess I will go for the h&b boxes then.
>And the problem is especially non eu countries attract me at the moment.
yes, me too,
thanks for that link.
Yes, maybe it's a bit illusory. I just read a few paragraphs about what he wrote on the homepage and I can agree with many of that stuff though, especially with the topic about money and minimalism.
When I look at the people around me it always surprises me how much money they spend compared to me. Granted, I don't really have much and live off a few hundred euros per year, but like that I learned with spending as little as needed for the stuff I need, which is good.
>no, I'm a student
Enjoy it while it lasts.
are you trying to fear me
Nah, m8. No fear and no tears now. Only adventure riding.
>looking for additional part time jobs so I can afford to SEM
I'm lucky because I don't have to pay rent for my appartment right now
>looking for additional part time jobs so I can afford to SEM
I need to find something too
>let's take a Bagger, a type of motorcycle made for long distance touring
>and let's invalidate that function by lowering the thing until it's barely an inch off the ground
>and put a massive front tire on it
>and ridiculously expensive paint so we'll never, ever ride it on a road
Just put a fucking peanut tank on it and admit you're making something useless.
I just want her to be my qt adventure pillion. Phallus suckling would be nice too.
Welp, I realized that I'm also missing my chain guard too on my cbr250. It doesn't seem like the kind of part that'd get damaged easily so I'm trying to figure out why the previous owner took it off in addition to the undercowl. Undercowl made sense, make oilchanges easy.
Why the chain guard though? Easier to lube? How much more messy is this really going to make riding my bike?
I been debating the 636
Any certain year model that is particularly better?
I have a 2015 Vulcan S I really like the torque but the overall gearing is shit I struggle to go anything over 110mph. And cornering is so limited.
What's the 636 mean if its a 600? is it 636cc rounded to 600?
Tell me about the suspension friend
