Mine was an '88 Firebird with a 305 V8. Bought it from the original owner for $1500 after looking for a good deal for weeks in Autotrader mags. Drove it through HS and 6 years of college. Pic related but my non-formula version had a slightly less cool looking spoiler and hood. Hopefully I'll find a fully restored 3rd gen Trans-Am for my mid-life crisis car here in about 15 years.
DD ing for almost 6 years now
89 with a 350. hello turd gen brother
Good car to make all your beginner mistakes on, felt sturdy as fuck until I got up to 100 mph and then it started shaking, I found that to be hilarious and scary at the same time
I haven't seen a lot of masturbating over this beauty, but after some dream shopping, I think it might be the perfect sport coupe.
>Sub-$60k, not over-priced muh luxury shit meaning lower: maintenance, insurance, worry
>Still a BMW with leather and status
>Manual, auto optional, RWD
>Lightweight (relative to modern standards)
>4.1sec 0-60mph, also just as fast as an M4 around the track
I literally see nothing else as far as
>performance
>price
>luxury
Having all 3. Audi TT RS/Cayman GTS for $20k more? 370Z NISMO/Camaro ZL1/GT350 for "track-ready" $25k rental fleet cars with hard plastics everywhere?
>>17841838
>IMPLYING WE CAN AFFORD THIS SHIT
this is why WRX is king
>>17841838
The C63S makes me really wet with it's amazing sounding V8, but it easily approaches $90k+ making it a whole different class as well.
Why is the luxury sport coupe segment dead? New Supra/Z4 pls be good
There is plenty of praise over the M2, it's being called as the true M3 successor etc.
It really is a great car. It beats the more expensive TTRS on track too.
If you were born between these dates, you are a millennial (congrats, everyone hates you)
You have 1.2 minutes to tell /o/ what you drive

who here /junkyard/? love going to junkyards and finding all kinds of parts for my shitboxes
When I use to have my offroad cherokee it was like christmas everytime they had a new car in the yard. I fucking hate it when people ask for tools though, I contemplated using japanese phrases once because I'm a chink and I really didn't want any of my sockets coming back all scratched and fucked up again.
>>17841750
>I contemplated using japanese phrases once because I'm a chink
lol. rarely get asked for tools, usually i just avoid the freakshow roaming around
>>17841736
>have to drive 2.5hrs to get to the nearest scrapyard
Ugh...
>hurricane is approaching this weekend
>car is filled with gas but the battery is dead
>Autozone and Walmart are out of car batteries
Really? Did people decide to buy a new battery just before they evacuated?
Why wouldn't you check the DAY you saw a tropical storm powering up?
>>17841724
What's the game plan after getting it working again?
Also,
>Call a 24-hour battery replacing service and buy a new battery through them. At worst you pay them $10 extra.
>>17841724
>batter dead
>buys new battery
Wow, you're a fucking retard. Have you ever heard of jumper cables?
Opinions on 70's C10 chevy trucks? Not typically much of a truck guy but my dad had one when I was younger and I was thinking about getting one.
>>17841604
If they're worth a shit, you're going to pay for it up front. If they're not worth a shit, you're going to pay for it later. Plans for it? Pls don't say dd
>>17841613
I've got no problem getting one that's in rough shape, from what I understand they're easy to work on. I'd probably drive the shit out of it when I could but I wouldn't rely on it as a dd.
>>17841604
It's a truck from the 70s. It's spartan, uncomfortable, and terrible on gas. If that's what you want, go ahead and get it. But don't pay too much, because there are only a handful of people who want the blandest of the malaise-mobiles.
Gentle reminder Alfa will make this.
And it'll BTFO the opponents
>>17841536
DIESEL
>>17841550
And it will sell as well as the sedan.
I got this 2011 Chrysler 200 for 7,800 CAD or 6,400 USD. Its a v6 with 15k miles on it.
Did I made a huge mistake?
>Chrysler
Oh yeah, big time
>>17841522
>buying a 2000 sebring hardtop for 6400 usd
yea you fucked up. kys.
Yes. Why the fuck wouldn't you get an Accord instead?
Alright fuckers, heres the deal.
Some retard rear ended my 2017 Mustang in May, I hadn't even had it for a year yet. He caused $5,000 worth of damage, including damage to the frame.
The repair is mint, the body shop I went to was the best rated here been around for over 50 years and shit, very solid whatever. I'm gonna keep the car.
I want to make a diminished value claim. I have GEICO as well as the other cockbag. I live in New York, so I have a right to a DV claim.
How the fuck do I make sure I don't get ripped off?
Doesn't that kind of stuff get settled in small claims court?
Good luck waiting a year just to get a hearing.
>>17841490
No idea
>>17841482
You should be able to sue for what ever his maximum minimum coverage will cover if it fucked the value on your car.
Or you can run it into a pond and make a claim.
This may not be the right board for it, but post your best/worst car wrecks
I love how that truck just continues to try to drive around it at full speed like nothing happened
What third world shithole did this happen in?
>>17841447
I'm pretty sure that he would have made things worse if he slammed on the brakes.
>>17841530
Trucks like that have emergency brakes plus that bus was clearly losing control in enough time for him to at least start slowing down, not just try to barrel through it like a moron
/o/, burger here. What do you guys think of the Focus ST?
So recently I've had an itch for swapping in my truck for a more fun, manual car. I was initially looking at either something like a Mustang/Camaro or a Golf. The Golf would be expensive to buy upfront and the pony cars would be expensive to run (gas).
I've recently bumped into the Focus ST, what is the general consensus on this? I am a frequent lurker on here but never see it discussed. Looking at reviews, everyone in publications seem to rave about it. It is small, manual-only, and decently powerful for its size and considering its size, it seems extremely practical.
The fiesta and fpcus st are liked a lot by journalists, the biggest long term complaint I've seen is the brake vectoring eating pads.
>>17841431
Really, just excessive pad wear? I have no problem replacing pads myself on my cars, so the occasional $80 to replace pads, I feel, would be well worth it for a car that is actually kind of fun.
Very popular on this board because they are poor and its cheap. Get a BRZ instead much better sports car
is there a way to make hubcaps look nice(er) that isn't completely replacing them?
that isn't spray painting them black
Paint them pink?
Spray paint them the stock color?
Just remove them.
Anyone here uses quad as a daily commuter? Is it a bad idea?
>inb4 no practicality
I don't need it, i have no friends, I just want to get to uni faster
>>17841341
Buy a bike you dumb cunt. Quadbikes are unstable and aren't for road use.
motorcycle
>>17841341
>I just want to get to uni faster
so yeah.... ummm....... buy motorcycle then?
How much longer do we have to wait for electric bikes to become a thing edition.

first for honda a best
>They said Honda had become trapped by Japan’s “monozukuri” (literally, “making things”) approach to manufacturing. This culture of incremental improvement and production line efficiency, called “kaizen”, served the company well in the decades after World War Two, they said, but today’s challenges – electrification, computerization, self-driving cars – demand a more nimble and flexible approach.
>Most importantly, they said, over the past two decades company executives in Tokyo were given too much control over research and development. In their view, this led to shareholder value being prioritized over innovation. There was a reluctance to draw on talent from outside Japan. In its quest to deliver for shareholders, Honda sought to maximize volume and profit and match the product range of its main Japanese rival, Toyota.
So Honda's last two CEOs tried to pull a GM and look what happened
