Does Uber pay decently?
thinking of signing up and wondering if anyone here has experience.
my yearly repair bill is getting to the point that I could finance / lease a new car. I'm currently at University and unemployed but if I drove for Uber a lease is a business expense where finance is not a tax deductible expense.
thoughts / experience / stories
There is alot better paying work obviously but like me, you are only good at driving.
Up to you.

>worried about tax deductions
yep, uber is the perfect job for you
No. They don't pay well enough to compensate for increased wear and tear on your vehicle or rude customers, good luck getting them to pay out if a rider damages your car, and iirc you have to get commercial insurance separately, most insurance companies won't cover an accident that happened while you were driving for business on a normal policy.
Hello, /auto/
My friend wants to buy her first car. Do you have any suggestions? Price range: $12,000. Pic related, she might be interested in the Fit.

Tonight I've had to deal with two retards pulling up so close to my car I could barely see their lights. Safe distance be damned. They came in hot flashing lights honking and everything as if I'm supposed to accelerate past the speed limit
How the fuck do I deal with these bastards?
I don't want to get into a fucking accident but these fucking assholes are going to slam right into me if I brake for any reason and given how they drive they're probably gonna come out of their cars shouting and being violent and I really don't want to deal with these fucking bastards I don't really want to have to defend myself so what do I do about these problem drivers how do I get them to fuck off my back
pull over if you're that much of a puss
>>17277831
I'm fine thanks.
>>17277813
Brake check them anyways in your shit box.
Make sure you do it hard enough they can't drive far... claim insurance, get new car...
Make sure when you get out of your car you say "Ah fuck my neck, owww it hurts"

I found this random empty street while riding today, it's like 6 lanes wide with no stripes and nothing on it. Post weird places you found while riding.

Just sold my CBR500R today and am going to look (and most likely buy) a 2011 white hayabusa with 22k miles on it for 6,900$ tomorrow.
It has ceramic bearings and swapped/tuned exhaust already.
Good deal or should I offer a bit less?
>>17277619
I dont have a pic but i have like a 10-15km strip of road going to a power plant or some shit that barely gets used
Kek i thought this was only like pic related in Initial D.
Until i saw it in real life yesterday evening at the national rally championship of my country.

Ur mom lol
Why wouldn't you want a HUMMER?
I do. You can talk the dealers way down on them. But I can only have one vehicle at a time for now and I couldn't deal with the rattles inside.
i think they're pretty cool
i don't know what's doug shitmuro's problem
Not sure i'd get an H2 though, maybe an H3.
They're for fucking insecure tryhards. Also, the quality sucks and it's nothing like the army car on which it is based on
They still prefer these but the supply is limited

Not sure OP, but I would like to get /o/'s opinion on seafoam if we're having a fuel additives thread?
I've started adding it to my fuel every 2000 miles or so. Not sure if it's doing anything, but it's definitely not hurting anything.
if you have a really clean running car and run premium octane, it won't do much of anything
>>17277468
shit's great, I seafoam every old beater I buy even if I'm flipping them. people look at you like you're insane when you use it though
>>17276076
I used one of those things like a year ago in my car, I didn't notice much, just MAYBE a better response, but it might have just been placebo effect.
Did my auto shop screw me over or is this normal at all auto shops? I live in California.

I feel like I don't know shit about cars. I drive a 2008 Toyota Camry. Never been on the highway. Never changed a tire. I don't parallel park. I don't speed.
I just feel so disconnected from my car. I got it about 8 months ago. I bought it so I could see a woman more often but she friend zoned me and I cut contact. Before that I was taking the bus which was a curse and boon.
Basically, how do I feel like less of a bitch when dealing with cars? I just don't want to break it.
>>17274748
Get a repair manual, and set of tools and start doing basic maintenance on your shit box, like oil and filter changes
That's how almost all of us all learned.
If you can get a second car, get a really cheap shitty car you won't mind breaking, preferably manual. Then proceed to have fun in it, stomp on the gas at highway on ramps, take turns extra hard, do stuff in empty parking lots.
>driving for 8 months
>Never been on the highway
Literally how. Do you just not go places?
I know muscle cars and in general American cars in the 70's went to total shit, but the 50's and mainly the 60's seemed to have lots of quality beautiful muscle cars. I'm curious if the quality of those cars were typical American standard of being rubbish and breaking down or were things better back then?
no
hardly any old cars are reliable
inb4 some idiot comes in and claims they are reliable because they are simple to fix despite the fact they need constant attention
70s used the same tech as the 50s and 60s just with some catalytic converters
>17274540
>American standard of being rubbish and breaking down
(OP)
Build quality was shit. At least they were cheap. Thats the appeal.
I was wondering what would be the most cost effective way to get some power out of this car. Should I just swap the Turbo 13B into it?
V8 swap
Is the R32 yours as well?
