Why don't manufacturers sell factory-stanced cars?
It's obviously objectively superior both technologically and aesthetically.

You must go places in a very short bus.
So, I've been shopping around for a sporty covertible rwd car for the last month.
Mostly NC and ND miata's, even looked at an MR-S.I either wanted to spend very little, or just finance something nice.
Well, I got discouraged by all the shitty examples of cheaper cars, and the over pricing of the newer ones. So I kind of gave up for a little bit.
Then... I found a 1993 MR2 for $3k. Hmm... 2.2 N/A motor, manual, t-tops, seems in good condition for the year. Talked the owner down to $2500. Gonna get it tomorrow.
I figure instead of paying $6-10K for an MR-S or NC miata, or $20k for an ND, I could just put a small portion of that money into swapping a V6 into an older MR2.
ITT: Second Gen MR2's?
Try /tg/ mate. Ain't nobody give a fuck here.
>>17300037
Is it blue by any chance?
Also, if you do get it, don't fucking V6 swap it. If you are going to swap it at all, just buy a JDM 3S-GTE and get a CT20b.
Otherwise, good find. Go for it.
Are car dealerships a scam?
>>17300035
If you don't know how to price haggle, yes.
>>17300035
It's business that is out to make most money as possible. It is scam if your dumb.

Being a lolgm vehicle the ABS light is probably intentional.
I'm more concerned with the high beams being on during daylight hours.

Anything is repairable with enough steel, cutting discs and welding equipment

Esca what. And what's the shitheap in your pic.

Alright /o/, tell me how I fucked up.
Every time i change my oil, I have to overtighten the filter or else it leaks right from the filter gasket. And I mean using a filter wrench and turning until it completely stops, probably 50+ ft-lbs.
Ive tried 3 different brands of filters all with the same result, made sure there's no stuck gasket or crossthreading, and even tightened the filter fitting that screws into the block.
Car/engine is a 2004 Durango with a rebuilt 5.7l hemi.
Pic related, its the oil fitting.
>>17299010
Get a remote oil filter setup and slather it onto the block with a good amout of RTV silicone. You should be fine.
>>17299010
I have seen this EXACT problem on another rebuilt 5.7 hemi in a chrysler 300
look for rough or sharp edges on the filter mount.
if nothing, get something straight like a ruler and put it on the edge where the seal rests and check for gaps. pic kind of related, it's what i'm trying to explain.
and i assume you're not a complete idiot and put oil on the seal first?
>What shit are you waiting to do on your auto and you've put it off till last minute..

Front shocks on my cruiser.
pay it off and buy another so i dont have to put so many damn miles on it
So I'm driving home from work and end up in the middle lane with merge to my right, someone is at my shoulder I slow down and let him pass. I see some ugly blue LED lights behind me with an ugly sounding fartcan exhaust at redline. I downshift and gas it keep in mind he had advantage of being redline as he was catching up. On the curb up ahead where the merge ends there are many cars parked there. So I'm gassing it and have little the lead with him behind my passenger door. He's still going and put me in a fucked up situation where if I didn't slow down he'd hit me and the parked cars on side. I moved mover nearly going over line and slam brakes because he almost hit me. Does this ricer go on the rest of the day with a moral victory thinking he blew me the fuck out? For me it's not worth standing on side of the road for hours because some edgelord with his riced out Scion decided to put others in harm. Has this ever happened to you?
tldr floor it fag
>>17298774
He would have been sandwiched between me and parked cars on curb
stop typing so much and drive better you double nigger

Is there a general consensus on the Isuzu impulse RS?
I found a good deal on one that just needs a fuel pump.
I think they have a really agressive front end.
>1.6 turbo 160 HP
>Handling stuff all devoloped by lotus
>Less than 3k pounds
>63/37 weigh distribution isn't great
>Rear wheel bias AWD
>>17297823
>needs a fuel pump.
Which means you won't be able to start the engine when inspecting it.
>>17297823
It's sick but pretty fucking rare. I'd imagine finding parts and keeping it maintained would be a bitch. I Wis no because I have a similarly uncommon car.
>t. Nissan NX owner
>>17297823
Its just 3k, not that much to lose. If you can't afford to take a chance on a 90's sports car, its probably a chance not worth taking.

Why are Corvettes often labelled as a "mid-life crisis car."?
>>17297298
Dunno. Doesn't really make sense when you consider only middle aged men who are financially stable can actually afford one.
>>17297298
Because most of them are driven by middle age men, and occasionally women.
>>17297298
Because most of men are purchased by men who want to feel 20 y.o. again when they hit 50 y.o. As a result, they buy a sports car they ever dreamt about when did not have the money.
