Dream Project Car Thread
Decently Realistic for Your Future Edition.
Operation: Restomod
I think an old British roadster like a Triumph Spitfire or Austin-Healey 3000, Motus' 180 hp, 100 cu in, FI OHV/2v V4 with offset firing order, and an S2000 transmission could be one of the most unique and rewarding builds. The shape of the car is timeless, the engine is in keeping close enough to the character (no LS swap here) with similar power but with a fun twist of Americana to it and releaving one's self of old British engine maintenance, and the S2000 transmission because, well, it feels the best.
I'd like a 2.5-16 Evo with a fully built F20 all motor setup and lots of carbon fiber and kevlar goodies to use as a fun weekend car/ occasionally track weapon.
Nash Metropolitan with mercedes om617 diesel bolted to the 3 on the tree with vintage air ac.

you know the healey was powered with a straight 6 right? thats where the 3000 bit comes from. the engine was from a car called the austin tasman. and there are better v6s you could have used instead of a v4 for ta 6 speed you could cave used a stronger gearbox like the t56 used in the viper. and come to think of it the v10 as well.

Hyper sport tires for day to day usage y/n?
>>17299727
No.
>>17299719
No, why?
Reminder: that 10k you spent on aftermarket mods didn't make you nearly as fast as 10k worth of track time and racing lessons would have
A good chunk of change spent on tires and brakes helps a lot though.

Performance isn't cheap, especially for cheap shitty engines
>>17299101
What else would I have to do if I had a supercharger for the supercharged version of the engine?

Maserati is so good, that when they break down, not even 3 mechanics can figure out why it wont start.
>>17299024
STFU you manlet go wash your soiled ass.
God damn brake line bullshit.
my 04 nissan titan had mushy brakes today. this bitch fitting was the culprit.
The bold head was so corroded no wrench would fit and the vice grips just crushed it into a differnt but equally usesless shape.
So now we're here, cotter pin the a 9/64 hole i drilled through it.
That didn't work
Holy. Fuck.
The fucking junction block is aluminum, with steel lines, it might as well be welded together.
seems like it's time to buy a new car
What does /o/ think of Jay Leno?
He isn't /our guy/, he is too good for this cesspool
Obnoxious American, next question.

Please tell me there is a group of people autistic enough to do this. Please. Apart from it being some autobahn thing, then that's worth doing I'd reckon.
Is there a more altruistic car manufacturer?
>>17298065
autistic*
>>17298071
No, I meant altruistic.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altruism
Taking tax money to make a car only the bourgeoisie can afford isn't altruistic.

Why does any supercar manufacturer even bother at this point?
Nothing comes close to the Bugatti Chiron.
A conman in a shed came very fucking close using a Lotus and a boosted LS.

pick one. It's designed for going fast in a straight line. not exactly sporty. it's too heavy and big to be good on the touge.
>all these Skyline posters suddenly show up in one thread

What gives? You guys basically have some of the best looking cars on /o/.
In fact, why don't we have a JDM general? Is it because this board is mostly visited by Americans who can't get imports?
Anyways, commencing Skyline picture dump
We need more JDM posters on this board desu, it is a Japanese website after all

They make light covers that do that on Ebay.
