Is Toyota reliability real or just a meme? Thinking of buying a Tacoma but unsure of the high miles these things tend to have.
>>17328779
A well taken care of domestic truck will be just as reliable. For what a used Toyota costs you can lease a brand new full sized truck which will be more reliable than a used Toyota.
Toyota 4 cylinder trucks are reliable as shit, stay away from the 3.0L v6, the 3.4 v6 has some of the same problems but not as bad, everything beyond to my knowledge is gold
>>17328779
It's not a meme, but they are certainly not worth the premium that people and dealers charge for them

I have $3k and live in Denver. Buy me a car.
>>17328537

>>17328649
Honestly a pretty good buy.
>>17328649
I'd drive that. I've been looking at shit like 95 legends and early 00s TL's and the like.
Should I put a spoiler on my 2017 Corolla SE?
How much do spoilers usually cost?
Will it look ridiculous?
Should I have gotten a Honda Civic?
>>17328404
Take it back and go get a Veloster if you wanna rice shit.
Christ that front end atrocious, your car already looks ridiculous so might as well put it on the bonnet.
Also yes, you should have.
>>17328404
I would recomend that you use a wing instead of a spoiler because you're going to need all the downforce possible to whip in and out of mall parking lots fast enough to impress the ladies
P.s Girls love big wings

what the actual fuck was Toyota thinking?
It's because of Toyotas manufacturing ethos, they try to perfect the process as much as possible, so having 20 different configs on a low production car isn't going to happen, for the same reason they don't constantly update and refresh models/chassis. They will never have the newest tech and flashiest doodads on the Land Cruiser. They are great though, they just don't really have a market anymore, not many people care about a dead reliable, rock solid SUV with 10 year old tech. The LC and G Wagon have their devotees but don't really draw in new buyers.
>>17328314
The Nissan Patrol / Armada has 90% of the capability of the Land Cruiser at only 50% of the cost.
>>17328358
more like 900%
140,000 miles on my '01 Toyota Camry, never really had any problems. Check engine light has been on for about 30,000 miles but was told not to worry about it.
Oil light started coming on and off last week. Drove 300-400 miles with that then went and got it changed. Works fine for a week. Going down interstate, about 85mph when I hear a high pitched rumble, oil light comes back on, check engine starts blinking, engine vibrates violently and starts to die, continues vibrating violently even in idle.
Any ideas? It's at a mechanic so I can't check on it right now but they said I will need a new engine.
>>17328292
did you ever bother to check if there was oil in it after you had it changed m8
Sounds like it may have starved. If so, its fucked.
>>17328292
sounds like a bent rod, shit is fucked m80.
https://www.motor1.com/news/147585/lincoln-earns-highest-loyalty-rate/
Lincoln owners are the most loyal to the brand. They are also the most happiest and most contempt with their cars
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/american-consumer-satisfaction-index-2016-shows-lincoln-has-happiest-customers-110595.html
Why are they so happy?
>>17328080
Customers with dementia (Lincoln's base):
- Generally do not enjoy good cars.
- Forget their bad experiences quickly.
I was wondering when the daily Lincoln shill thread would pop up.
>>17328080
>contempt
you mean content, dumbass
>tfw new car has so much power that it isn't even fun anymore
I could literally just leave it in 5th gear and never feel like I'm lacking torque, over-revved, or constrained from highway speeds. I want my old shitbox back.
>>17327760
Get a motorcycle or start doing touge runs.
Curves are infinitely more fun than driving in a straight line and going as fast as possible.
>>17327760
What car?
>>17327815
Its the same with a car /dbt/ friend. I hoon my bike whether on straights or twisties. I do the same in my shit frontier. Gotta race everybody light to light or in the twisties.
my city is putting in new speed cameras on a major road near me I am interested in knowing was of detection or prevention of speed cameras and radars. I had seen before clear paint that can be applied to license plates to interrupt photographs but it seemed like bs. Is there any good radar detectors on the market that pick up on speed cameras and perhaps police radios ?
pic unrelated
TR;DR : radar detectors and the like
>>17327745
if you travel above the speed of light they won't be able to catch your plate

Today I test drove a WRX, FoST, GTI SE all 2017s
For me, its the FoST and its not even close .
WRX- great acceleration and torque but stiff as Viagra dick and loud as fuck. If you're getting that as a DD than there's a lot of truth to the stereotype
GTI- total cuck sedan. literally can't hear a thing when you turn the car on or accelerate and the interior is this gay ass plaid stitching unless you get literally the highest trim you can get leather. Good handling but acceleration was lacking
FoST- fully loaded sticker was 30k which was 1k less than the GTI I drove and was sooo much more car. had a big Nav screen the entire thing was push button speak commands. Smooth as hell shifts, really fast acting turbo overall best in every aspect out of all three other than the pure acceleration of the rex
Love my FiST, enjoy your new car
I haven't driven a GTI, but I didn't like the 2.5L Golf I drove. Felt super numb to drive, even if it was "nice." Zero feedback, like playing a video game with no FFB.
>>17327674
Wrx is better performance value, Focus is better commuter. It's quite simple OP
>>17327709
this sums up my point tho. Literally who is taking their DD to the track? If you're buying you car cause its a better performance value to speed on the highway then the racerboy meme is very fitting to a wrx.

>>17327515
Lmao!!
Can someone explain to me why BMW made the M series so much better than the plebeian models?
>>17327462
they tear down almost everything in the suspension and drivetrain from the normal car.
>>17327462
Because they like racing and having fast cars but still need to sell the crap so they can make money.
>>17327462
They're halo cars that look like the normal shit they sale. So the poorfags can pretend.
That being said certain models the sold in the past were close to what the M models offered. My Msport 540i is basically M5 without the engine.
Anon do you name your sweet ride?
>>17327337
Yes, I name them girl names like an autist, but I still haven't found a name for my newest shitbox. Names for my past cars were Eva, Ghia, Karen, Maho, Ryoko, Catalina, and Rosanna.
My cars name is Mr. Bones because it fucking rattles all of the time.
>>17327337
No but my dad named his 2002 Volvo V70 Mulva.

That 964 would look great with wheels that didn't look like some knockoff ebay meme-tier garbage, and static suspension that's lifted up enough to still be functional. Air ride is for pussies.
