Edgelord over here
Why does the most prestigious luxury car brand (that's accessible to the average person) depreciate so quickly?
>>17363930
Ummm.. they don't.
Also that's not their logo.
>>17363930
Not only are they overpriced to begin with but also the supply of these cars is absolutely immense
The supply far exceeds demand so the price drives down to meet demand
It's science

What happened to soul and passion, /o/?
When did it die?
Nissan happened.
>>17363748
This. Nissan makes jack shit that's interesting anymore. Even the GTR is boring and bland.
I'd say after the late 90s for japanese cars
Oh no it almost killed their 6 year old, what a shame

Why do you keep coming back to /o/ from Reddit, OP?

minivans with power doors have been recalled for less, not surprised.

If all passengers involved were wearing seatbelts, nobody's life was in imminent danger and this is just rich people being cunts as usual.
What is a Mr. Bob? A mister bob is a neighbor or friend who always wears either shorts or kahkis with tucked in collared shirts. Mr. Bob also happens to be a fucking pussy slayer and a genius when it comes to diy shit. Mr. Bobs are skilled in all fields of car modding, alarm going off fixing, fixing up a broken down, and replacing fucking anything. If you have a Mr. Bob be sure to thank him the next time you see him for fucking everything he's done for you.
RIP Mr Bob
miss u

How can I become a Mr Bob?
I used to be that "Mister Bob" and I fucking hated it because my neighbors wouldn't stop bothering me about their car problems. And of course I had to help them because having pissed off neighbors makes your life miserable so I ended up moving away instead.
What does /o/ think of the Toyota echo? They look like a good car for the price. Would you guys think it's a good first car? Would there be any other good options for a first car?
I hate the whole speedometer in the middle thing
>>17374289
The Toyota Echo was the world's first car to come out of the factory looking like it was rear-ended.
>>17374293
I used to own an xB. After a few minutes you forget about it entirely.
anything off or bad with the ats?

>>17373450
There's a chance the car could transform into a robot and proceed to beat the living fuck out of you then shoot up your corpse into red paste.
You were warned.
>>17373472
that doesn't sound all that bad
anybody?
>a used 2017 can be had for 19k w/ 5000 miles on it
there's gotta be something wrong with them.
what's a car like this from the same period that's cheaper/easier to find
>>17373250
That IS it. If you can't find anything cheaper than that, then you're being too picky.
Suzuki Swift, Geo Metro, etc.
>>17373250

just schedule a test, you literally just drive around the block and parallel park
>>17373237
I was in the same situation, just study super hard like obsessively on like...things that make you specifically fail the drivers test. I had about 5-9 times to practice driving with others (hour at most) and 6 hour pack of drivers lessons before I passed my test the second time (barely passed though)
>>17373237
You sound like me except I'm 23 and I actually can't practice with parents cause I'm living abroad for my studies
Anyone knows a way to practice more? It's 15 mandatory hours at the driving school and $50/extra hour which I don't wanna pay
Near miss wrenching stories thread? This just happened.
>replace fuel pressure regulator
>O ring is super tight fit
>bolts go into bracket just fine
>tighten down, connect hoses
>reconnect battery
>turn key to accessory position a few times to prime rail
>ignition
>fuel starts spraying out of the rail onto the alternator and air intake
>fuck fuck fuck
>at least a pint of fuel
>O ring hadn't sealed
>pull it and reseat it, works fine
Adventure!
lol same thing happened to me once I'm glad it didnt burn my car down
>>17373172
It was surprising how fast it was spraying out.
The good news is my fuel pump seems fine.
>>17373159
Not exactly on-topic, but fun wrenching story. Had a Saturn SL-something, beater car that got passed from sibling to sibling. Seemed absolutely gutless to me, but hey, its a 4-cyl, right? It heated up way too fast (seemed lioke a head gasket), and seemed to have super-high crankcase pressure. If you just unscrewed the cap while it was running, it would blow it off. Any how, it ran, and ran, and ran, and just wouldn't die. Passed through four siblings before it finally threw a rod bearing.
So we pop off the heads, and dad is like "What the fuck it that"? One of the pistons has a chunk as big around as a quarter just missing out of it, and there is a hole in the cylinder wall. It had probably been like that for years (going back to the crankcase pressure thing), but the fucking thing just kept going.
My girlfriend tried to take her car in for an oil change but they stated that the oil pan screw was stripped and they were not able to change her oil.
My question is, does the oil pan have to be completely replaced or can I just removed the stripped bolt and re thread it and buy a new bolt? I wouldn't see why I couldn't just rethread but I'm not too car savvy and I usually come to the board for advice. Thanks all.
>>17373087
If you have to ask, you can't do either.
They probably mean the head was stripped. Buy a new screw, then get the old one out by grinding flats onto it, welding a nut to it, pipe wrench, etc.
You think rethreading an oil pan is the easier of the two options? No. Fuck no.
I just got a mint 2001 Ford Mustang with 28,000 miles on it
Went down to drag strip and did pretty well
Talked to my father who said it would be a better idea to save up and buy another mustang with a V8 rather than add to the V6
However I've read that there's centrifugal superchargers that can add on another 170-200 whp
That and you add a intake and a few other bits and you got a car that can beat V8 mustangs easily
I feel personally that it would be cheaper to buy the mods and mod the V6 rather than buying a whole new goddamn car but I want /o/'s opinion
Pic related it's the mustang
>v6
>mint
>drag strip
>>17372927
this
you fucked up, nigger
DD it like an old diabetic jewish bitch
>>17372917
Adding performance mods to a V6 is not ricing it, as long as it actually goes faster.
But seriously you should just get another car first and tune that one. Even a v8 version of your car is like 4k
Why is it that every time people talk about wheel hp vs crank hp, the wheel hp is always significantly lower than crank hp? Like, a 250 hp engine can only put out like 160 or so hp at the wheel, presumably due to drivetrain losses.
Why hasn't anyone made a system where the drivetrain actually adds horsepower? So an engine could make 250 hp at the crank but put out 300+ hp at the wheel? You'd get way more performance out of cars if you actually gained power through the drivetrain.
>tuned GTR makes 1200 at the crank
>800 at the wheels
>a civic makes 110 at the crank
>80 hp at the wheels
makes you think.................
>being retarded
>Why hasn't anyone made a system where the drivetrain actually adds horsepower

I am a new driver and I am relatively poor all things considered but I have some money in the bank just to buy a car, my budget is 16k to 22k euros
I live in a town with shitty roads
Feel free to ask anything

Am i not better off with a new car?

If you're 'relatively poor' why are you spending 16 to 22k on a car?
