name a better crossover than the Subaru Crosstreck
>>17378638
Honda hrv although I believe the crosstrek is compact crossover not subcompact.
Let me explain.
Subaru in the past has had issues with bearings as well as gaskits( although not sure if true today)..ofc the awd system is superior to Hondas...and most awd equipped vehicles. The Subaru cvt is OK...but not great. Also real world mpg is not where it should be.
Honda gets my win for this one because the awd system is good enough for most applications. The real world mpg is great but Honda has been killing it with the cvts.
I will 100 percent admit the crosstrek is a better looking rig though
Boring cars for boring people.
How much more different is it to drive a standard truck from a standard car? Does the shifter follow the same pattern? If it's 4x4 do you need to know anything about the second shifter?
Basically would I be able to drive it home? My only experience is driving my manual car
Dont touch the second shifter unless you need to be in 4x4 which you shouldn't. It works the same but the clutch will feel different. For examplr my 95 s10 has a very soft clutch with a wide bite point so its pretty forgiving

Ok thank you for the tip

I've got a 2000 Jeep WJ with the 4.7, it jumped time due to a bad tensioner, put a new timing set ($200) on and have ~60psi in the passenger cylinder head.
I've quoted
>$600 for a set of heads (<100k mi)
or
>$2500 for a engine (<100k mi)
The trucks got 270k on the clock and I don't see either option being worthwhile with the KBB around $1500.
What do?
reminder that the X300 XJ6 and XJR (1995-2003) still exist, are still pretty cheap, still amazingly reliable, still have that kind of old school cool to them

i know, but it's true
literally any other jag is a piece of shit but these guys are unstoppable
What's with synthetic oil? My late 80's benz had 10w30 mobile 1 synthetic, and just replaced it with 20w50 conventional, and now all the idling hiccups are gone, and oil pressure is MAXED out. Why would you put this shit in your car if it was not designed for it?
What's the push for synthetic all about? The only argument I hear is that it's good if you're too lazy/cheap to change your oil every 3,000 miles.
>>17378394
Sounds like your engine's worn out, if putting heavier weights in it brings it back. Keep it up, I guess. Might want to try adding something like motor honey to your engine as well, it'll help seal stuff up too. But it's just stopgap measures though, your engine is on its way to the junkyard, it's just a question of how fast or slow it gets there.
nigger you put 20w50 in it of course the oil pressure is gonna be maxed. Oil flow>Pressure otherwise you may as well run gear oil.
Synthetic is better in every way, but your old shitbox was never meant for it, newer engines have tighter clearances that don't require thicker oils and need oils that are really stable and don't break down under heavy load. fuck it imma stop here.

>tfw you realize every car, no matter how new or old, is slowly but surely on its way to the junkyard
>tfw you realize we are all on our way to the proverbial junkyard
Do people seriously have sex with their car?

How does insurance work for hail damage? Big storm coming in and just got a new car I'm scared lads, full coverage btw. Do the insurance Jews screw you?
SHOULD fall under comprehensive insurance.
It's not considered a collision.
If covered:
A claims agent will come out and do an estimate or they will send you to a body shop and have them do the estimate. Likely the latter.
If not covered:
UUUHHH You're kind of screwed.
>>17378354
So full coverage might not cover it?
>>17378374
Full coverage should cover it provided you have collision.
They tend to fall on the same specter.
Or rather, they often get thrown in together to punch more money out of you.
If I wanted to add functional headlight wipers to my 08 Civic how much would it cost?
This is very important
Do a JDM Volvo front end conversion. Pretty common mod should cost a couple grand

Just watched this video. What do you think of some of these engines? I think the Free Piston one is retarded since it's gonna shake like crazy.
i don't want to watch that shit but i like your image
Theres nothing wrong with the video and it has the people who designed them tell you it. Thats a Circular Engine and its the first one shown. It does look like click bait shit though
>>17378205
The Douk Engine is whack. I love it.
The free piston one seems to be a range extender for EVs? I don't think it would end large enoung to rattle itself to death lmao.
Does using a cheap offbrand oil affect performance? Are there any cons to doing this?
It doesn't matter, Anon. Your car is a turd.
>>17378184
Thanks buddy, you helped a fucking lot.
can't say i know enough about cars to give you a definitive answer but i would assume the cheaper oil is just worse on the car, maybe have to change it more often
I need help identifying outboard motors. Pics incoming

That one's an Eska, 1.2HP
Is this a good classic car to buy?
>>17378172
No. Coupes are more collectible
If you have the time and money to do major repairs at least twice a year.
>>17378172
sure, i guess. the good:
-drivetrain will outlast entropy death of the universe
-interior when maintained is surprisingly modern and comfortable.
-timeless styling, imho.
the bad:
-most have serious rust problems
-have fun spending a month chasing down problems in the vacuum system
-electrical system has probably gone to shit
-glacial acceleration
-parts are expensive and hard to find
I'm looking into body kits for my mustang and was wondering if this looks too ricey? I want something that makes it look better than the stock bumpers
Pic related it's the body kit
>>17378053
Fuck off v6 mustang idiot.
