Aye, I'm thinking about buying a Nissan skyline in the near future. My question is: is there a "huge" differnce between the GTS-T and the GTR? I know that the GTR as all wheel drive and some other nimble features. It's really hard to find a GTR in my price range that is in good enough condition. I have found a few stock GTS-Ts that are in my price range. Should I wait on a good deal for the GTR or go with the GTS-T?
GTR
>bigger engine
>all wheel drive
>twin turbo
>better gearbox
>wider body and different bodykit
>different wheels
and probably more
>>17423924
Depends.
If you would also buy a 911 interchangeably just for the performance, get the GTR. The track performance will not let you down, since that's what you're looking for.
If you just want a skyline, get the GTS-t

Do you think it would be possible to make a GTS-T as fast a GTR with aftermarket products? Or would you be limited by the engine?

See pic related.
Picked up a JDM OEM cup holder for the Starlet yesterday. It was pretty dirty, but a bit of cleaning and then relubricating with silicon has it looking and working good as new.

That's pretty cool. How much?
/career/ thread
How many of you actually work on cars?
What do you guys do?
I do.
Fix broken ones, service not broken ones, and look at not broken ones and tell customers they are not broken.
>>17437500
Holy shit had no idea man
Let me ask you guys a question when you get back in..
Basically you drop a car off for some minor work, they "never" get to work the day you drop off do they? Car probably sits around for a day and than they put in about 2-3 hours of work on your car and move to the next car after a break..
This is normal right..

currently funemployed and careerless. only have my HS diploma
worked for Fedex as a package handler for a month and quick a 3 weeks ago. Before that I worked for my dad as he is in the Life Insurance business.
I think I'm going to sell my second/weekend car and live off that for the summer.
Maybe I'll even go back to school for engineering.
Here you go Chevy, just fixed the Camaro

Hey /o/ quick question. Does bypassing your air conditioning actually increase horsepower or is that just a myth? Pic unrelated
>>17434368
It's legit, A/C puts additional load on the engine.
It increases WHP by reducing parasitic loss
You don't want to bypass the system, you want to remove the A/C compressor. That being said, it's a small gain and you lose A/C. Not really worth it IMO.
So my buddy has bought a car. And refuses to tell me what it is.
He sent me 2 poor quality pictures (which were cropped from larger ones, and compressed over text message).
All I know-
1. Not American (ford, chevy, etc.)
2. Not a Honda.
3. Not a truck
4. He is going to race a 5th gen Honda Prelude H22 5spd (200hp) and said it would be "an interesting race" so I'm thinking 180 - 250 hp
My guess was something German. But It's really bugging me not knowing for some reason.
He'll tell me when he goes to get it but I won't know until then. Any guesses?
don't take me for granted but kinda looks like subaru interior
>>17434334
It almost looks like a toyota / lexus SUV interior. I want to say it's a 3rd gen Lexus ... land cruiser? Or the Toyota 4runner from like 2005.
It's got the "WARNING YOU WILL ROLL AND DIE" stickers from SUV's

If you've never done anything like this before how can you call yourself a driver?
I have done stuff like that on a track where I am not freaking people out. If some mother driving her kids home from soccer practice panics because she thought she would be hit by you, she could crash.

I'll repair components myself, but I will never do my own oil change again. It just isn't cost economical for all the effort you expend.
>>17432553
I changed my oil in 30 minutes.
>>17432553
>all the effort you expend.
>jack up car, throw stands under, pull drain plug and filter
>drink a beer
> replace plug and filter, lower can and fill with fresh oil.
takes about 30 minutes, faster than going to the dealer or the local shop.
