Was enlisting in the Navy and my folks were not gonna hold onto it

Probably
>>type of person you sold it to
Korean dude, only a little older than me at the time. As he was checking it out he already explained he wanted to RB swap it and I started to die inside.
>>how much did you sell it for
Experience was so traumatic, I can't even remember. I wanna say $3200 but might have been 2800. I probably had 8k total invested
>>17455834
do you have any pics of the car, im sorry for your loss
Which part of the globe has the best car culture and why?
Different parts are neat for different things.
Japan seems pretty neat. No one gives a fuck about what you're into or how you modify your car as long as you're passionate about it. Those nips generally don't seem to be that judgemental.
Basically the polar opposite of /o/.
southern California
its been the center for car culture since car culture was a thing
birthplace of import scene
birthplace of hotrodders
birthplace of lowriders

tons of shops
tons of good roads

what are a few simple mods i can put on my 3k civic ?
taking it to the scrapyard
>>17461385
why would i do that to a perfectly fine 3k civic, when i can put a few simple mods on it and have supercar levels of performance ?
JDM K20 + turbo
Just 10k and an afternoon and you'll have a race car.
Does this seem like a good deal? I'm afraid it might be stolen or something. What questions should I ask about it?
Dude it has a clean title. Just take that piece of paper to the DMV and have them check it out if you really think it's stolen.
>>17461318
In the UK you can check plates pretty easily through a gov website, can you do that where you are? On the outside it doesn't look bad, same with inside, I doubt it's been cut and shut or anything like that.
>>17461318
No. it's a shit car. just get a civic for that price.
700 hp
how faster will this beast lap the ring than the 918 spyder?
>>17459749
Added some options and was at 330k ouch
>>17461507
That's the Porsche way of doing things
>base model is semi-reasonably priced but has less features than base model Mitsubishi Mirage
>charge 10k for a package that gives as many features as a base Honda Civic
>charge 1k for every little badge, color, and piece of chrome
>leave a dozen performance-oriented options on the table (including weight reduction which actually removes stuff) for 5k each
You can't really pay base price for a Porsche
>>17459749
It will not be faster than the 918 spyder. The best times from the prototype are around 07:05min. At this times 10 seconds are so fucking much.
It's time for another /eurobeat/ thread. What's your favourite track to drive to?

In the same situation. Anyone have a good checklist to tell you if you're g2g on the trail?
You're all a bunch of limp-dick boomer wannabes who can't get a girl under 300#

>tfw wife is going to leave me if I don't sell my old lexus ls400 and get a newer car
The pussy is good but I love my car more, I'm considering leaving her. My ls400 was the first car I ever bought with my own money and I've had it for 6 years

My guess is white, only a white woman would be spoiled enough to think her pussy is worth more than a car.
Have a bit of new information about my stalling problem and wanted you guys input if you would.
Car idles at 500rpm and stalls occasionally when coming to a stop. Usually will not start unless the battery is disconnected or foot is held on the gas while cranking.
One time it lit up more lights than usual and I was across the street from an autozone.
Had a p1128 and p0430.
My personal mech and I are having a hard time helping to diagnose this.
Any thoughts are appreciated. Considering putting a TB from the junkyard to test it.
2002 camry
When that happened to me, it was a stuck EGR valve.
>>17461079
did you car idle low. Ive been reading that a stuck egr valve causes rough idle.
>>17461002
Google those codes, anon. That'll at least tell you what the ECU is bitching about. May not solve the problem, but at least it'll make the ECU go back to its corner and sulk.
As far as diagnosing it, plug in a scan tool and start looking at the data. Fuel trims, etc.
>have a fear of getting a rwd car because I live in the north
>remember it doesn't snow that much anymore, maybe a few days out of the year instead of a few months
Thanks climate change
>>17460756
no problem
>>17460756
It's not that bad, you just have to know your cars limits.
>>17460763
I owned a crown vic back when it use to snow a lot, I couldn't even get out of my driveway, got a Subaru legacy and never had a problem after that.
But it barely snows anymore so I'm going to buy an old lexus and give my legacy to my gf since she really wants it

The Cycle Ergo URL in the OP is broken, it's a .com website. Maybe change it in the next thread.
Are winter tires a meme or legit? I've been car shopping for a coupe but I've noticed that some of these cars, like the gt mustangs, have few if any winter tires. I've only used all seasons, never dedicated summer or winter tires. How big of a difference is there?
>>17461300
Some parts of the snowy world, they're required. Other parts of the non-snowy world, studded snow tires are banned. Ask around and see what the laws are.
>>17461300
if you are total commuter (car is just a tool to get you from A to B) in a place without icy/snowy condiditons - go with allseasons, or whatever your car came with and don't care at all.
if you are unlucky to live in area where you have this thing called "winter" or "snow" - just buy a set of winter tires because law most likely says you have to have them anyway.
if you are serious about cars, you have a nice set of tires for summer and one even nicer for winter - because in daily commute your normal summer tires will be just as good as any other, but on snow you are much more likely to be able to tell a difference between good winter tire and a cheapo one.
If you are real car nut, you probably have separate sets of complete wheels, one for track/togue fantasies with semislicks, one with performance summer tires for your daily in the summer, one set of high performance winter tires for winter.
If you are guy with japanese/german RWD driftmachine, you have friends from whom you "borrowed" banged wheels that you will surely return to them, you are good friends with tireshop guys and run whatever you can fit on your car - the more number of tires/wheels you have, the better - and you don't care what thread or specification they are, you will lay that rubber down anyway.
Winter tires are god tier. Saved my ass from idiots sliding through red lights several times.
one can dream, right?
Americans hate diesels for some reason
>>17460838
diesel a pricey and a slow start stigma
>>17460844
Diesel is cheap as shit in Canada, usually cheaper than regular grade gas, yet our market gets fucked over because companies treat Canada like the 51st state
Mercedes selling most of its ML and GL SUVs as diesel should be a big fucking hint to other manufacturers
