People dying isn't funny you sperglord. Consider yourself warned
I'm considering buying a 2006 rx-8 as my first car. I want to know, is it worth it? What should I be aware of? Is it easy to upgrade with aftermarket kits? Etc.
>>17485022
One question: why?
It's slow, fuel inefficient, bad looking, slow, bloated, and slow.
Did I mention slow?
Just buy an FC if you want a rotary.
Hoooboy. Unless you're trolling, prepare for a shit storm.
>>17485033
I forgot to mention that its insurance is absolutely fucking insane. I was looking at buying one as a first car until I saw that it was like $250 a month.
>"its a salvaged title, but if you drove it, you'd never know"
>>17483734
Then I'm sure you won't mind me taking this car to a mechanic and put on a lift to be checked out.

>>17483734
if it's so good then they'd get it reclassified as rebuilt

This April we put together the first appalachian area /o/ meet, and it was a success. No one crashed, and a fiero died for our sins
For the end of the summer, we're going to be doing a meet at deals gap. The path has yet to be laid out, but most likely we will be starting on tail of the dragon and heading into the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest to hit the sweepers.
Join our discord for more information in the following week. Date is subject to change based on availability

I own those grey shoes....
Might be able to make it.
Did I fuck up buying this?
Can't be any worse than an actual American car.
It better be the hemi, not the v6.
Do a skid, cunt
ITT: Pick one best looking car from the last 5 pre-millennial decades.
Brand, significance, personal belief and country of origin play no role. Just list the 5 cars you find best looking from the 50's though the 90's.
FIRST HALF of the decade only (00-05)
Bonus points for obscured. Bonus points for non-supercars. Bonus points for pictures.
>Mercedes 300SL 1952 (Production model from 1954)
>Cobra 427 (mk3) 1965
>Porsche 911 Turbo 1974
>Ferrari Testarossa 1984
>McLaren F1 1992
>>17481823
No Mustang? No F40??
>>17481856
The F40 is from 1987 and the Mustang did almost make it for me but it seems so descendant. Well so does the Cobra and the Porsche but they're fucking brilliant
Citroen DS 1955 (obviously)
Alfa Romeo 2600 1961
Lancia Montecarlo 1975
Mazda RX-7 1985
BMW E38 1994
Bonus one: Mazda 323F 1994. One of the best-looking hatchback of the 90s and my current car (not on the image tho)
The car you post ITT, will be given to you free of charge. You may never sell it though.
All expenses like insurance and petrol will be paid for you as well.
Claimed

Your image is upside down. I fixed it for you xx

This counts right ?
I'm in NYC and noticed a lot of cars have these bumper protectors.
Anyone on /o/ actually use one of these on their car?
>>17475238
No. I have proximity sensors on my car, and can park without breaking ahit.
>>17475243
I wouldn't worry about myself.
>>17475243
It's not about (you); it's to prevent other people from damaging the paint when they it you.
Ford somehow considered South America wasn't a continent worthy enough to import the Fiesta ST and Focus ST, despite the Clio RS and Golf GTI selling like hot cakes.
>>17472644
What sort of shitehole do you live in? I can import whatever the fuck I like.
3000lbs
Snap oversteer
Slower around a track than a 172

At least 1/3 of those are blatantly Russia.
As for the rest, that's why insurance exists.
>>17488003
That's why I only drive to the end of the block and back. I never get into any accidents.
Seatbelts are for cucks
Im talking real shit:
>Blend into an urban environment
>Cheap enough to ditch
>Reliable enough to go cross country
>Small enough to park in alleyways
>Possibly used by a proffesion who works in and around a jewelry store
Im thinking a van.
Pretty much.
By the time you would need something quick you already dun goofed anyway.

50hp, can go about 100mph any terrain,
small and light,
really fast acceleration
how do you remove these fuckers without the key?
went to the wreckers and found a nice set of wheels and tires but couldn't get the fucking locknut off. how do you deal with these?
Vise grips
>>17487610
tried, didn't work.
looked like the guy before me tried that too.
get some sockets you dont plan on re-using (get cheapo ones if you have to) and hammer 'em on.
Then you just get a breaker bar or w/e your weapon of choice is and taker 'er off
How do you tune cars with ITBs? Are they only ran in open feedback? Do they tap each trumpet to a common vacuum line for the MAP? Individual MAPs/MAFs? Doesn't seem like a great system under electronic control.
>implying /o/ actually knows anything about cars
>>17487582
RPM/throttle position map. There's precious little manifold vacuum to measure, and it's destroyed pretty quickly when the throttle butterfly is opened.
>>17487671
That seems pretty garbage considering it doesn't reflect load or elevation. Lambda sensors are not exactly fast acting or super dependable devices by themselves.
I'm guessing it's fine since theyre meant for select race events, but still creates a lot more factors to account for.
my old man and I rebuilt this xj6 jag 74 mod from a rolling chassis . took us 5yrs to track down all the original parts and we totally reworked and rebuilt donk.
>>17486814
man if that's what it'd look like in 74, who gives a fat shit if it'll last 75k miles vs a chevy's 100k? very cool
