Looking to buy a Nissan 300zx or 240sx, what should I look for? Pretty new to cars so still pretty unsure. General Nissan thread also I guess
Look for ones with the wheels bolted on in the correct direction.
A 350z goes for the same price as a 300zx in my area, I would check those out too.
>>17502102
I've heard that 350 isn't as good as 300, any truth to this?
Why are Camaros still so expensive on the used car market? It's impossible to find one for less than $10k.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Chevrolet-Camaro-IROC-Z-/132249248811
you were saying?
>>17501751
Because Camaro's have historically had a higher resale value than Mustangs.
>>17501773
Because there's fewer of them out there, because they were never as popular and therefore didn't sell overly well. Plus the most coveted first gens were only produced for three years, whereas first gen Mustangs were made for twice as long.
Also anything after a first gen camaro is a piece of underpowered shit.
And the new ones are hideous pigfat garbage.
when did it all go wrong?
>>17501697
Looks like it was with the 4th Generation
>>17501697
>implying it was ever
Civics are the archetypal economy car. Why would you imply they're anything else?
>>17501697

Why is the Mark VIII never talked about? It's basically a luxury Cobra. You can get one of these things for like $1500 these days in any condition you want.
>>17501214
I don't see a lot of these on the road, so I'm assuming that it's unreliable.
>>17501214
>It's basically a luxury Cobra

There is an evo 6 i am interested in, seems to be the most well maintained one, has full log books, minimal mods etc.
anyways it is owned by an Indian guy and had their smell when I checked it out.
does it eventually go away? or will I be stuck with that smell if i buy it?
That dude was KILLED
>>17500656
when you buy just take to detailer shop that steam cleans interior
Wipe down the interior, clean seats, new cabin air filter, and spray that smell good stuff on the filter. Use A.C. and it should be gone in no time.
I've never done anything so big as swapping an engine so i have no idea how to do it but ill give a little backstory. I have a 2002 civic that i flipped and insurance wont cover it. The engine is fine but otherwise its junk. So i found a 2005 suzuki forenza for $200 with a cracked head gasket. both cars are automatic and front wheel drive. I wanted to see if i could swap the engine but i dont know the first thing about it. Any help or insight would be appreciated as to how switchable these engines are.
>>17500478
>flipping a car
please kill yourself. it takes a special kind of retard to do that.
>>17500488
yeah. Im just a little stupid. It was a rainy night and I took a turn a little too fast
>>17500478
>I have a 2002 civic that i flipped
How?
The reason is not important. How would I go about this? I'm not asking "how to not get caught", I'm asking what truly happens to the car's engine if I do this.
I suppose it depends in relation of how much diesel I put in, right? A small amount would probably blend in with the unleaded and cause no damage, but what about a consistent amount? The car I want to damage has approximately a 45l fuel tank capacity, considering that it's usually 1/3rd of the way full, how much diesel would I need to damage the fuel line and possibly the engine?
Again, try to answer without wondering why I'm asking. Thanks
>try to answer without wondering why I'm asking
Nah, shouldn't really do any damage. What you might/will get is your plugs getting fouled, and tons of unburnt oil and smoke
Its gas/petrol in a diesel car that causes shit to get damaged
It won't hurt it, don't bother. Just piss on it or something.

I have a friend who's the same age as me (18) and is looking to get his first car. His first choice at the moment is a fucking 90s-00s Toyota Camry or a Ford Falcon (we're Australian).
He doesn't know jack shit about cars, and I'm trying to convince him to get something that isn't driven by 95% of others in the road, as in the most boring fucking car imaginable. Both in terms of how they drive, and how they look. Do you have any suggestions? He's not into JDM, and he only likes BMW when it comes to Euro brands. He has a budget of $9,000.
Oh and here's the kicker, it's got to be automatic. He can't drive manual, not even legally.
>>17498979
So he's not a car guy. That's fine you autistic pleb. Let him get a damn camry, it'll last the rest of his life if he takes care of it.
>>17498979
>legally
Wat?
>>17498987
You can take your driver's license in either a manual or automatic car.
If you use an auto car, you can't drive manual. If you use a manual car, you can drive both manual and auto.
I need to replace my always-breaking-down hoopty ass '05 Civic. Currently driving my '98 F-150 everywhere and 15 mpg is getting old, so I've decided to get another 4 banger, front wheel drive fuel sipper. I drive ~70 miles Mon-Fri and more on weekends. So MPG is a consideration, but not main factor, I just love how Lancers LOOK.
I guess the last Lancer's trims go ES, SE, GT, Ralliart, Evo
ES is the base FWD, 2.0L ~148 hp
SE is AWD, 2.4L ~168 hp
GT is FWD, 2.4L ~168 hp
Ralliart is FWD with turbo 2.0L making ~237 hp
Ralliart is out of the question cause 19 city/ 25 hwy MPG is fucking retarded for a compact car with a 2.0L engine, and it's not even AWD. I don't need AWD, but if the SE with the bigger engine and AWD drives nice, it's worth the extra gas costs...
Just want your thoughts. I think /o/ hates the Lancers last time I checked. I just don't want a Civic or Corolla, Camry or Accord.
sorry, 70 miles each day, mon-fri. I average ~16k-17k miles each year.
>>17498715
fix the civic. it can't be that bad. what's wrong with it?
>>17498725
well the engine blew last year, paid like 2,100 for it to be fixed, and the cooling system replaced, and it's acting up again, and always has a hot burning smell. I'm approaching 30 years old and it's time to step up from a hoopty. I'm sitting on a lot of cash, saving for a house, but I depend on a car for work ya kno? Never cared for sporty cars, and I like running an econobox at 5k RPM and it scoots along just fine, until highway speeds.
Why are people paying 60k$ + for a front wheel drive ,4 cylinder honda? Some retard even paid 90k$ and the dealer is holding his car for 90 days because of some clause for showing it? For that money you can get an M2/M3/M4 or a Giulia Quadrifoglio or Lexus RC F
Because thats what they like
