I've seen some around 25/30k (£) that are good milage but need a little love cosmetically. Would importing be a good idea or is it not worth it after fees and taxes? help me /o/

What is your MBTI and what do you enjoy most about cars?

ISTP, here; I enjoy driving fast.

Explain the jungian functional stack, what it means and it's relationship with lifespan development in detail or fuck off. None of the tests come remotely close to being valid anyway.

I have mixed feelings about these things, but I've always tested as an ISTP.

INFP; I enjoy cars from the 80s and 90s, where the QUIRKS AND FEATURES were really unique.

What is the greatest light utility vehicle ever made and why is it the Chevy HHR?

>Unmistakable design
>30+ MPG highway
>Relatively massive cargo space
>Comfortable

What's not to love? As a light utility vehicle the HHR remains the serviceman's top choice. Ford's Transit Connect is the only thing that comes close. The HHR is the only vehicle on the road aside from the Dodge Challenger that actually pays homage to American vehicle design heritage and doesn't bow to shitty modern design sense.

Its body is supremely suited for attractive decals and graphics, making it the ideal platform for light duty work for companies that are road based, when complemented by heavy duty trucks to move bigger payloads.

Why doesn't your fleet have an HHR, /o/???

chevy astro is a lot better.
>>
Vans are tasteless and are pure utility, with zero consideration for aesthetics. A serviceman who needs a van is probably hauling at least 50% trash or other useless shit.

All the tools you should ever need will fit comfortably in the HHR

Don't tell me this isn't sexy

holy shit the OP is so hot, shame the panel cruiser never came to be

this modded one is a bit shit though, looks like a cars 2 character

What is /o/'s opinion on replica/body kit cars? Would I be a fraud to get one? Or is it ok to drive and just not larp or lie about it.

3 cylinders sound a ton more awesome than 4cylinders, I'm not even shitting you.

they also tend to spool up way more willingly, making inline 4s seem lazy (which they are nowadays).
3pots give back the gritty rawness to shitboxes of our time.

Should I go for it /o/ ?
130 000 km mileage, manual, 2.0 125 HP for 2,6k $
Looking for something fast and tuneable, both for autocross/racing and daily use
My budget is limited to 3k $, so even though I would want to, I can't get WRX, not even mentioning STI.

what do you consider fast?
>>

Something that gets to 100 faster than 10s and isn't outsped by golfs
I don't expect to match Lamborghini speed with my budget
>>

getting to 100kmh in under 10 seconds in that car might be a tough challenge

work a summer and get at least 5k for a base car
then another 5k for tuning

Are getting higher end brakepads compared to oem ones a meme for a daily driver that doesnt join?

Say if you already went for more higher end tires?
11 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Higher end to a certain point. I'd def notice the difference if I spent $50 a axle on Stoptech/Akebono/Mintex/Textar/PBR pads over shittier $20 a axle Wagners or parts store brands.

But I don't see the point in something like $100/axle Hawks/EBCs/Carbotechs unless I'm regularly tracking or autocrossing the car with a decent set of 200TW or stickier tires. Would rather spend the money on newer lines if the car is over 10 years old and flushing the fluid with fresh DOT4.
>>
>>17515724
In the best scenario they are squeaking like hell, in the worst you have to get them up to temperature before they work, resulting in a loss of breaking capability while normal driving
>>
>>17515724
Good brake pads make a difference on track.
In real life even cheapo ones are fine as long as you are not a dogshit driver.

My Audi A3 from 2012's end of lease is coming up, and I need to pick a new car for work.

I've narrowed it down to these choices, and am having some problems deciding:
Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake 180 d
Mercedes-Benz A-class 180 d
Lexus CT200h

I figure any of these cars will be an okay choice, but it can't hurt to get as many opinions as I can.
Does anyone have any experience with any of these cars?

>>
The cla and the a class are badge whore garbage.
>>
>>17515461
That makes my choices really easy!

I went to a Mercedes garage yesterday: both seemed alright, but I couldn't get a test drive
I'm planning to go to a Lexus dealer in the evening, I'm really interested in seeing the CT200h
>>
>>17515461
As is the A3, and the CT for that matter. They're all basically pleb-tier FWD hatchbacks with a high-end badge on the front.
The only difference is the A-Class and CLA don't have a down-market counterpart (the A3 has the Golf/Jetta, the CT has the Auris).

how fucked am i? I let my oil run alittle bit below the fill level on my dipstick, it might of been like that for a month. I haven't noticed a low pressure or high temp issue.
I drove like a quarter mile to a gas station to get oil and when I took the cap off of the oil fill there was steam comming out (I assume).

I have to take it on a long drive tomarrow. should I expect major issues?

>>
>>17515204
might as well put sand in your engine and call off the drive.
>>
>>17515204
Ignore that other asshole. As long as your oil pressure isn't low you generally should be OK. You might wanna figure out where your oil is going, though. And yes, a little vapor coming out of the crankcase on a hot engine is normal.

So, I'm my partner and I need a new car, will the 4chan oracle guide me?

We have a <1 yr old and her mazda 3 aint cutting it in terms of space. My liberty GT aint cutting it in terms of practicality (coilovers, FMIC, big stereo in the boot).

probably gonna have to let go of my liberty... keep the maz 3 and buy a family hauler.

I'm in Australia, budget is 50k, we plan on 2 more kids in the next 3 yrs.

considering the following:

Maz CX5 diesel (akera spec)
Subaru outback 3.6R

Which would /o/ buy and why? Any alternatives?

safety is my toppest of top priorites, also want reliability and practicalilty. But I'd also like something 'fun'. Considered an Octavia RS wagon but Skoda and VAG are a bunch of cunts (mums mk 7 golf R has been in the dealership for haldex replacement, and constant coolant issues where the level drops, they top it up and say no fault found - has 20k klms on it)

help me /o/

How does this impact practicality??

Have you looked at a VF Commodore Wagon? Good size without resorting to an SUV.

Octavia RS would be my choice though.
