I know nothing about cars. Anybody know how good these are supposed to be?
drives like an american car trying to copy japanese cars.
just buy a jap car if you like that styling.

>drives like an american car trying to copy japanese cars
This makes no sense whatsoever.
>>17518021
lol no
they drive like a shitty boat
one of the worst cars Ive ever been behind the wheel of
the sound is awful and theyre slow as hell by modern standards
Is there any reason to buy a new car over a certified pre-owned?
Zero farts
>>17517764
Is that important?
>>17517764
fart-free is a meme. factory workers, truck drivers, car salesmen, lot porters, mechanics, test pilots and more all take perverse delight in farting in brand new cars.
I don't know shit about Subarus.
Is $2,000 a good price for this '96 Impreza with 74k miles?
I just want out of my money pit Audi
>>17516519
no. subarus are shit. just get a civic.
>>17516519
74k is pretty low, I would jump on it just to rip it apart and make it an open light class rally car.
What is this?
A nightmare edition ford focus
Mitsubishi lancer Raliart

A Focus. That someone really loves. A little too much.
Do you use cruise control? How often?
I for one don't like it and rarely use it unless I'm on a straight highway with no traffic. I have an adaptive driving style and adjust my speed and following distance to the traffic around me. My dad however is very pro cruise control and uses it like 90% of the time, even in very heavy traffic. I think all it does is frustrate him and makes him drive unsafely. It makes him tailgate, approach slow moving traffic WAY too fast, and battle merging traffic instead of adapting his speed. When overtaking a car instead of moving over at a safe distance and accelerating to quickly pass he gets right up on their ass, moves over and takes forever to pass, then cuts over in front of them before there is enough distance.
Anyway what does /o/ think of it? I think it's unsafe bullshit for lazy drivers.
>>17516310
I use it often on long trips, as well as on a few select roads with particularly strict speed enforcement. It shouldn't be hard to adjust your speed and lane as necessary in light to moderate traffic, and if you drive a newer econobox, your car probably has RADAR that adjusts following distance for you.
I only use it just to make sure it still works or to make my trips more interesting by accelerating and decelerating with the steering wheel controls
I mainly use it on long interstate drives.

Hello, guys! Ukrainian anon reporting.
I have a budget of $1000 and I'm looking for a ride to transport my butt from home to work and vice versa. Since I'm deeply convinced that I should go for American car or no car, I consider Chevy Corsica 1991. But here comes the problem - they are not very wide-spread around post-Soviet terrains, hence there's almost impossible for me to find any valuable and relevant output about its strength and weaknesses, except flaming butthurt of Japanese cars zealots, whose arses go on fire when something GM-esque is being mentioned.
So here I'm calling NA anonymous for the rescue. What should I have a look at in order to avoid buying a total wreck? If my plans on Corsica don't get through, is Mercury Topaz 1988 worth of considering?
Subject: Chevrolet Corsica Sedan 1991, 3.1 LH0 3AT, 206000 miles mileage.

What I know now:
- Engine is quite reliable.
- Transmission is quite reliable, too.
- It's a bit thirsty on fuel, though it's not very demanding of its quality.
- Suspension parts are interchangeable with Opel Vectra A.
- Interior is quite tight.
Am I right? Your feedback is very appreciated, thanks in advance.

Definitely need to take a look under the body, and maybe even under those playboy mats.
I don't know what your climate is like, but there's a solid chance you could put your foot straight through the bottom of that thing.

>The Ecoboost is the best engine range ever! Everyone else is BTFO!
>Police Interceptor Fords don't use Ecoboost
What did they mean by this?
The cyclone engine is reliable.
Police are expected to perform maneuvers that extend past the lawful limitations of everyday drivers.
Truly an epic thread

Tint or no tint?
I've always liked tinted windows although I feel like they look good on expensive cars and bad/stupid/trashy/w.e on cheap cars. However, I think this may be an exception since it has black paint+rims what do you guys think?
>>17512704
A good tint will look good on any car (unless its a green Dodge Neon with missing paint).
Don't go over the top though. Just get a 50% max, and be sure to not be a cheap fuck. If you get the shitty purple tint, then prepare to ruin the looks of your car.
It does look trashy.
But this is 4chan so your vampire skin is gonna burn from any UV exposure longer than 15 seconds.
also NJ is the most pussy state with tint laws, you literally cannot have any at all in the front. I do see people every single day with it however so I'm wondering how enforced it is? Anyone out there with illegal tints can weigh in....have you ever been pulled over just for the tint?
Itt: ask a mechanic

yep.

yeah, unless you're running over a bar of boost and WOT all day.
I'd take ppl's drugs too if they were dumb enough to leave them in the console.

As a mechanic why do you think other mechanics tell other people that being a mechanic sucks ass and do you hate being one? I think mechanics that say it sucks say it because they're pussies and went in thinking that if they become one they would be able to do a bunch of "sik modz brah" to cars and become super cool race car drivers after that
